The job went well and the price was fair. They did probably more than I expected. He was very knowledgeable. I had called other plumbers and they said that it couldn't be done while this guy figured out a way to do it.

They are always very professional and clean up after themselves. I've probably had them here 20 times in the last year and I've always been pleased with the work they do. Their pricing is more reasonable than some other companies I've used. They are very responsive to calls and they come quickly. All of the people that have come to my house have been professional. The price has been fair.

Overall, a very good experience. Friendly person on the phone when I called to schedule an appointment. She also called later to let me know that the service person was on his way - early! The service provided was very good. He knew what he was doing, he was friendly and professional, he did not make a mess, and he finished the job fairly quickly.

I called and told the operator my hot water heater ceased to work and told her I got them off Angie's list. She had two immediate time slots right away and i gave her my cell phone number to let me know when they would be coming so i could meet them. She called and had someone available earlier, which i took and the plumber met me within the time frame she quoted he would be there. He looked at the old water heater which was leaking everywhere and he informed me I would need a new one. He gave me a quote of 760 or so for labor, parts, call which I thought was quite reasonable and he went and got the new water heater. He was able to get the new water heater, remove the old one and install the new one within two hours, which I was quite pleased with. He was very professional and courteous and in and out without issue. He also gave me a free year of their program that offers a discount on future repairs. I would highly recommend this company to anyone, and for me who is a busy professional who expects results I would not hesitate to call them again.

They were very punctual and courteous. I didn?t want the leak to progress and called around noon. They had somebody there within the hour. They are extremely responsive. The gentleman was very professional and resolved my problem in a timely manor. They even explained the problem to me so I understood what was going on. I have recommended them to many others.

Called at approx 2pm about a leak coming in to the house from the street. Woman answered the phone explained the problem, was told that appointments were already set for the day. But maybe I could call back after 6pm and the on-call plumber might help. Completely unprofessional. Would not use and will make sure not to recommend then and to let people know about how we were treated. It should be noted that I called another plumbing service at approx 2:15pm, was told someone would call me in 15 minutes and the plumber did. He stated he would be there in approx 1 1/2 hours, finishing another job, explained what to do about turning off water etc. He arrived as stated and was finished the job by 5pm.

Our kitchen sink had been dripping for months, steadily getting worse until it actually ran all the time and was driving me out of my mind. I had received a post card ad in the mail from Red Cap offering a $25 discount for services. I decided to join Angie's List (this is my first experience) before calling Red Cap and found them to be rated pretty well for my area. Most of the negative comments had to do with the price, and I'm afraid I have to concur with that. However, to be fair, I really had no idea how much this sort of work was worth on the current market. The technician's name was David. I was at work, so only my son had face-to-face time with him, but he seemed very satisfied with David's analysis of our problem. He replaced the innards of my kitchen faucet, our second bathroom tub faucet, and all three outside faucets, all of which leaked. I didn't realize the tub was leaking because that's my son's bathroom and kids never seem to think it's important to let us know this stuff. Anyway, when David called to give me his price, I swallowed hard and gave permission to proceed with the work. I figured parting with $535 was worth my sanity. This price also included $94 for the Ultimate Service Agreement and the $25 discount from their post card ad. David seemed extremely concerned about the safety of our water quality. He took a sample and was going to have it tested. We are on a well and septic tank (no community utilites out here as yet, but don't really want them!) He said our water had so much iron in it that it had eaten up the insides of all these faucets and that's why we had all the leaks. I knew we had iron (kind of hard to miss) but we had a softener and iron filter installed approximately 8-10 years ago and I knew the thing hadn't been working properly for years. David was full of ideas about new-fangled water softening systems, but I wanted to have someone look at our system and see if it could be serviced and I could be educated as to how to keep it up properly. If it was beyond help, then I'd look into getting a new system. You've probably deduced by now that I'm a horrid procrastinator, especially when it comes to having to spend major bucks. Anyway, David admitted that the water system was not his expertise and that he would have someone else in the company get back to me after testing the water. I didn't hear from him and decided to call after the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. When I contacted them on 12/1, I got a very apologetic David. I guess there was more involved with a well system that he realized, and it would have cost me $150 to have the sample he took tested. Since his bill didn't itemize parts and labor, I made sure I hadn't been charged that $150. I asked David if he could give me a little better breakdown of what I had paid - it would be nice to have an idea of what the parts cost and how much this work is worth per hour, just for future reference. David said he would e-mail that information (haven't received it as yet, but that's OK). Then he told me about another firm called Springfresh Water that specialized in hard water problems and he would ask them to contact me. Since we're supposed to report on these places separately, I'll submit a report elsewhere on Springfresh. All in all, I am happy with David and Red Cap. It's wonderful to not have my faucets literally leaking their guts out anymore! And I wouldn't have realized the underlying cause if it hadn't been for David and his sincere concern for our water safety.
Description of Work: Repaired and/or replaced leaking faucets inside and outside. Diagnosed the problem as too much iron in our water.

I am so happy with the service that we received. David arrived promptly and began to review all of our issues. He noted that one of our leaky/running toilets was a one-piece toilet which would increase the cost of the repair (which we already knew). He had to call around to the plumbing supply stores to find the appropriate parts for this toilet, as he had to rebuild the entire flush valve system. He did so and it works! He also fixed the other two leaky and running toilets and descaled all three while he was working on them. He ended up replacing the wax seal on one of them as well. He cleared our slow sink and replaced the pipes beneath it. Finally, he completely replaced the split line to the water filter in our refrigerator. He was here for almost 9 hours and was cheerful and positive the whole time, despite setbacks caused by our 30-year-old plumbing. He did a great job and we have noticed a difference in our water pressure (strong!) and - most importantly - NO LEAKS. The price was a bit expensive but for all of the extra work that he had to do and how much time he was here I consider it money well spent. We will definitely use this company again.
Description of Work: We had been "saving" up our plumbing problems and wanted to have them all taken care of in one day. These included: fixing three leaky/running toilets, replacing a kitchen faucet, clearing a slow drain in a sink, and re-routing the water filter line to the refrigerator.

