Everything went well. All work was done when and how promised. Very professional = would definitely used them again. - Very please with the work and communication.

I can't say enough good things about Jeff, Amy, and the crew. From the very first contact, which was an apology for taking (GASP!) 24 hours to respond to my request for information, to the final day here to finish up some details it was a pleasure working with them. His crew showed up when they said they would, worked all day without ever leaving the job site, explained what was happening in each next step, notified me who would be here every day, and let me know when they were finished up for the day and going home. I expected his pricing to be much higher than the other estimates I got for the 3 projects we will eventually be doing with DMC. I was wrong. The numbers were very close, even lower on some components than those I got from 2 other contractors. And he included more. There were no communication issues. The deck is complete and we will be moving on with two other projects in October. We will ultimately be investing about $24,000 in these renovations. You will not be disappointed if you choose to hire DMC.

Because we had asbestos siding previously, that had to removed by a specialist. We interviewed about 4 contractors for installing the hardy plank. I say "interviewed" rather than got quotes from because my comfort level with the contractor is at least as important as the price. If something goes wrong, I want to know that I trust who I'm working with and that they are not going to be difficult when things don't go the way they should. From that standpoint, Jeff passed with flying colors. He's down to earth in person, but also conveys a sense of honesty and integrity. His pricing was good - almost too good - and that concerned me a bit, but my read of his personality made me trust him. I'm glad I did. He and the crew did a great job - scheduling was efficient, the job was completed and the house looks great. Jeff made a point to double check with me several times to make sure everything was fine. If I remember, we had the crew come back out for some touch up painting. I was happy with the job. However, about 7 months later, one day I noticed a slim strip of about 2 inches along the side of the back porch that did not get covered with the siding. It's kind of hard to notice, and also sort of in a spot that creates a judgement call on whether it's best to leave it as is or cover, because it is wedged against the existing porch infrastructure. But once I noticed it, I couldn't get it out of my head, so I contacted Jeff. To my surprise, he responded right away and told me no problem, he'd take care of it. He had a crew out within 6 days and now it looks perfect. This last interaction with Jeff is what really cemented the fact I will contact him again for future projects. I'm in a service industry also, and I know that no company is perfect - what really matters is how a company reacts to situations. I was really worried that even if Jeff responded, that 7 months after the fact I'd have a very hard time getting him to do anything about it or having to haggle over scheduling or price, etc. Jeff did this with no discussion at all - scheduled it, done. Highly recommended.

They did a great job. They offered a great price. They completed the work in a timely manner. The result looked great. He was very good about keeping in touch with us and returning our calls, giving us a kind of an update on their progress and what to expect as far as how the project was moving along.

Overall it was awesome. We love everything! He was always in touch, and if there was ever anything we didn't like he changed it without any hesitation. His crew was always on time, and worked very hard. The only thing we have to complain about was the painting. It was almost like whoever painted did not prime properly, therefore, there were many instances of paint chipping immediatly after the painting was done. Also, since we had exposed brick, the painter did not really pay attention to what they were doing and got paint all over our brick. We told Jeff and he was more than happy to fix it, and he did and it looks wonderful. I am very happy with our new room. The only reason we gave a B for quality was because of the painting.

Jeff & Amy were helpful and responsive from the very start. Their employees and subcontractors showed up as scheduled and were thoroughly professional. Questions, concerns and requests were addressed promptly. DMC was a pleasure to work with and I will use them in the future should I have additional remodeling projects.

Great service, professional, honest and I will use them for future projects. Only timing that was miss estimated was out of DMC's control. Nice work, nice people

This was a great company to work with. High quality work, great price. Came back for touch ups even after full payment was made. I would recommend this company highly to anyone looking to have a basement finished, or for any other home improvement job.

From the first contact to the last bill DMC Home Improvement have been very professional and a delight to work with. All work was done on time or early. Cant say enough about them

At the outset, Jeff was punctual, honest, and creative. He had ideas about how to improve the space that I wanted to renovate and steered me away from some of my more "amateur" ideas that would have turned out poorly. When the work began, I interacted with several of his sub-contractors who were also very professional and had nothing but good things to say about Jeff and his work. Put simply, Jeff is an honest man that is good at his craft. That is the type of person that I like to work with and, upon my return to Atlanta, I plan on doing the same.

