Description of Work: We arranged a time by email for 5/22. On 5/20 he emailed that he couldn't make the that date. I wrote back, OK, when could we meet & what are your prices? I never heard back from him. And it is now June 2nd.I felt it was very unprofessional not to get back to me.

+ -1 moreWith the first visit he got most problems worked out but, later, other cropped up. He returned and researched them. It was difficult at times because he was having to deal with both the IBM system as well as the Mac. To me it was a huge relief to have an actual person to talk to and show my problems. He was very good at explaining and getting me trained on both software and hardware. He was very patient. Do's: Don't try to dismiss problems thinking they will go away. They won't Don't: Expect him to perform miracles. If you spill coffee on your keyboard, he more than likely can't fix it.
Description of Work: The consultant helped me to transfer from an IBM PC to a Mac. I had tried it by myself and he unscrambled what I had done and got it right. He did it relatively quickly and without shaming me! Do's: Try to get a written inventory of your problems before consultant arrives.

+ 0 moreI'm a computer-idiot, and Jim was very patient, explaining exactly what he was doing and telling me how I could correct it if the problem happened again. I plan to have him come to my home office and give me some instruction so I can work more efficiently. Try to call ahead for an appointment. He will either come to your home or dial in. His fee is $190.00 for a two-hour minimum rate but let's you use up the leftover time in the future). The price was inline with other computer gurus I have used, but money well-spent. I was fortunate that he was free to help me on the spot.
Description of Work: I'm a full time freelance writer and had a major computer issue. Jim was able to dial in and straighten it out on the spot. Thanks to his quick response, I met my deadline.
