It is a deck at my backyard. It did not go well. I’ve had a couple of other contractors out here. There were a lot of hard edges on the deck, the railings were not secure and it’s sinking in the center of the deck. The railings on the deck rock back and forth. The posts are not lined up properly and are not straight; so the railings are not straight. I ended up spending about $7000 or $8000 on the deck and to repair it it’s going to cost $4000. I might as well start all over again. The day they started the work, it started raining and they were supposed to roll the sod, but they rolled it only one side. On the side that they rolled, the sod lived. On the other side, since it wasn’t rolled, the sod died. The owner of the company ended up coming out and told me that they would not replace the sod, as I didn’t have a sprinkler system. It was his opinion that the sod died, as I didn’t have a sprinkler system. It was really odd, as I didn’t have a sprinkler system on the other side either. They never came back to roll the other side due to which it died. I’ve had enough and will never want to go through this stuff again. I found out that I paid way too much. According to the other estimates that I received, I found out that I had paid $3000 extra. The other issue was that there were too many people, dealing the job. One person came out who called herself the landscaping architect. We talked about what I wanted, and she never communicated that to the guy, who actually came out to build the deck. She said she did, and he said that she didn’t. On the deck that I took down, I had all of the boards going in one direction. On the new deck, I wanted a patch work to be done; a design where some of the boards are in one direction, while some going in another. I left while they were building the deck, and when I came back, all the boards were going in one direction. When I inquired about it and tried to get them to fix it, initially they were going to fix it. Then mysteriously the owner decided that it was too big a job and he couldn’t change it. I didn’t get what I had contracted for and the workmanship on the deck was absolutely horrible. I called them at least 25 times and they never picked my calls. He wouldn’t return the phone calls. Finally the only reason I had an opportunity to speak with him, was because we called one day from a different phone, and he accidentally picked up the call. I would never recommend him to anyone, or ever do any business with him again. First they tell me they would change the direction of the board, once my credit card bill was cleared, which would take 3 days. After the bill cleared, I could not get in touch with him. It was only 4 months later when he finally came out and told us that it would cost us too much and that it wouldn’t need to be changed. I would not incur the cost, as it was their fault. Some of the other problems were boards splitting and were not tight, there were gaps and we can see the ground through. It wasn’t good, and I should have gone to somebody else. They are very professional when you start off with them. The construction staff is not good. All of the lawn people do not speak English. Even in trying to communicate with them, it is almost impossible. One of the guys did speak English, as far as the laying of the sod was concerned. Again we went through the same drill with the sod. He came out three times for it. Initially he said he would replace it and then he refused to replace saying we didn’t have a sprinkler system. The owner has told me he won’t be able to do anything.

They were very helpful, but when they saw where I lived, they didn’t want to make a trip out so far, which I could understand.
