Great. The tech was personal and professional, explaining what happened and what he was doing to fix the problem. The price was also low.

We have hired West Side Appliance several times over the years, for appliances in 2 different houses, incl, stove repair (x2), dryer repair and vent cleaning, refrigerator repair, and washer repair. They are always professional and knowledgeable, and have always been very good about discussing options (i.e. when a repair is not needed or would not be warranted given the age and condition of the appliance). All of the repairs they have performed have worked well and needed no further adjustments/work. I will continue to hire them, and recommend them to anyone who asks. I wouldn't say they work cheaply, but having things done correctly the first time, and getting honest advice about when repairs are NOT needed is worth a lot.

They got the clog removed but charged $175 for a 1/2 hour of work. I asked the technician if he could quick take a look at my ice maker and he tells me he doesn't "have time". So my $175 per half hour doesn't buy me 10 minutes to look at my ice maker. Total rip off.

Pete arrived when he said he would, texted me the day of to confirm and texted me when he was on his way. After diagnosing, he determined that the heating element needed to be replaced. The dryer was very dirty inside and he asked for my vacuum and cleaned it out for me while fixing it, which I thought was very nice. He was was done with the job in 1/2 hour. He also gave me a coupon for a dryer vent cleaning which I mentioned I needed in the future as well. I was very impressed and will definitely call them again when I inevitably need another repair!

It was an all-day job and was handled professionally. The tech was very through and knowledgeable. Removed his shoes before coming into the house, covered the floor before setting parts down, etc. All the parts used were OEM and the system was thoroughly tested before he left. Very happy with the service. They may be a little more expensive BUT worth the money!

The smell persisted and we hired DM Repair Services to come look at it. Both technicians could smell the odor and on opening up the service compartment they found a paint scraper/putty knife next to the defroster coil. The plastic handle of the tool had melted and was clearly the source of the burnt plastic smell. Obviously, Doug left the tool there at his first visit (see attached pictures taken by the DM Repair Services technician and a close up of the tool we took upon removal.) To say that we are disappointed to have to pay another repair service to diagnose and correct the incompetence of your technician is an understatement. To have endured several weeks of exposure of our refrigerated food to potentially toxic fumes from the melted plastic handle of his tool is an even greater concern. At the very least we are owed us $175.00 for the charge DM Repair Service invoiced today. We wish we could include the picture of the putty knife that was in our fridge.

This work was completed by the previous owner as per an inspection. Right after I moved in, I noticed that the short was still a problem. I found out that Westside had done the repair, called them, but they refused service because more than 30 days had elapsed from the time the previous owner had the work done and my moving in to discover that it was still a problem. They were totally uncooperative.

This was a unique situation where Westside was hired by the sellers of the home I purchased to replace a broken knob. The technician arrived on-time and was very professional. He spent a few hours working on the stove, and left with the stove as he assessed it in working order. We were happy with the experience. Unfortunately, a few days later as we went to prepare our first meal, we noticed the stove was not in working order. Several burners were not responding/behaving as expected and it was essentially unusable aside from the burner the technician had worked on. As it turned out, the situation was complex - we eventually came to realize the stove had existing problems in addition to the broken knob that the sellers conveniently forgot when they stated the stove was in working order. Additionally, our home inspector and the first technician had not sufficiently tested the stove. Most of the burners worked on HIGH - but only on high - so if the other settings were not tested, the problem was missed. The grid that showed which areas of the cooktop were "ON" was also inaccurate (slightly more obvious problem? Thanks for nothing, home inspector.). After several rounds of discussions with Westside, we were fortunate to come to an acceptable resolution. Our stove works, and the technician went the extra mile of balancing our stove on its broken leg. While it did take some time and persistence to sort through the multiple issues to achieve the resolution, we left satisfied with our service and grateful for Westside's willingness to work with us. I have to mention the only reason for a B in professionalism was a canceled appointment the day after St. Patrick's day....possibly unfortunate timing, but inconvenient either way. It prolonged the issue unnecessarily.

He arrived early, and offered to sit in his truck until it was a good time for me! His arrival was perfect! He explained all that he did. He did extra cleaning under our refrigerator! He told us how to clean our disposal ourselves. He suggested that we switch to powder HE detergent for our washer, and why. He was friendly and thorough. We also felt he completed the job in a timely manner. I made the call to Westside initially for the refrigerator coil cleaning because of the list of 5 things consumers should have done on ANGIE'S LIST! Chris who took my call said coil cleaning would be $ 99.00 (as you had written in your suggestion) and then said that for $50.00 more, we could have the other appliances done. SOLD! With the new elbow for the dryer, the total was $163.00! We are very happy and will continue to use Westside and will tell our friends!

The service person arrived on time and was very courteous and professional and explained what the issue was and replaced the fuse however, he was not able to do the vent cleaning and let me know that another person would have to come to do that part of the job if I wanted it done and that another trip charge would be charged as well as the $100 cost of the service.  My house is 15.1 miles from the main location of this company and the trip charge for them to come out was $99.95!  And when I asked him where he was heading next it was only 8-9 miles from my house.  I have never paid that much for a trip charge from any of the numerous service companies that I have had at my house.  I don't mind a reasonable trip charge but for 20 minutes of work (labor charged was $54.95) and he wasn't even able to complete the whole job.  I am very disappointed in the value of the service I was provided.

9/10/15 update
I wanted to update my review that I corresponded with the office at Westside regarding the value I received and they clarified that the $99.95 trip charge also includes a full diagnostic of the issue.  And said that if my issue would have been harder to diagnose I still would have only paid the $99.95.  So maybe that was a slight consolation, however, the service person that was here said that I would be charged that amount again if someone else needed to come out and finish the job (cleaning the dryer vent) which was already diagnosed!  AND, I was still charged for the labor charge as well.  I know it is expensive to have service done at your home but that still seems exorbitant for a start to finish 20 minute job and like I was double charged with labor and diagnostic at full price for the amount of time it took.

I don't think there was any charge as it was under warranty. They showed up when they were supposed to be here. They are professional. I would use them again in the future.
