Sudlow Concrete

Although initially unresponsive to our inquiries, Bill ultimately went out of his way to make it up to us. He gave us an honest assessment of some potential projects around our house, and we will consider using him in the future.

Bill showed up on time and his workers started work right away on the steps and on the driveway. Was done by the time he said he would be done and cleaned up pretty well after the job ended. My steps look much better now and the section of the driveway that had started falling apart is all rebuilt quite nicely.

Mr Sudlow was punctual, professional and courteous for both the quote and the project start time. He returned my calls right away and did a great job (10x12 concrete slab with fiber). Price wasn't great but definitely fair!

Bill responded quickly to a request for a quote to pour a new driveway. Had 3 bids, he was able to come in with a reasonable bid and had no problem jumping through all of the hoops and hurdles to get the permits that our city requires. Professional and nice workers came out for 2 days and laid a beautiful driveway with a drainage pipe for water to run underneath. Everything looks and works great. Bill is professional, has integrity, is honest and reasonable. Have been working with tons of subcontractors over the past year and he is 1 of a very few that I would recommend to friends.

I contacted Bill who I found through Angie's List, and we set up an appointment to have him come and give me an estimate. During the estimate he explained everything that he and his company would be doing. After our initial meeting he called the next day, and said he made an error in the estimate, and why, which reduced the price even further. He and his works showed up on time to begin the work, and he was there through the entire project of replacing our driveway from digging it up to pouring to leveling. Overall he and his crew were very professional, and personable. An excellent experience, and I would recommend him to anyone who needs to have any type of work done on their driveway.

I called Bill to come out for a quote. A few days later he came out and gave me a quote of $700 for the repair of 1 ft x 5 ft hole in my driveway. Bill then stated that he would be able to do the repair in about 2 weeks. About 2 weeks later he showed up at my house with another guy and this guy did the repair pretty quickly. The patch looks as good as I think it could be. Of course there is a difference in color from the original driveway but I believe that is to be expected.

Ultimately received 3 estimates from 3 separate companies, and Sudlow's Concrete was by far the most reasonable. Bill sat down with me and explained the process before he began. He gave me his estimate, told me what time the project would begin the following morning and what time the project would be completed. He stated he would remain on site to oversee the project and to ensure everything went smoothly. Even though the tree roots were far more voluminous than anyone expected, the project began and ended - exactly as promised. Bill kept to his every word - stayed onsite - and the final price was the same as his estimate. I requested one change to the design and he did exactly as I asked - the driveway is beautiful! I am a very satisfied customer and highly recommend Sudlow's Concrete. Bill delivers!

The job went smoothly. Bill arrived on time with a large staff. We increased the area we wanted to cement after he arrived and Bill made the new arrangements without skipping a beat.

My experience with Bill and his company was fantastic. The concrete slab in my 2nd floor condo was damaged and a section needed replacing. I was having trouble finding someone qualified and willing to do the project because many of the concrete companies only do larger and/or outside projects while the floor companies I contacted would not even come look at it because they thought the job was outside their capabilities. The only other quote I was able to get was exorbitantly high because it would take them away from working on a more lucrative job. Even though this was not the type of project he would normally take on, Bill agreed to provide an estimate because I was in a bind. After inspecting the slab, he gave a fair estimate and worked me into his schedule quickly since I had had to sleep on the couch the whole time I was trying to arrange for repairs. He was prompt, courteous, kind and very professional throughout the entire process. The work was performed quickly and well. I would not hesitate to contact him for any concrete work in the future. Bill showed up when he said he would, gave me the advice I asked for, and proposed a fair course of work. His estimate was very reasonable, I think -- I was worried it would be a lot more. The work started exactly when he said it would. Halfway into it, we ran into the problem that the original surface stone couldn't be reused. Before I even asked, Bill had researched matches or replacements. When we made a different plan, he was very accomodating, made the necessary plans, and finished the project quickly. The adjusted price was also very reasonable.