We recently had our water heater replaced by Red Cap Plumbing after our American Home Shield-provided plumber told us to get it done. After the work was done, we were surprised to find water still leaking around the water heater. We called Red Cap to get the plumber back out to fix the problem. He quickly diagnosed the problem as a leaky pipe in the wall, and concluded that the original plumber had mis-diagnosed the leak. He was able to fix the leaky pipe quickly, and left the area neat and tidy. The price for the pipe repair was much less than than what we expected, based on the higher-than-expected price we paid for them to replace the water heater. UPDATE: Red Cap sent us a holiday greeting card which included a discount coupon to be used for our next service. That was thoughtful and unexpected.
Description of Work: Repaired a leaky pipe in the wall, which required cutting a nine inch by three foot hole in the wall.

We called American Home Shield with a water heater leak. The AHS-dispatched plumber recommended having someone else install a new heater. I went to Angie's List and Red Cap had the largest number of recent A ratings. I called at noon. The technician was here an hour earlier than promised and finished the work in about 90 minutes. He was professional, fast, courteous, and tidy. The cost was $242.00 higher than another company quoted, but they would not have been able to come out for five days. Part of the higher cost was a mandatory service agreement ($94.00) that promises future discounts and priority service. Because I already have a home warranty service, this agreement is of no value to me. Despite the added cost, the speed of service and the superior work of the technician won me over as a Red Cap customer for life ... or until Angie's List reveals someone better!

I had a really bad experience with them. I had a serious problem with them. They charged me $819 to pull a vanity, with a sink in it, out of my main bathroom and to fix a leak in the copper piping, nine months ago. The vanity is still not in the bathroom because I am retired and I am on a limited income. I demanded a new receipt from them because they had scribbled something and I couldn?t read it. I hounded them for a month before I got anything from them. The pulling of vanity cost me $340. The repair of the pipe leaks cost me $240 and $75 respectively. The shutoff valve wouldn?t shut off completely. So, he put a new one in and charged me $105. Later, he sold me a contract on the work that he did and he didn?t even tell me that he was going to put $84 for the contract. Also, he gave me an estimate to reset the vanity for about $195. I had a faucet that was leaking. He quoted $174 to stop the leak. He didn?t do that work. Totally, he charged me $819. I spoke to him and let him know how unhappy I was. He has a price list he goes by. However, I felt that his prices for pulling the vanity and resetting it were outrageous. I didn?t let him put it back because I didn?t want to give him anymore money. I would never ever use this company again in the future. However, they were very punctual. I didn?t expect them to come out right away. They come out in 45 minutes. The quality was bad, though, as he didn?t put anything together. He was nice, but he cheated me royally. I was really disappointed with this company. I can?t use the vanity anymore, since it is not reset. It is terrible. Even my friends are concerned about this. I called this company 2-3 times a week for a month because I wanted something in writing. The lady kept telling me that she had mailed me the bill. I was more determined to get the mail. So, I kept calling them. After a month, I got the mail. But, I realized that they had no intention of giving me that. The last time I communicated my problems with them was five months ago. I was really mad with them.

They came sooner then original time which was great as they called and asked if they could come out sooner. After deciding to get the heater he left to get it and returned almost an hour or more later with the new heater. He did put it in in no time at all and overall I felt the process and time spent was sufficient. They are a company that responds in a timely manner and they have a price list that ou can look at.

I contacted several plumbing companies in my area and received written quotes. Although some were higher and lower than Red Cap Plumbing, I decided to use them. The service consisted of the following: disconnecting the old copper piping and replacing it with new PVC piping, installing two new outside water hose fixtures & a new shut-off valve, replacing the bathroom shower fixtures and installing a new water heater. The service was completed within 3-days as quoted and the plumbing service techs who did the job were very professional and cleaned up the work areas everyday before leaving my home. Overall excellent job..
Description of Work: I have a two story home that was built in 1983 and the contractors at that time used copper piping. Over the past few years I experienced several pin hole type leaks which also resulted in drywall damage. It was finally time to have home's old copper plumbing replaced with new PVC piping.

A Red Cap technician came out a couple times to give us an estimate at no charge. We had work done later on two separate occasions. We worked with Amanda in the office mostly to set things up. She is very helpful and efficient. Eddy was the technician and is clean and meticulous in his work. The owner of the business even came on the phone one time to answer some questions we had. Overall, we're satisfied with the work that has been done. Enough so that we joined the "Ultimate Savings Agreement" for a year at $84. We had gotten a couple other estimates; one was higher and one was lower.
Description of Work: Red Cap installed new tub and shower valve, drain and overflow cover, which we provided. Installed new laundry room sink and faucet, which we provided. Installed new kitchen sink basket strainer and new bathroom toilet tank insides, which they provided. Installed new bathroom faucet, which we provided. Installed new water softener and filter system, which they provided. The above amount spent includes items we purchased.

We realized that we had a pipe leaking outside of our house. The next morning I called (9:30 a.m.) and Josh was there to help at 11:30. He was very professional and Josh made sure that we understood what was going on. He gave us numerous opportunities to ask questions. When work was completed he took me outside to show me how/why the problem had occurred. Also, this company has a deal - pay $84/year and receive 15% discount on all service and a full home plumbing inspection, including hot water heater flush. Saved $51 today, so it almost paid for itself.
