The initial transaction went fairly well. The saleswoman was competent, but when it came time to pay for the item, the cashier took about 10 minutes to assist the customer ahead of us, then disappeared for about another five minutes, never once bothering to acknowledge us or tell us that she would assist us momentarily. We requested the item for store pickup, but the best they could do was nine days, and they insisted that we return on the specific day that was convenient for them. We returned on the specified day, waited another 10 minutes for someone to show up at the cashier's counter, and were then instructed to take our vehicle around to the back. The cashier was quite specific that were not to drive down into the well of the loading dock, but rather drive around the dock to the area behind it. When we tried to comply with the instruction, we noted that the driveway we were supposed to use was only about 7.5 feet wide. It appeared to be about 9 feet wide originally, but the pavement on the right side had crumbled and rolled down into the well of the loading dock. It was obviously not paved properly to begin with, and the passage of other cars had broken the pavement on the right side into pieces. We were driving a standard size sedan but I did not feel it was safe to attempt to drive on the driveway. It appeared that if we tried, the car might slip to the right and roll down the mud embankment into the well of the loading dock. We parked outside the dock and walked in. The worker at the dock told us to bring our car around. We told him that the driveway did not look safe to drive, but that we would carry the boxed bench to where our car was. He rolled his eyes and said that we couldn't do that, and that he would have to bring the item to our car. He was a real grouch about it. The funny thing is that the store has signs all over the place stating that the company provides exceptional service. What a joke! The company will not even bother to repair their driveway so that it's safe for customers to use. Are they waiting for a car to slip off the hill and crash into a truck before they fix their pavement? We got home and opened the box. The box was well packed, but the vinyl upholstery covering the cushion of the bench was ripped in two places. The damage did not happen in shipment or during opening. The manufacture of the unit was just shoddy.
Description of Work: I purchased a bench for my dining room set from them.