Bill Sudlow is one of the easiest guys to work with - He had to provide me with two different estimates due to project scope change and was on time for both of them (3 months apart) Runs a small 'focused' crew - they do a few things (Concrete & Waterproofing) very well - Was amazed at how quickly they removed 1600 sq ft of deep concrete and arranged for it to be taken away. Waterproofing (the cause of the project) appears to be of high quality (I'm not a waterproofing expert) but I was impressed with the application of 'belt & braces' sealant (Two coats) plastic sheeting & 2 X french drains. There's a reason that Bill offers a long, long warranty on his work. Concrete work (several months later after landscaper finished) was again accomplished on the day agreed and was exactly as requested. Its now been 3 months or so since the work was completed - No issues at all with the new concrete and my basement has remained dry ! Would recommend to friends and family. Understand that your dealing with a small company, directly with the owner who estimates and supervises all the work - I could not be happier overall.

His price fit my budget and we scheduled the work. He was on time, (what a thrill) and the work is amazing. They rebuilt my stairs and repaired the driveway, plus a couple of additional things like knocking down an old basket ball post and paving an odd space. They did a great job, cleaned up everything and were done in one day. The finishing touches really say a lot about their attention to detail though. They let me know when I could make foot prints in the concrete, (just had to personalize it, right?) they edged each section and they taped the end of the driveway to keep traffic off. Plus they even cleaned the street in front of the house. I highly recommend Sudlow Concrete and will definitely use them again, for an upcoming project.

Mr. Sudlow was one of several people who gave estimates for the new driveway, but it turned out he was the best choice in terms of price and work performed. There were some unexpected and unplanned events, all of which was handled and resolved satisfactory. I would not hesitate to recommend him based on his professionalism, knowledge and completeness of work.

Bill Sudlow came out and gave me an estimate that was below others I had contacted. And, he could do the work on my schedule. He and his crew arrived around 8:30am and had the job completed by 6:00pm. The crew was careful about removing the old driveway and were amazing to watch working the concrete. The finished driveway is exactly what I wanted. They returned the next day to pick up the framing and put the soil back against the driveway edge. The debris bin was removed promptly the morning after the work was completed.

Our driveway had been cracked & was in need of repair for some time. We were having some drainage repair work done that involved sawing out a 2-3 ft cross-section to connect storm water drainage pipes to an existing storm sewer pipe on the other side of the driveway. That was what prompted us to go ahead & do the replacement. I had gotten some previous estimates & I also work with a lot of civil engineers who had offered plenty of advice so when Bill came out to give me his estimate, I kinda had some ideas about costs and specifications. I was so impressed with Bill. He said that he always does a 4" pour and that he uses concrete with fabric in the mix. I requested that he give me a quote using 4000 PSI concrete. His price was far better than the other earlier quotes I had gotten for 3" pours of 3000 PSI concrete & their quotes didn't even include the curbing or the storm water "flume" that he suggested either! He acknowledged that he had several jobs ahead of ours and wanted to be sure we understood that it would be a few weeks before he could get to our job. He was able to start by the date he promised and everything went very smoothly. We felt we got the total package: superior quality at an incredible value with excellent service. Bill Sudlow was worth the wait! If I ever need concrete work done in the future, I know who to call!

Everything went VERY smoothly from start to finish. We were initially concerned about how to pave around a large tree obstructing the driveway, but Bill assured us that he could work with the city to deal with this and he did this very well. He worked with the city arborist to come up with an acceptable solution. The permit process took some time due to the city, but Bill followed up consistently and kept us informed of his progress until we got all OKs from the city. He then started his work right away. The payment process was very fair--he asked for the first payment only after all permits were obtained and half the work was completed. We paid the balance on completion. He did a beautiful job -- the driveway is very attractive and nicely finished. Bill was very professional at all times and came out afterward at our request to double check that the concrete was curing properly, which it was. We also thought the price was very fair compared to other quotes. In particular, it included the cost of permits and the permit process, which other companies did not include. In fact, other companies were not very willing or willing at all to go through the permit process-- they wanted us to deal with it. In contrast, Bill was very open to it and handled it very well--the process was no problem to him. This was a huge plus to us and one of the main reasons we hired Bill's company. In the end it worked out perfectly-- no hassles at all for us and a beautiful driveway that enhances our property.

