First visit was ok, I thought. I have never had dryer vents cleaned so I was not familiar with the process or know what to ask/expect. Tech did not seem to know where dryer vent exit was and I was told it was not where I thought it was, so it must be up on the roof. Tech proceeded to clean vent, with a lot of debris removed. He cleaned up the debris that had been removed from the dryer ducts and said it was good to go. First use of new dryer afterward flashed a code of 95% blocked. (The prompt to call them initially was after my new dryer indicated an 85% blockage.) Not only that, we discovered the pump for the washer had been unplugged to vacuum up the debris and not plugged back in, resulting in a flood of water. To their credit, Daffy Ducts responded quickly and professionally, sending the owner out to inspect and rectify the problem, which turned into needing new duct work put in due to the previous duct work not connected properly. Also, it turned out the dryer vent was located where I had said it was on the first visit, but was not seen since it was further under my deck (still accessible) than the original tech looked. The owner did everything to rectify the problem, applied a credit for the first visit to the replacement work that was done and the job was completed and now everything works fine. I just felt that the first visit/inspection should have revealed the faulty dryer duct work. Being told told by the tech on the first visit that he does this all the time and the vent wasn't going out the back, he should have taken the time to discover where it did exit (which again, was exactly where I said it was, I was not home to show him myself though). He just proceeded to clean the dryer duct from the dryer to "probably the roof" and that was that. This would have saved them time AND money since they had to discount their work and make 3 trips out to my house. I don't know that I would call them again as my confidence in their techs is shot. I hire "experts" because I don't know how to do something or how something works and I expect them to know how to do their job and troubleshoot, not make assumptions. I don't know if it was a one-off problem as they had a good rating here on Angie's list when I called them. I am pleased with the responsiveness and professional manner shown by the owner. I am pleased that everything is working as it should now.
