Southeast Restoration Group
About us
Southeast Restoration Group (SRG) is an award-winning, licensed general contractor specializing in insurance repair claims. These claims range from total fire loss to storm & hail damage. Our mission is simple yet the absolute core of our business: To restore lives while repairing property. It might make more sense for us to put “repairing property” first since that is what we do, operationally speaking. However, as our President and CEO Ben Looper likes to remind us, restoring lives always comes first because we care most about people. SRG offers several different services, including 24/7 emergency repair, tree removal, and board up services. We are proud to be the first general contractor to offer Emergency Living Units (ELU) to our customers. Our ELU’s are equipped for homeowners of major losses to stay on site and not leave their damaged property unattended. Ultimately, we structurally restore homes with top quality project management and craftsmanship. Our project managers are the hands and feet of our operations and are professional and relational. A recent homeowner stated she felt as though the project manager had become a part of the family. For us, that is a wonderful reward. Coverage Area: SRG covers all of North Georgia and well as the Southwest corner of the state. Our branch offices are located in Athens, Calhoun, Canton, and Columbus. -Certifcations: HAAG Certified EPA Lead-Safe Certified Firm BBB Accredited- Awards & Recognition: 2007 & 2011 Performance Excellence Award- Crawford Contractor Connection 2010 Excellence in Innovation Award- Lt. "We are sorry to hear the feedback on your project and apologize that you did not have an exceptional experience. After reviewing the project further, I feel it is important to clarify that we do agree that the timeline on the project was longer than we targeted as well. However, in many cases our trade partners were not allowed access to the property and encountered further delays due to your availability. The trade partners mentioned in your email have been trusted members of our team for many years and speak clear English. The paint for baseboards was color matched to the existing trim in the rest of the home, which is standard practice unless the customer requests a color change, which was not requested. We do appreciate your feedback and will take all the items mentioned into consideration for opportunities to improve the service we offer our customers."
"[Member Name Removed], Thank you for taking the time to speak with me yesterday. We will take your feedback into consideration as it is our goal to provide an excellent experience for every customer. Anytime a customer requests changes to the scope of work, it is our goal that all questions are addressed in a written and signed Change Order. We acknowledge that you felt you were being presented an Invoice and not a Change Order to the original contract. I regret that we were unable to find a way to accommodate your requests after the job had been completed and paid in full. We will be taking this as a learning opportunity in our continued commitment to serving with excellence!"
"Upon notice of property damage and request to repair, a tarp was placed on the roof to serve as a temporary repair until permanent repairs could be made. The tarp is serviceable to mitigate further damage in non-adverse conditions but due to the strong winds from additional storms in the area, the tarp could not adequately secure the property. The customers concerns were immediately addressed and the job was completed timely and to satisfaction in Sept of 2013. SRG did not receive any communication regarding complaints or requests for warranty repair from Mrs. [member name removed] from the time the job was completed until May 2014 concerning a small roof leak from a dormer which was immediately addressed and corrected."
"While SRG was performing property repairs to the customers home, we were made aware that the condensation pump in the crawlspace home failed, and was unrelated to the repairs being performed at the time. The subsequent and unrelated damage was confirmed by her insurance carrier and another contractor. The moisture from the failed condensation pump and the water it generated caused the new floors that were installed from the previous loss to warp. As a courtesy to the homeowner and in an attempt to help her with this issue SRG extracted the water and dried her crawlspace without charging for the services. The homeowner is not in agreement with the independent findings of the insurance carrier and contractor on the cause of floor warping being caused by the condensation pump and is therefore disputing outstanding balance owed to SRG."