When the driveway was removed, it became evident that the garage floor did not have the needed fill dirt under it and it was also cracking. At this point, Bill Sudlow offered several solutions and we decided to have him remove the existing garage floor, backfill it and repour it. Everything went very smoothly in the garage and all other areas. We are very happy with the completed job. The masonary work on the front porch is especially nice. The removal of vegetation was done very carefully and all roots and plant debris was removed. The yard was ready for landscaping when Sudlow competed all the work and no mess was left behind. I am a detail person (and I watched every carefully as the work was being done) and Bill Sudlow always took the time to answer my questions and concerns. I am completely happy with the results and feel that this was done in a quick, professional, cost-effective manner.

Came out immediately upon receiving my call; gave est; came out several days later as scheduled, arrived on time - called first. Polite, professional, good workers - had a good feeling about knowledge - workers even helped me down steps & carried my pkgs when I was outside.

My basement had flooded several times since September. I contacted Sudlow Concrete and Bill immediately came out to assess the situation and to give an estimate (which was quite reasonable). Bill seemed extremely knowledgeable and made me aware of various options. We selected a repair date based on my convenience. On the scheduled day, his team arrived on time, got right to work and completed the work ahead of schedule. They were personable and meticulous. I have not had any problems with my basement since that time. I would definitely recommend Sudlow to anyone and would use them again and again.

I am very pleased, happy to have found Bill's company. They finished in 2 days instead of 1 because they took extra time and care, which was fine with me. I don't want a rush job, I want a quality job, which is what I got. Bill and his men made the final product look nice, they were considerate of my tenants, cleaned up properly, and never stated anything to me which he did not back up with action (which is very important to me). Therefore, I trust Bill Sudlow. In this day and age, that doesn't come easy, nor should it. But this is a man and a company that has earned it. Honesty, fairness, and professionalism. That was my experience.

Bill Sudlow and Sudlow Concrete were selected after I had 5 other driveway estimates made by other concrete contractors. I left a voice mail for Bill with him returning my call two days later and meeting with me the next day for an estimate. I cannot say Bill was the lowest bidder but was the second lowest for the group. After hearing his explanation concerning the removal of the old driveway, ground preparation prior to pouring a new driveway and the type of concrete that would be used I selected he and his company. His estimate did beat out the other 4 bidders and was actually the best once details of the driveway replacement were known. The deal made including the extension of an existing wing made his estimate very close to the "Lowest Bidder" but the quality of work and materials were much better than the lowest bidder offered. Bill used 4000 psi fiber enriched concrete, not 3000 psi non fiber concrete as quoted by the other vendor. The job was started on a Thursday morning with the removal, ground preparation and setting of forms completed that same day. Starting at 8:15 Friday morning the concrete trucks were here pouring concrete. Bill's work crew were finished with shaping, smoothing, brooming the surface and laying in the expansion joints by 3:00 O'clock that afternoon. Not only was the surface broomed for a textured finish but all edging around the driveway and expansion joints was given a smoother finish that really gives the driveway an attractive finish. I know that may sound funny having a driveway with an attractive look but it definitely does not just have that poured concrete finish appearance. I would definitely recommend Bill and his crew to anyone needing their driveway replaced as the work, job completion cleanup and estimate was outstanding. Drive by anytime and look at the driveway and you will see what I mean.

I called Sudlow concrete and Bill Sudlow was very responsive and came to the house right away to make a estimate of the work needed. He was very professional and I hired him right away. He's crew show up early in the morning and got to work right away. The worker took his time to make sure every detail was done right and did not take any short cut. I was very happy with the end result.

We are about to finish our basement but needed it waterproofed before starting construction. Bill Sudlow, the owner of the company, responded promptly to our inquiry about basement waterproofing services and came to our home for a free estimate. His estimate was extremely reasonable and very competitive. He explained the process thoroughly and within less than two weeks, started the job. His team worked quickly and efficiently and Bill checked in regularly to ensure our satisfaction. When we had question, he was immediately on the scene to answer them. The work involved the front of our home and they even built a new walkway for us and brick stairs at no additional charge. The GREAT news is, after the job was complete, there were two days of non-stop rain and NOT A DROP of water in the basement. Job successful! Unfortunately, the rain also washed away a lot of the dirt that had been replaced in front of our house after the job was complete. We called Bill and he immediately came, free of charge, with 30 bags of dirt and replaced and leveled the dirt that had been washed away. We feel extremely happy with our decision to go with Sudlow Concrete. They completed the project successfully with a level of customer service that is rarely seen these days.