The owners - Jeff and Amy were incredibly knowledgable, helpful, proactive and professional. Amy was particulary helpful with the design aspects, with several great suggestions. And she tracked down all the fixtures, tile and granite, and ensured that everything matched and I was pleased with the selections. The sub-contractors that Jeff uses were also excellent - polite, professional and very competent. Everyone was very responsive to questions and adjustments, and most went the extra mile to get things done quickly and accurately. All the fit and finish - from the tile, to plumbing, to paint was excellent. 99% of the work was done in two weeks (as promised) - the remainder was the shower glass, which needs to be ordered after tile install, happened a few days later (also as promised). Overall, these guys did a fabulous job.

The grading and concrete crew showed up on the day they promised, and after that it was just a blur of activity. Start to finish the job took about six weeks, but 90% of it was done in the first two weeks. The crews are very professional and prompt. I was monitoring the progress daily when I got home from work. We stayed in touch with Jeff via phone and email. When we saw something we didn't like, he fixed it right away. We are very pleased and have recommended Jeff to everybody who sees "the barn".

The experience was very pleasant. Jeff provided an estimate and when we were ready to start he came by and discussed the process. We knew what to expect and when to expect it. When the work was completed, we looked over the basement and provided a short list of items needing correction. They were completed quickly and to our satisfaction. We would definitely hire DMC again.

Jeff and his crew were fantastic to work with from start to finish. We first met Jeff in May when he attended the home inspection of a house we were considering buying. It was a short sale that was vacant for almost a year and needed a ton of work. We needed to find a great general contractor that could help us estimate the cost of renovations before we bought the house to make sure it would be a good investment for our family. We talked though all the plans with Jeff and he made great suggestions on things we should do as well as things we should hold off on and do later. We came up with a renovation plan and budget and Jeff waited on standby until we were able to get the short sale to close. Because of the delays in closing our family, including two young children, had to move into a hotel because our prior home had sold. This made the project more urgent and Jeff was able to accelerate our timeline to get the renovations completed as quickly as possible so we could move in. I have a lot of respect for Jeff, because he is the most honest contractor I have worked with. He never tried to take advantage of our situation. When we changed things or added to the scope of work he gave fair prices. Also, I quoted several parts of the project (painting, carpet, granite, etc) through other Angie's list providers to confirm his pricing was in line. Whenever I got a lower quote, Jeff matched it for me. This was helpful because it was much easier for us to keep all the work with his crew. Since we completed the job in July, I have spoken to Jeff several times. He has been willing and helpful answering other questions I have had even if they were not something he was working on for us. This was the largest renovation we have ever done and by far the best experience working with a contractor. Jeff will be my first phone call when we decide to finish our basement and patio in the next couple years.

Jeff was very responsive and helpful. Had a few issues with instructions not passed to subs. All worked out in the end. They did nice work.

We also had the same experience with Jeff from DMC. We met him at our new home to discuss major renovations and a kitchen addition. Jeff took his time discussing the scope with us and had some great ideas. During the visit he said he would need to bring his framer out to look at the project as well. He sent us the quote via e-mail approximately 5 days later. I replied asking when Jeff wanted to come out with the framer and received no reply. I called and left a message and never got a call back. Lack of response is not very professional. Glad we weren't under contract when we found this out.

I chose to call this company due to the great ratings here on Angies list. We scheduled a day for Jeff to come to my home to see the problem I am having in my bathroom and give me an estimate of what it would take to fix it. Jeff, very nice, came out and did an assessment. He said that he'd be back in touch and would have to talk to the folks who work for him with projects similar to mine. Never called me back, never contacted me again. I've tried to follow up with no response. Left messages, no response. I thought maybe he lost my contact information, but since I've left it on their answering machine and on his wife's phone too, I am at a loss as to why I am not getting any response. Needless to say I will not be using this company for my repair needs.

