I shoulda known better. The only way these guys can make any money is to and quot; findand quot; other things they and quot; just noticed and wanted to bring to my attentionand quot; that require prompt repair, of course. But they forgot to reset the button that tells the car that the oil has been changed, so now I have that light on all the time. So no, I would much rather pay more for an oil change and not have to pay for any unnecessary repairs.

They are good about identifying potential maintenance needs but I alsways review and selct only those thare a good value. For major repairs, I would use a shop that specializes in those repairs.

The letter-grade ratings above are neither as complete nor as accurate as they should be, or as I'd wish them to be, because they don't address the truly relevant questions to this encounter, and do address some that either weren't relevant or aren't part of the problems I had with this location of Wood and Fullerton. I'll explain below.
I had never used this provider previously, but my 10-year old minivan was nearing the point of needing an oii change. By happenstance, a local-coupon provider had a special for Wood and Fullerton for oil changes around that time. I have a place I trust where I usually get my car serviced, but for something as simple as an oil change, I figured getting a good deal on a simple procedure was fine. So, for a $20 web special, I bought the deal and on Monday, 6/17, I called to schedule an appointment.
That's when I ran into the first snag. Wood and Fullerton (the 1574 Holcomb Bridge location) told me (even though it was Monday) that they were already booking several days out. I guess it's good to be busy, but I'd never heard of a service center that backed up unless it was a car dealership itself. Wand F also told me, when I hesitated, that if I brought the car in that same day and was willing to drop it off instead of waiting, they would and quot;work it in,and quot; but it would be later in the day before I'd get it back. Since my wife was off work that day and thus could give me a ride, we chose that option.
We arrived at Wand F in the early afternoon - I can't remember exactly when, probably around 1:30. Everything went smoothly, redeeming the web-deal was snag-free, and the business seemed professional enough. So we left the car and went home, and waited. In fact, we waited until late enough in the day that I was starting to wonder whether I was going to get a call at all. I wasn't thrilled, but figured that's the perils of being and quot;worked into the schedule.and quot; But then, just before close of business (and, of course, dinner-time), I got a return call. They wanted and quot;to talk aboutand quot; the van. In my experience, when a service station calls you back and instead of saying and quot;it's ready for pickup, and quot; they say and quot;do you have a moment to talk, and quot; it's never good news. But such is automobile maintenance. Sigh...OK, sure: let's talk.
Long story short, they informed me that they'd changed the oil, but that the brakes were entirely shot on the entire van. Both front and back brakes needed to be replaced, they said. The front needed not only new pads, but the rotors were shot, too, and needed replacement. And the back (drum) brakes also needed to be replaced. Total cost? $600. Did they do this sort of work there at Wand F, I inquired? Why yes, it just so happens, they DO. What a coincidence.
I don't know whether it was just an uneasy feeling I had, or my desire to patronize my usual shop for more serious repairs rather than risk a large-ish amount of money at a business whose work I was unfamiliar with, but I eventually made a snap-judgement to decline the repairs and told them we'd just pick up the car. I asked how dire the brake situation was, and they said it would be and quot;very soonand quot; before we'd be and quot;scraping metal.and quot; That sounds bad, no doubt.
So the next morning, I drove the van to my usual, trusted shop, where I'd had significant repairs done well in the past. I did not give them all the details of what Wand F said, because I wanted an unvarnished opinion of my brakes. I did tell ECACC that a place I was getting my oil changed at told me the brakes needed work, so I brought it here.
Guess what my usual shop told me?
They said the rear (drum) brakes were and quot;dusty, but otherwise in great shape, and quot; and the front disc brakes needed pads, but the rotors looked fine and could be easily machined. Total cost? $260 out the door; less than half (and nearly two-thirds less) than what Wand F tried to get me to spring for.
I want to stress, I DID NOT tell my usual shop anything like I was under budget constraints or needed to keep costs to a minimum (because I am not and did not). I just told them the place I'd had the oil changed had said the brakes needed work, and let them come to their own conclusions based on checking it out for themselves. When they called back with their much less-expensive estimate, I knew I'd made the right decision. I authorized the work, and well before close of business my shop had my van back to me, with brakes running perfectly.
At the beginning of this review, I told you the letter-grade rankings weren't terribly applicable, and I'll repeat that, too. I can't really judge Wand F's quality of work, because I didn't have much work done and an oil change is about the least-difficult thing there is to do on a car. I mean: it seems fine, but that's not really the point of this review. So, while things that we're asked to grade here at angieslist like and quot;responsivenessand quot; and and quot;qualityand quot; seemed fine from the little bit I could observe, the average of the letter grades I give don't take into account the fact that Wand F APPEARS TO HAVE TRIED TO RIP ME OFF.
I don't know whether I just got one unscrupulous employee, or whether it was always the calculated business strategy of Wand F to issue a cheap web-special for a common procedure and then and quot;findand quot; all sorts of expensive other things on customers' cars that were and quot;urgentand quot; in order to generate revenue and make up for the loss-leader of a cheap web deal.
But does it really matter which of those things is true? When the most generous, best-case scenario I can imagine for why Wand F were ready to do major, unnecessary, expensive surgery on my van's brakes would only lead me to admit that maybe Wand F wasn't actively dishonest and thieving, but instead merely massively incompetent, does that fill you with confidence that Wand F is a place you really want to take your vehicle? What a truly competent shop recognized (and successfully completed) as a minor repair, Wand F wanted to charge me nearly triple for. Does it really matter whether they were dishonest or merely incompetent? Not to me, that's for sure.
Dodged a (financial) bullet this time, and wanted to make sure others don't wind up falling prey to what I almost did. Avoid this provider at ALL costs.

