Hey [Member name removed], Just saw this review, we don't really participate on Angie's List as they charge people to be members. We have 3,000 existing customers, we've been booked out 2-3 months since when you left this review until now if not further out and in the year you wrote this, 2013, we also had approx. 3,000 inbound calls and emails requesting estimates not including our existing customers or their referrals. I'm not saying that to make an excuse, just the explain and frame my answer so that it makes sense and is relative to both you and the other readers of this review. That said, I'm truly sorry that we your call fell between the cracks! From the numbers above you can probably see though that a). we weren't out of business and b). we were just constantly under staffed. I wish I could tell you that I'm sad about all those leads, referrals and existing customers, but I'm not. I am sad that we couldn't service you and all of them. Truth be told, 80-90% of those that called in 2013 had to use another contractor, not because we weren't the best quality nor most affordable that were licensed and insured, but because we just couldn't find enough quality help and so it was better to take a pass. Many wait 2-3 months for us to get to their project or work request. On bigger jobs, it takes 2-3 months to get the drawings done, pull the permits, etc. so we go ahead and order things like windows, special order flooring, cabinets, etc that take 3-6 weeks to come in and that way the material is all available when we start to do the demo. This has really worked out to be a better method/system all around so is a benefit of us being 2-3 months out. Now, there are some clients that have been with us 10-15 years, using us 3-10 times/year and referring us out all the time. These are our platinum clients, and for them, if they need something small or have an emergency, i.e. basement flooded, water heater burst, etc. then we keep some margin and will reschedule for them as needed to return and respect their loyalty as it should be. Now, if we could have just run right over and did your bid, started your job the next day, etc. well then, we'd be about like the folks out there working out of their back of their trucks and it wouldn't reflect well that we were so available. That said, my teams and I kinda like to wear our 2-3 months out with pride, because that kind of client base and phone ringing is the result of affordable craftsmen (quality, done right first time) with good marketing to boot and taking care of our existing clients for years. I call that the American Dream. One more time [Member name removed], I'm sorry we missed the chance to get with you two years ago, and I know it's only 10-20% likely we could have made our schedules work (cuz that's a statistic we keep up with), but I sure believe you woulda loved our work and would have learned to wait 2-3 months for us from then out ;-) Course by now, you've be 2 years in on the 5+ years it would be until you'ld be a platinum customer getting all those perks and preferential treatment. So, give us another try if you feel like it, plan on it being scheduled out 2-3 months and we'll take care of it for you. And to show we're such good sports, we'll even give you credit in your file for the lost 2 years so you can be a platinum customer sooner than later! To anyone reading this review, please don't call us, A+ rated everywhere but here (Angie's List, cuz we don't care), and then think we'll do your work for 1/2 the fair price and come out tomorrow like the desperate folks on Craigs List. We'll be a fair price for an very good job, that's our value proposition, it's in our name, we're Affordable Craftsmen, not Stupid Desperate Cheap Vagabond Carpentry Rockstars LOL :-) Oh shoot, last thing [Member name removed] if you're still reading...do you generally make it a habit of giving companies an "F" when they've never even called you back nor done any work? Just my opinion, but seams kinda "Bitter" and "Petty"...kinda like an old guy got nothing better to do but complain and carry on eh? I'm only hardly seen people get these kind of "Bitter" and "Senseless" reviews on Angie's List, that's why we just have chosen to pass on it. Best we can figure, since you paid your $50/year or so, you feel entitled to post even though it's just "Bitter"? Well, I for one want to say THANK YOU! It's this kind of post makes us look the best and if by some chance, you saved someone from calling us cuz you know "we didn't call you back", well that's great cuz we couldn't have handled the extra work if we tried LOL, so thanks again. Maybe at this point [Member name removed], we'll just pass on you giving us another try, hard as that is and darn bad as we surely want it, I think now that I realized that you gave us an "F" for just not calling back...you can just use the other folks, hopefully some from Craigs List, they're much easier to reach than us...heck they'ld love your call sir and you surely, surely would get your money's worth ;-)