The owner, Jeff Durham, has been incredibly responsive, very timely, and very professional. I would absolutely use him again. I would recommend them to anybody.

We have renovated numerous houses over the years because we have relo'd numerous times, and I say with complete sincerity that our work with Jeff Durham has been by far the easiest, most satisfying, and most successful of all our renovations. I would never hire anyone BUT Jeff again as long as we live in metro Atlanta. In fact, he is already working on renovating our daughter's condo. I learned of Jeff via word of mouth recommendation and first hired him to remodel our basement following a flood. The remodel included a new bathroom, 2,000 sq. ft. of new wood flooring, new cabinetry in main room, carpentry, plumbing, lighting, granite, etc. Everything was done as agreed, he and his crew cleaned up each evening, there were no "surprises" during the project, and we were very pleased with the end result, both its looks and its cost. Soon after, we hired Jeff to remodel the upper two floors of our 6,000 sq. ft. house (while we were living there during the renovations!) and to add an under-deck system on our lower patio. Jeff's work included custom cabinetry in the new kitchen and baths, lots of granite, a frameless shower enclosure, new lighting, gorgeously refinishing our wood floors, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, etc. etc. etc. From beginning to end, I felt no stress during this job. I was always able to reach Jeff immediately if necessary, his friendly and capable crew members and subs always arrived on time and communicated with us throughout the process even when we couldn't actually be on-site some days. Jeff worked well with our interior designer to implement her designs and offered many useful suggestions to her in the process. There was never even one time when Jeff seemed to be stressed out, even though ours was not the only job he was handling at the time. Rather, he calmly handled multiple clients' multiple priorities to their successful conclusion. Of course I want the finished job to be excellent, and it is, but I also want the remodeling process to run smoothly and cause me as little aggravation as possible, and, by hiring Jeff Durham, I got both an excellent finished product and a stress-free process. Jeff's prices are very reasonable. And, he "makes things right": if you were to have a problem or question or issue during the job, bring it to Jeff's attention and he WILL make it right.

We told the owner the first day we met with him that we wanted the tile right up next to each other. Very little grout! I came in one day at lunch and one of the workers was laying the tile. I stated that we wanted the tiles closer together. His reponse was "well ma'am that's not going to happen with these floors." I assumed he knew what he was talking about and let it go. (Another contractor told me after the fact that the tiles could have been put closer together. It would have been an easy fix since it was on a slab.) This was the case in the shower also. On top of that, the tiles are not even. The grout was two different colors. The owner did come back and pay for us to have the grout re-colored by someone else. There are so many places in the shower where the grout is hardly there and some places that look okay. I could go on, but you get the picture. It has been 3 months and it still makes me mad to go in our bathroom. I would not recommend this company to build a dog house!

Jeff and his crews are a pleasure to work with. The total project took 3 to 4 weeks during which Jeff was in constant contact and on the job site each day. Each of his crew was very professional in their work as well as pleasant, friendly, and responsive to requests. His specialty outside contractors (shower door, plumbing, cabinets) were well chosen, being equally as professional, skilled, and pleasant to work with. Each crew used runners and plastic to protect existing flooring and furniture, and the job site was cleaned up at the end of each day.I can highly recommend DMC to anyone looking for remodeling work and will certainly use them again for other projects on our own home.

Our overall work experience with Jeff and his team was excellent. This was a major renovation for my wife and I. We just moved to this area so time was important because our furniture was in storage until the renovations were complete. Through the process there were a few hiccups, but Jeff was more than professional making sure that we were happy and resolved any issues we had with a smile and made it right. The cabinet maker that works with Jeff was excellent (JW). We provided him designs and desires for the new cabinets. They came out better than expected and totally changed the look of the kitchen. This was a major renovation so cost was important. We were able to use Jeff’s resources but also able to research and purchase items such as the bathroom hardware, tiles and granite countertops on our own if we found a better rate. Jeff provided guidance and was able to pick items up, such as the tiles for the bathroom. We would recommend Jeff and use him again once we replenish our savings.

Overall, it went great. Jeff and his crew know what they are doing. I will definitely hire again in the future. They do really good work at fair prices.
