The owner, Jay, came to my home and resolved the problem and he apologize for the miscommunication.  I was very sorry that I wrote a bad review initially, but I was upset.  To anyone reviewing this post please know that Jay is a great person and businessman, his company is right on point.
I also decided to hire him again to do some additional work that was needed to my roof.   He gave me a great price!

After Jay removed the squirrels, I told him there was still an odor. He advised me that he would be picking up his girls because it was coming upon Easter weekend. However, he told me that if I still smelled a foul odor to call him and he would come back out. Well, I waited several days and called to report a very foul odor in the bathroom area which was very strong unlike it was before.

Although he was on vacation, he told me that he would have his partner contact me to fix the problem. I  received a message from his partner and return the call but no response. I contacted Jay and told him that I had not heard from his partner, so he called him and I immediately received a phone call. His partner advised that they were very busy, but would get someone to come to the house on Saturday, March 26th at 10:00 am. The morning of the 26th I waited until 11:00 am. I had shopping to do for my Easter dinner and could not wait any longer. I return home around 2:00 pm and there were no message left on my home number, which they have. Partner Friday, March 25th at 4:30 pm just before leaving work. We confirm for Saturday, March 26th at 10:00 am, so Jay's message to me was quite confusing. When I met the owner (Jay) for the first time I advised him that I "cut off" my cellular once I walk into my house because I have a "landline". I do not live on my cellular like most people.

On Sunday, March 27th I cut my cellular phone back on and had received several messages from Jay noting that they tried to reach me on my cellular on Friday, March 25th and had not gotten an answer to confirm the appointment. I was confused because I had already confirmed the appointment with his partner. By this time I was very upset with the back and forth and told Jay I would get another contractor to do the job that Smart Solutions did not complete and contact Angie's list for a discount.

We have used 2 other squirrel/rodent proofing companies in the past.  This was our best experience and I believe we got top-quality work.  I found this company by noticing which companies my neighbors use.  Lots of their business comes from customer referrals.  The 2 partners in the company do most of the work themselves.  They do not send poorly trained or unsupervised hired workers to your house.  They take before and after pictures while they are working so you can see their work without climbing a ladder.  In my case, they found many instances where a prior workman's work left gaps.  Squirrels had already found those gaps and were enlarging them.   Smart Solutions had to redo much of our prior workmen's work.  Since Jay and Shawn finished working I have not had any squirrel noises in our attic . Both men  are very professional and trustworthy.  They are also likeable and easy to get along with.   This was a very good experience from start to finish.

Outstanding customer service in terms of professionalism, courtesy, and knowledge.  The kind of contractor who is not satisfied until the customer is satisfied.  Willing to work on the problem until it is solved.

I discovered that we had a squirrel who seemed to have climbed inside our chimney.  We tried to remove the squirrel ourselves, with no success.  It seemed insistent on staying in the chimney, even though it didn't seem to be very happy there.  We were leaving town in two days, and wanted to get it taken care of as soon as possible.  We called several companies from Angie's List.  All were very responsive, even though it was past 6 pm.  We decided on Smart Solutions, because they had great reviews and could come out the next morning. 
The technician, Shawn, was running a bit late but, as promised, called to let us know.  When he arrived, he tried to shake the squirrel out (it was sitting right above the flue) and reach in and grab it.  No luck.  So he constructed a barrier, using a squirrel trap and wire on the outside of our fireplace, and tried to make it fall out into the trap.  Still no luck.  So he climbed to the top of the chimney, removed the cap, and stuck a pole down to make a racket and scare the squirrel out.  Still no success.  Then he tried throwing a bunch of tennis balls we had, down the chimney, to try and force the squirrel out.  With the last tennis ball, he also banged the pole inside the chimney, making noise, while we shook the flue open and closed.  Finally, the squirrel fell out and into the trap.  Everyone was ecstatic.
After that, Shawn put wire around the intake on top of the chimney, to prevent future animals from getting in.  In all, he was probably there for two hours, which I'm sure he didn't plan on.  But he kept battling until he successfully evicted the squirrel.  I would definitely hire them again.  Thanks, Shawn!

Jay was great to work with...he was prompt, knowledgeable and didn't try to oversell me on services I didn't need.  Overall Jay did a great job and I would highly recommend him.

Peace and quiet!!  No more worries about rodents chewing through wires, scratching on the ceiling, or messing with insulation.  The work was excellent.  I would highly recommend Jay and Smart Solutions for other jobs.  They are first class professionals.  They are very knowledgeable and took time to make sure that I understood the process and exactly what services I was getting for my money.  Jay did not try to nickel and dime me.  He was timely to appointments and communicated well throughout the process.

We were very pleased with the service.  Jay was always willing to work with our schedules to arrange time for the various work needed, including interior and exterior repairs.  We have a large home with a lot of roof area, some very high, and it took some time to get all of the work done, considering weather conditions. The solution for eliminating the squirrels and preventing re-entry was explained in clear terms.  He showed us photos taken of the entry points, and photos showing clear evidence of their activity in our attic. He also provided "after" photos showing the completed work.  We did have another company come out to check the problem, and they were not nearly as comprehensive with the repairs suggested, and tried to sell gutter guards.  
The only reason for a B instead of A on professionalism is that they don't wear uniforms or have identifying signs on vehicles.

Mark and Shawn were true professionals with integrity.  It was obvious that they were more concerned about the squirrel problem at hand and not running up a huge bill.   I interviewed 3 wildlife control companies..  Smart Solutions was the only one that did not try to upsale services..    When they came out for the estimate, they went to work to investigate what the issue was and how to solve it.   They immediately found the point of entry while the other companies did not.   Also, they were punctual and were careful to make sure the problem was solved before getting paid.   

Jay Vincent, the owner of Smart Solutions, answered my initial call while snowed in at the Denver airport. He promised to visit as soon as he could get back to Atlanta and he did. When he returned he did thorough examination of the attic. He took pictures on his iPhone and showed us the evidence and tentatively identified the critters as flying squirrels based on their litter pattern. He and his assistant laid traps and added additional ones until a critter was caught. Then they monitored these traps over a number of weeks. When no further sounds were heard or evidence was found in the attic, they sealed the opening.
Jay also managed to remove the odor of a dead critter that trapped itself behind a wall. He did this opening a wall or causing any repair work that would have been needed to remove the animal. 
I appreciated Jay's straightforward manner. He was conservative in his approach to the critter removal and barrier construction.

Went well overall, Shawn and Mike developed a plan with me and then they executed the plan on-time and within budget. They were very responsive in removing trapped animals and even just checking on set traps in case something was caught in the attic. Overall a good job. We agreed to pay a significantly higher rate than other bidders because of their construction experience and used that experience to close up the access and exit holes that the animals used to get in and out. So far, no returning pests!

They were great and they did everything they promised they would do. It took a little longer to catch the animal. They did good work on closing up the points in my house that the animal was using to get in.

Smart Solutions met with us the day after we called.  They were very professional in evaluating and describing what they found and developed a reasonable plan to resolve the issue.  During the entire process they were professional, timely and responsive.

Jay and Sean were very responsive to my rodent problem. we had squirrels in the attic that were destroying the fascia and just having a squirrel party up there. smart solutions inspected the entire home...took pics and showed me the damage these furry freeloaders were causing. they set humane traps and relocated the critters including chipmunks...checked them daily and then sealed the holes, repaired the damage and offered a one year follow up . I haven't heard anymore roof scampering...although the chipmunks are back and I want to see how this follow up process will work. I'll let you know.
