We were made aware of the frozen pipes by outr neighbor. We immediately called Payless Plumbing to survey the problem..The main water valve had frozen and broke open. Water was leaking between the walls and the floors. Payless immediately turned the thermostat up to 85 degrees to try to thaw out the pipes. After two days of installing heaters and fans they were able to replace the ruptured valve and check for more damage. The water softner had been frozen so it was disconnected and shut off.The kitchen faucet had been frozen and had to be replaced partically. They were very concerned that the water might have damaged our floors so they placed heaters and fans to dry everything out. If they hadn't been so professional of what they did the lose and damage would have been much, much more.ce

Everything went exactly as they had stated. From the time they showed up until they left.
Description of Work: Greased up a faucet that became "frozen" on a old "farmhouse stone sink" that they installed four years ago. They do beautiful work and are very experienced in all areas of plumbing.

Walt was fabulous from moment one. Easy to talk to and full of information, he definitely put me at ease. I am a first time home owner so all of Walt's observations and recommendations are much needed and appreciated; he has a direct way of putting things that makes it easy to grasp and move forward with. The work that he actually came to do was quite minor but he was extremely contentious in every step, explaining it all so that I could replicate the work moving forward with the no doubt many pipes and hoses that will need replacing as I renovate. I am detail oriented and fastidious so this approach suits me fine; he certainly had a sound, do-it-right attitude. All this and quite personable and very punctual; I would very much recommend Payless and will certainly use them again.
Description of Work: Fixed a leak in washroom, replaced hose bib outside, explained some plumbing basics and consulted on planned plumbing do-it-yourself projects that I am looking forward to in my recently purchased 1949 fixer upper.