I had an excellent experience with them. They were excellent service. For instance, we went in there with a tire that had blown on our way out to vacation and rather then turn it into a bigger thing, they were able to repair it and ended up not even charging us, to be honest, in that case. But when we would bring the car in with mechanical problems, they would be honest about what we did and didn't need done and give us the options. I just like how they didn't seem to be anxious to do work that didn't need to be done.

We got there at around 3:30 pm on Thursday with assurances that they could let us know estimated that evening. I called before closing and they had not gotten to it yet. The next morning, I again called and was told that it would be 1300.00 worth of repairs. Not only would the front brakes need to be repaired with calipers, brake pads, rotors. The back brakes were leaking and would need to be completely replaced, including drums. I asked if they could just fix the front brakes, and I could come in later to fix the back brakes. I was told that it was unsafe to drive and they would not just do half the work. I stated that I would take it for a second opinion. I went and picked up my car, drove it to Honest 1 Auto and they said that the last time we had the brakes done - at wood and fullerton - the caliper was put on incorrectly and that is what caused the wear on the front right side. They fixed the problem for a total of 261.00. Big difference!

In servicing my care, I needed a new alternator. Woodson replaced the alternator. After a week, the alternator light started flickering. All electricals failed. I drove the care to Woodson who replaced the alternator at no charge. No haggling; very professional.

I heard a noise coming from the front right of the car while turning and accelerating.
I asked my spouse to have it looked at while I was traveling, and she took it to another shop. (Wood and Fullerton Goodyear is where we normally go.) I was told that the results of looking for the source of the noise was inconclusive, but that it was determined that tires and brakes were needed.
When I got back in town, I took my vehicle to Wood and Fullerton Goodyear to get the brakes and tires replaced. I was given an estimate for the brakes and tires separately. I received a call while my vehicle was in the shop being serviced to tell me that the brakes were fine and didn't need to be replaced for some time. About an hour later they called again and said that there axle was causing noise under acceleration while turning and I remembered that I had forgotten to mention it to them. I got a quote for the additional work and approved it.
When I arrived later that to to pick up my vehicle I saw that the total cost was below the estimate.
I have been getting the maintenance, tire replacements, and occasional repair done here for years. They've always done a great job, explained things well, and provided solid value for the cost of the parts and services. They finish their work when they say they will and have always kept me informed by calling me if there's any kind of change, positive or negative.

The guys at Goodyear Wood and Fullerton have been our trusted partners for tires and other minor services for our cars for years. They are always friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and honest. If you don't need something done, they'll tell you. If you do need something done, they'll clearly explain what are your options and then will provide a recommendation based on your personal situation and preference (not just the most expensive one).

It can be difficult finding an auto service shop that has integrity, but these guys have been at this location for years and truly enjoy what they do, believe in providing great service and care for their customers. I highly recommend them to anyone in the Roswell area who is looking for an honest company to work on their cars.

And for the ladies out there who may sometimes be intimated by talking cars with guys, my wife loves these guys. They never talk down to her or make her feel like she doesn't know anything. They take the time and explain the details and why it is important to get the service or replace the part...all in language my wife understands (not technical auto-speak).

I've been using Wood and Fullerton for years. They are always very honest., do a great job, and will work with you on price. I like that they never pressure me or try to upsell me. Good guys. My only issue is that it is tough to get in there on a Friday or Sat unless you call well in advance. Guess that's what you get for providing great service. Highly recommend.

They are excellent and outstanding. My wife drops her car off and tells them what she wants. They will always call when they finally give us an estimate. They describe what they are going to do. They describe what they recommend and they do it in English. They promise that they would get the work done at a certain time and they have it ready at that time. We have been dealing with them for a long time now. They own several stores and the one we deal with is on Holcombe Bridge road. The shop is always clean. They have a nice waiting area. It’s not only the manager, but the whole staff is friendly. So I like them. They are very reliable. They are not going to rip you off and so that’s not an issue. You don’t have to worry about their service. They will tell you when you need or don’t need something. They are extremely friendly.

Wonderful and honest mechanics. They don't even charge when they are unable to diagnose the problem in spite of spending more than an hour trying to do so. Another time there was a mix-up and my heater did not get repaired as I had asked. I wasn't charged for it, it had just been overlooked. They had me bring it back, corrected the problem and didn't charge me a red cent!

My water pump seized and took my serpentine belt with it while I was driving my 1996 Jeep G Cherokee. I called these guys immediately as I had used other Goodyear service centers in the past and I was near these guys. They promised me they could diagnose my problem and probably fix it within the afternoon. They were professional and specific. I had confidence in them as soon as I met them.

The name of the company that owns the franchise is Wood and Fullerton. They are excellent and we have been using them for years. They do all the standard maintenance on all of our cars but one. We have 3 cars. I have a brand new Lexus so I am still taking it to the dealer. Eventually I will take that car back to them. They are very punctual and when they say they are going to get a job done, they get it done on time. They always call us with a pre-quote. If they have any problems, they will call us before they proceed further. Their charges were reasonable and we were pleased with the price. My wife usually takes her car by herself without me and they don't take advantage of the female factor.

They are just super. They are great. Kevin, one of the guys there will call us if he thinks something is wrong with the car. He knows us really well. He even knows us by first name. They are very trustworthy and honest. I would send anyone there if their car was mechanically challenged. They did great with the tires and I am very pleased.
