The quality of work was SUPERB. What should have taken less than six months took over two and a half years!! Workers showed up whenever know communication from the GC. GC rarely came to the job site to monitor the work. Responsiveness to text, calls, and emails was almost nonexistent; only when picking up payment, would I be given one day's notice. I want this project to be over so I do not have to deal with this company ever again. I've lost so much money I can't even explain how stressful this project was. Buyer Beware! Empty promises time and time again. If you don't mind your project taking forever, they will do a good job. The only assurance as a homeowner is that the County comes in to inspect the work at the end of each phase.

I selected MHI to complete my basement remodel after getting 4 quotes from other contractors. Marshall was not the cheapest but his prices were very competitive and I was able to go see his work first hand since his team was finishing another basement in a nearby neighborhood. Once I saw his work I was sold. They started the project in August and finished in January which was a little longer than the original timeframe quoted however, they finished over 2000 square feet that included a home theater and full kitchen with bar. The MHI team did an excellent job and didn't nickel and dime me for changes I requested along the way. Marshall was very engaged and stopped by frequently throughout the process. If I ever had a question, he was just a phone call away. We were extremely pleased with the final outcome and would absolutely recommend MHI without hesitation.

Referred to MHI by a friend that has used them in the past. Project included a kitchen and bathroom remodel. The cost of the job was very reasonable and the workers were polite abd friendly. Marshall was attentive to the work quality and wanted to be sure we were satisfied with the end product. We now have a beautiful kitchen and bathroom that we love.

I think they did a beautiful job on my basement . Everyone always compliments my place because of their craftsmanship. I couldnâ t have asked for a more perfect space to live.

Do not hire this company if you want your project completed. Started the project (finish basement) on Jan 6 and now Aug 30, it is still not done. Was told it would be done in 2 weeks back in May. Would only work one day a week (Wed) until we started calling and pushing to get it done. We were never late or missed a payment. Communication was terrible. Forgot details of the project several times, probably because it was not written down. We have been trying to contact them for 2 weeks now and no response or call back. Again, DO NOT HIRE MHI REMODEL. They will not finish your project.

I recently purchased a home with the intentions of moving my mother from a senior assistive-living facility to residing at the new home in a separate, fully functional living space/in-law suite. Additionally, itâ s always been a desire to have a nice home theater. MHI was able to fulfill both of those demands. I searched home advisor and requested an estimate from three different companies. MHI responded and came out to do an onsite assessment of the unfinished basement the following day. I shared with them my â wish listâ of items that I wanted for my motherâ s â apartmentâ to include a bedroom, living area, kitchenette and bathroom with walk-in shower w/ sitting bench and also the theater. Marshall provided feedback on his ideas of meeting those requests and provided a rough schematic during the onsite assessment of what he was envisioning. A couple days letter I received an estimate of the work with a breakdown of payment schedule and we agreed on the contract. I thought his pricing was very fair and competitive based upon other estimates for the project that I was requesting. I think his 20+ years of experience in this business is evident when interacting with him in regards to home improvement project which is somewhat comforting when taking on a project/investment of this magnitude. As far as the project went with finishing the basement, MHI exceeded my expectations of providing an in-law suite that is functional and esthetically pleasing for my mother and a great home theater that the entire family will enjoy. Although there were some hiccups and delays along the way (which isnâ t unusual for a project this size), Iâ m very satisfied with the outcome and my mother loves her new place. Iâ ve already recommended MHI to a couple of neighbors and friends, which I wouldnâ t have done if I didnâ t truly feel that the end product was good. I thought that the entire MHI staff was professional and accommodating. Ms. Debra (office manager/administrative assistant) was very nice and a pleasure to work with throughout the process and Marshall is very responsive when you call or text him (even on the weekend or in the evening). I recommend MHI for any large scale, home improvement project that you may have.

Ditto on the review 8/27/19. If you want subpar workmanship with lots of mistakes (several failed inspections), hire this company. We have spent thousands of dollars on an addition to get a few extra sqft and it last over 8 months for a 2 1/2 month job. The contractor is rude, nasty, disrespectful and doesn't honor any thing he promised even if it's in the signed contract. And LIES like a rug. I have lost hair, weight and sleep dealing with Marshall and his people. I even had 2 deaths in the family during this time and that did not compare to the pain and headache of dealing with Marshall. None of them respect your space and barge in YOUR place as they please. Nonresponsive by ignoring calls, texts and emails. Sometimes we dont see or hear from them for 2 to 3 weeks at a time. So if you have average expectations, lower it a few notches or you will be very disappointed. Will be reporting to BBB.

The worst contractor experience we've ever had and we've had at least twelve different companies do various work in and around our home. Work quality was acceptable, not above average in any way but for the lowest of three bids I suppose it is what we paid for. One room, a half bath with a closet, and refresh of the stairwell took five and a half months. At several points over that time there may have been two to four hours of work done over two or three weeks time. Trash was left, not bagged, in an open pile for two months until we had to clean it up ourselves. There was almost no communication between the person in charge and the crews doing the work. The person in charge would only respond with sarcastic dismissal at any critical comments made toward the progress or quality of the work. One inspection failed and MHI tried to charge us for the additional inspection fee. In our opinion, this is the type of company that gives contractors a bad name.

Marshall has to be reminded over and over just to complete things that he promised he would do. Two years after MHI extended our deck, there were noticeable areas that needed attention, not to mention railing that was not sturdy. After multiple conversations, and contact attempts, Marshall has still yet to honor his 3 year warranty guarantee. I AM DONE with MARSHALL and MHI. Worst customer service EVER.

I can't believe the person they sent to evaluate the work. He knocked the door and no smile. That was the first indication he wasn't interested. I asked for some patch work and then rest of the work was to rebuild. He was extremely rude said he didn't want the job and said I was cheap and left.. This company had no clue what the job entailed I was willing to spend over 20k on the job. Just from this experience I would never recommend this company very unprofessional. I have worked with many contractors and this is far the worst company. If I could go negative in ratings I would.

Be careful about the commitment specially the Warranty. The new AC unit in my basement started having problem in 3 month. When I tried to contact Marshal for resolution the attitude was non responsive and rude. Stay away from him. Every stage of the project you have to fight with him for on time completion. He took 9 months to finish my basement instead of 4 months he committed. He may give a lower price but be ready for a very stressful experience.
