This company was very upfront about being completely booked for services. I appreciate not having to waste time on a false lead.

I contacted this company about doing some yard work. They were, at first quick to respond. They were very busy, they said, but would try and come out and do an estimate. Eventually, we discussed him coming out on a Sunday to come by the house. Sunday rolled around and I received a phone call. Not, as I was anticipating, saying they were on their way, but saying that they had so many estimates that day they couldn't make it here. I did not mention that I was supposed to be one of those estimates as I was annoyed, so felt it better to say nothing. We then discussed the possibility of them coming out the following Thursday. I have not heard from them since. I understand that they are busy, and if they are that busy that they cannot give estimates they need to bloody well say so. I'd rather receive a responsible, "We are unable to help you at this time." Than this stupid waiting game. Very disorganized. Very unprofessional.

I had a badly neglected yard that needed clean-up to prepare it for a landscaping project. I called Mr. Thurston on a Thursday and made an appointment for a free estimate. He never fulfilled that request, and almost a week later, I had to start over with a different---and much more responsive---lawn care service provider. Overgrown Backyards is strongly overrated. Their lack of professionalism cost me 5 days of good weather, when we could have been making substantial progress on our lawn project. Do not rely on this business.

Frank came out on Saturday and gave us a quote and started work on Monday! We were impressed at how quick he turned everything around and the end result. Highly recommend Frank and his crew! Fabulous job!! Thank you!

Frank was extremely responsive and the work done was excellent. I would definitely recommend him with any yard work you need.

They were very good about helping us out by doing the job last minute.

It took Frank several days to get back to me. When he called he explained that due to the nice weather he had been very busy and was trying to catch up. He came out a few days later and gave me quote that was $50 higher than one quote I had received already. I told him that the other company was $50 lower and that I was waiting for one other quote. He did not change his quote, so I went with the cheaper quote. All and all, I understand being busy and a slight delay at getting back to me, but to lose a job for $50 was his choice.

Frank & crew showed up on time as scheduled. Very hard workers, neat and professional. Will definitely rehire in the future and also recommend his services to friends and neighbors. Job well done at a good and fair price.

Franks came out for free estimate. Job was done very well. Good communication. Did more than expected.

I called them in a bind as my usual lawn service was unable to reschedule with me before my trip. I called Frank and he was able to come out and give me a quote the next day. I had one other service come out and Frank's proposal was much more reasonable. They were able to get the job done prior to my trip, which was a huge relief. They did a thorough job unlike many services who are in and out within an hour and you're still left with weeds. They spent several hours cleaning up weeds and leaves in the beds. I expected them to use the blower as that would have been much easier, but Frank did not want to get everything dirty which I really appreciated. I liked that they took care to complete everything to my expectations.

The job could not have gone more smoothly. I met with Frank on a Wednesday, I was happy with the price and they completed the job the following Saturday. I appreciated the attention to detail given to the job. Would definitely recommend and hire again.

Frank was very responsive to give me a quote. He and his crew were here five days later. The yard had been over grown for the past three years, and becuase of family medical issues we hadn't been able to keep up with yard work. Frank and his crew came in, and in one day totally cleaned up over grown weeds, trees, bushes, and took down an old dog fence we had and were no longer using. They were really just wonderful. They were so great that our nieghbor hired them to clean up his yards the next day, and he hasn't kept up with his yard work for almost ten years! They were wonderful, and the best! I would hire these guys in a heart beat, and they are definitely in my contacts for future yard work! I recommend them to anyone and everyone!

They did a good job. I was happy with their work. They even came back the next day and hauled off an old sofa bed and couch.

WOW,WOW,WOW - what a difference. Completely removed all bunches, weeds, pulled up all large rocks, put down weed fabricate spread mulch (very thick) my front yard looks beautiful. Frank's crew was excellent, VERY hard working, on time for the job, couldn't believe how hard they worked. Did an EXCELLANT job. I am very very pleased with the service. I will use them again for my gutters and leaves this fall, Great job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Called Frank and he said he'd come by the next week and give me a quote. Never called back. After about 3 weeks I texted him and asked if he was ever coming out and he called me right back and apologized and said he'd be there Thursday. I texted several times during the week asking if he was coming and at what time. Heard nothing until he texted me Wednesday night and he said he would be there Thurs. I asked him what time and got no response and he never showed up on Thursday. I was a repeat customer and I thought they did good work at a fair price, but I am done with them. Too dysfunctional for me.

Our approximately one acre property was totally overgrown and out of control. Frank and his crew did a fantastic job in making us the pride of the neigborhood. The front and back yards were cut, trimmed and edged. Bushes and trees were trimmed according to our specifications. The garden area was weeded and worked on as we requested. The kudzu that was beginning to overtake the rear of the property was cut. The house gutters were cleaned. All debris was gathered and removed. The work crew was prompt in arriving, was well trained, and was polite and courteous. We would not hesitate to use Frank and his crew again.

The job was done quickly and professionally. Everything looks great!

I called them a week ago for a quote. They told me I would receive a call within a couple days. Still have not received a call, and nobody answered when I tried to call back.

When we talked the next morning he told me that the $1200 was only to do the backyard and remove the deck! That amount didn't include doing the whole yard even though the whole yard was obviously a forest of overgrown weeds and brush and several weeks ago I know we had discussed doing the whole yard. Frank then said he would go back by the house with his crew of men and give me an estimate on doing the whole yard. I wasn't able to meet him at the house that day and instead called another yard company who gave me an estimate of $350 so I went with them and they did an excellent job!

Frank came out to give me a quote on Tuesday and was done with the work on Thursday. He and his crew were very efficient and worked very hard! The area they cleared out looked like a jungle before they started. They also skillfully took down some small trees near our roof. They worked all day and cleaned up after themselves. I am very satisfied with the work!

Frank and his team did an excellent job. I have to say it was a tad pricey but had him out twice, once for $750 to clean up debris, and then again to remove a fallen tree out of my creek area for $350. I could not find anyone to do the job, since it was very dirty, and in an area that was behind a fence, and needed a lot of work., and found Frank on Angies list based on his name of the company. He was timely, proficient, pleasant, and did a excellent job. Would hire him again 100%.

. We had storm debris in big piles in our very inaccessible back yard for more than six weeks. Though I was specific about the size of the debris pile - large limbs, cut up logs from a down tree, etc. - other companies either didn't show up when they said they would or showed up and announced that this wasn't something that they could do. That's why I was so thrilled to find Overgrown Backyards on Angie's List. They came out when they said they would, made a quick review, and gave me a fair amount for the removal. They arrived the day they said they would and then removed all of the debris PLUS cut down some low hanging branches and blew off all of my decks. I work in property management and this is the type of work I demand and get on commercial properties but that I rarely see delivered in a residential setting. Please know that this company is for the yard/property that is the big mess - the abandoned house, the overgrown rental property, foreclosure, etc. This is NOT a general landscaping company to put out pinestraw and mow your yard. I'm sure they are good at that, but there are other general landscaping companies that will do that cheaper. These guys are for the really big job that no one else will do - I'm going to recommend them to all of my friends in property management!

The work crew was prompt and professional. Response was on short notice. Everyone seemed to know what they were doing and the crew was impressive in how well everyone worked together. My wife and I are completely happy with the work and would not hesitate to use Overgrown Backyards for future work.
