This contractor did not show up for our scheduled appointment time. I tried callling and left a voice mail, but never got a call back with an explanation or an apology for the missed appointment.

Overgrown precisely described our backyard, so we called this aptly named company. They scheduled the work on the hottest day of the year, they showed up on time, and worked all day tremendously hard, despite the 100 degree temperature. They did a wonderful job, and our backyard is clean as a whistle.

Frank came out promptly to give an estimate and came the next day to do the job. He and his crew worked for 8 hours and did everything we asked. We are completely satisfied.

ON. IT. These guys took care of my "lawn mullet" and how! My call was returned within a couple of hours, Frank gave an estimate and the crew came out the next day. They completed the impossible in one day! Worth every cent! Highly recommend!

Frank and his crew were amazing! They arrived on time and worked so quickly. After two hours, I was suprised at how much had been accomplished. They expertly cleaned out an overgrown back yard and by far exceeded my expecations. Every square inch of ivy was removed from the house and yard which was taken right down to the dirt. I was so pleased with the outcome that I shed a little tear. I would definitely recommend their services!!

I called this company 2 times and both times they told me that they would come out the following day to provide an estimate for sodding my yard. Not only did they not show up, they never called back, never rescheduled. It wasn't so bad that they didn't come out--I understand being busy--but they didn't bother to let me know that they were not going to come out, nor did they offer to reschedule. Perhaps they don't need my business--if that is so, then have the courtesy to say so. To me, this is just rude and bad business.

I'd let it go for too long and needed a total clean up of my front, back, and side yards. I called Frank from Overgrown Backyards and he gave me an estimate within two hours. His team started working early the very next morning and were completely finished by 2:30pm or so. They worked like madmen! They chopped down two very problematic trees (one, a cyprus, was right up against the front of my house, growing down into the water main and up into the power lines), raked up all of the gross old leaves off the patio, completely cleaned out the side of the house that had weeds growing taller than the roof, cleaned the gutters, gutted all the weeds out of the flower beds, mowed the grass, pulled the ivy off the side of the house and back fence, pruned limbs off the trees, and trimmed all of the bushes. My yard looks amazing and my house looks so much bigger! I am thrilled and would hire Overgrown Backyards again in a heartbeat.

'The economy hasn't been a 'pal' to many of us, we've cut back, we've neglected areas of our responsibilities...one of mine was the fabulous lot my home sits on. I could not keep up w/the requirements after dismissing the 'use-to-be' yard maintenance group. It was a poor site, did keep some areas somewhat presentable, though. Winter came and could see the effects of neglect. Branches about from the wind/nature, weeds taking over, plants growing high above needed height for their location and it went on. Finally sat down, went to Angie's list, found a number of 'maintenance groups/landscapers/lawn groups, all had names/advertisements found in various areas; I pulled several different ones and interviewed, I purposely chose certain ones for I wanted to give them a chance in this 'you got a name' or 'you got a Big Company' then you have your foot in the door - syndrome, and many have proven their worth............. why not give the 'little guy' , 'small fellow', a chance. I am so glad I did, Mr. Thurston's Team did a decent, affordable, thorough job for me.

Our yard was covered with leaves and we had fallen branches in one area of the lawn. Frank Thurston called me back within one day, came to quote the job the following day and did the work, along with two other guys, on the third day. The original quote was $350, but about 3/4 of the way into the job, Frank knocked on my door and said that it was a much bigger job than he originally thought. He asked if an additional $175 was OK and apologized profusely about being off the mark with the original quote. All in all, 2 guys were at my house from 9:00am-1:00pm and hustled and worked tirelessly. Frank joined them around 1:00 and the three of them continued until 2:30. They hauled away 2 trailers full of yard waste and did a great job. The total price was a bit off-putting but a friend of mine suggested that I break it down... $525 divided by 5.5 hrs = $95 per hour; divided by 3 guys = $32 per hour I'd expect that the overall price does compare to other companies' services, it was a massive amount of work and the end result was fantastic.

When I called Frank, I asked for leaf clean up and removal. Upon arrival, he walked my yard and made various suggestions on trimming and other areas of clean up. I am glad I went with his suggestions! His work made a HUGE improvement on my front yard. (I hadn't really realized how bad I had let it go.) I spent more money than I originally intended; however, I got my money's worth! He did an outstanding job! He worked non-stop for 2.5 hours and my yard looks well groomed. I highly recommend Frank to anyone that needs yard work. (and I recommend that you listen to any additional suggestions he may offer!)

I had Frank meet me at the property at 9 in the morning. He arrived a little late due to a mix up with directions - not his fault - but got right to work. He walked around the property with me, asking clear and direct questions about what I wanted, including a number of points that hadn't occurred to me. He quoted a price for the whole job, and I agreed with a handshake. Frank then asked when I would want the work done. When I said, "as soon as possible", he offered to assemble a crew and have the work done that same day. The work was done by five o'clock that same afternoon. The work exceeded my expectations: the roof and gutters were immaculate, the shrubs were well tamed, and the yard was in better trim than I'd ever seen it; all the brush, weeds, and leaves had been carted away, and the walkways swept clean. The quality of the result suggest that Frank and his crew exercised a meticulous attention to detail. On the whole, an impressive day's work.
