He could not find the problem after keeping the truck for an extra day. He said he would , however ,be happy to charge me $650 to replace the fuel pump (which, he said, the slightly lower than normal fuel pump pressure was most likely the cause of my problems, and if not, well it needed fixed anyhow). After I told him that I didn't want to spend that much money if it didn't fix the problem, he said " you don't trust me, you owe me $99, and you NEED to come get your truck" (very disrespectfully). I went to get the truck, he threw the key at me and said "I don't want your money".

[Member Name Removed], you forgot that we didnt charge you for anything, and we did properly diagnose the fuel pump as faulty, pressure variations at the pump were causing the issues you had. Remember I didnt charge you anything.

Description of Work: I purchased the $20.00 AC inspection from Angie's list and dropped my vehicle off on a Friday evening. I went in to the shop with a broken A/C system and new that some repairs would be required. The owner was able to diagnose the problem, get the parts ordered and return the vehicle by Monday evening. He even stayed late to accommodate my work schedule. I'll definitely use this shop in the future.

I was very disappointed because I had paid for a oil change big deal, yet when I got the service, I was charged for the oil, the oil filter, disposal of the oil, etc. I was left confused, and feeling like I was charged twice.
Description of Work: They did an oil change, they changed the serpentine belt. They tire rotation and a new alignment. They said that I needed 2 new tires, so they put new tires on. They did wheel weights.

I went to this invoice in our service history, we didnt charge for the brake inspection, 20.00, we didnt charge labor for the oil change 19.80, so you got a larger discount than the Angie's list propmotion offered. Because I chose to give it to you, sorry for the confusion.

3 Guys Garage don't know as much as they claim they do. They will tell you that one thing is the matter, and it ends up that all these other things are the matter. They are not accurate in diagnosing what the problems are. They like to blame everybody else for whatever problems arise. This was work on a 1976 Corvette. He told us we had to buy parts, so we got them from a vendor. We brought the car in to have it fixed, and then he tells us that the parts are no good and we ordered the wrong parts. Also that there's all these other things that are the matter with the car. We spent all this money and then had to take the Corvette to someone else to get it fixed.

Response from 3 Guys Garage
OK, lets start at the beginning, Mr [member name removed] approached us during one of our customer appreciation cruise ins. He was interested in having us look at his 76 Corvette. We agreed to do so, there are pictures of us looking at this car on our facebook page. See 3 Guys Garage on facebook if you like. We agreed to inspect the car and make recommendations and authorized repairs. We found the following things wrong. The brake rotors (all 4) were original from 1976, we know this because of the method of construction used by GM. we also noticed rusted through trailing arms, worn out suspension bushings, deteriorated brake hoses and brake calipers. This is on the REAR of the car. He had previously had another reputable shop install a rear leaf spring and declined the other items noted here. I know this because I called the other shop. The other guys, Sanderlin's Automotive Service has a VERY good reputation. Mr [member name removed] told us that NO RECOMMENDATIONS OR OFFERS TO REPAIR were made by Sanderlin's. Mr. Sanderlin disagrees with this and during our conversation told me of the same issues that we found. WITH OUT me telling him anything about the car other than who it belonged to. How is this possible? Its possible for a very obvious reason Mr [member name removed]. We also found a worn out front suspension, upper and lower control arms, ball joints, brakes to include rotors, pads, calipers and brake hoses. The front coil springs were also worn out. These repairs were recommended and we assisted Mr [member name removed] with finding the most affordable options for parts. In a case like this I have decided to make a practice of allowing the customer to purchase his parts thereby saving money on parts and paying for the labor. This wasn't an inexpensive group of repairs. I personally helped Mr [member name removed] find a company called IKERD'S. They sell restored and new corvette suspension parts, they are very nice to deal with and offer fast affordable service and parts as well as a refund on rebuildable parts that are sent back to them after the repairs are made. I made ZERO dollars on these parts. I believe that helping those that dont know where to look is the right thing to do especially when an antique or classic car is involved. Mr [member name removed] ordered parts from Ikerds after we discussed the options available and he ordered parts from other vendors. We got the parts, inspected them and found SOME parts not up to Mr[member name removed] standards. I called him when we found the damage and he came to see for himself. When he arrived at the shop he bypassed me (the owner) and began berating my technicians and browbeating them with questions he should have been asking me. I intervened and we resolved the issue. Damaged parts were returned, new parts were ordered. One issue was the trailing arms, we had incorrectly assumed that we would be able to press out the wheel hubs and bearings and install them in the new bare arms. We were incorrect in this, we even took the arms to a machine shop with a 50 ton press and they couldn't separate the hubs from the arms either. I called when we weren't able to do this and Mr [member name removed] came to see. Again berating us and complaining that we were as bad as the last shop he had his car at. We resolved this issue and continued to work on the car. we rebuilt the rear suspension and brakes except for the leaf spring which had been previously replaced. We then moved to the front suspension. We recommended parts again and Mr[member name removed] reluctantly agreed to purchase the and bring them to us for installation. Once again I recommended IKERD'S as the low price offering for the needed parts. We installed these parts and the parts that Mr [member name removed] ordered from another vendor. We then proceded to align the car. We ran into a problem with the front end. We initially believed and stated that the lower ball joints were too loose to allow for a proper alignment. we were mistaken in this belief. Upon further investigation we found that the frame was cracked and the crack is located at the lower right control arm rear attachment point. We showed this to Mrs [member name removed] and she agreed that the frame was in fact cracked. A proper repair would involve removing the body of the car from the frame and inspecting the entire frame for cracks. We admitted the mistake and were at a stopping point. Mr [member name removed] has misrepresented this issue with 3 Guys Garage, just as he did with Sanderlin's. I wonder how many other shops out there have been through this. To conclude, I decided to terminate any relationship with the [member name removed]. I am honest and I can prove it, I take it as a personal attack when someone says that we dont know what we infact know quite well. We are not afraid of admitting mistakes and we take corrective action upon the discovery of a mistake. Mr [member name removed] statement that we blame others is just untrue. We were and continue to be honest and open with ALL our customers and I openly challenge Mr [member name removed] to prove otherwise. We will stand by our work and our word. If we were as Mr [member name removed] states then how do I have any good reviews on this site? How do I attract clients who own cars worth in excess of 1 million dollars to bring their cars to us? If it can be proven that we are somehow deceptive or dishonest I want to know. I will publicly apologize on this forum and on facebook to any customer that can prove this and I will give them a full refund on ANY work we may have done. Sincerely, Tom Welch Owner 3 Guys Garage

I was having a drivability issue with my SUV. My car was becoming hard to start after it had been sitting for any period of time. I had tried all the obvious solutions...cleaned throttle body, changed fuel and air filter, etc but never had a check engine light come on through all of this. I explained this to one of the mechanics, and he went right to work. They ran a diagnostic check on my vehicle, and everything came back normal. I was worried it was a failing fuel pump, which would cost a few hundred in labor. But they were able to find that one of my relays was working intermittently, causing the starting issues. They ordered the part, it arrived in about 10 mins, took about 2 mins to change, and my starting problem was gone! Thinking the worst, it turned out to be a 40 dollar part that took a few mins to change. I will definitely take any of my vehicles back to these guys if another problem arises.

They are awesome. They are really good. I had a leak and I called them up, and they were here within an hour of closing. I had out-of-town guests that had a car problem, and they took them and took care of everything. They stayed late and did it at a reasonable price. I am indebted to them. I think they are awesome. They could have charged me a lot more, but didn’t. We have been going to them regularly for oil changes and other regular auto services, and they did good with that too. They are a bunch of country folks.
