Mike worked on our TV, straightened bad wiring to our sound system, gave us advice on new indoor and outdoor speakers. The amount I show in this report includes equipment.
Description of Work: Mike, the owner, has done work for us several times. He really knows what he's doing....He worked on the TV and the sound system. His response time is fast, he's courteous and pleasant and we were so thrilled that he knew what he was doing!

Technician was thorough, timely and provided excellent communication through the entire process... The part had to be ordered and the technician kept in touch the entire time. Owner was very easy to work with and very fair. Would surely use again.

Great experience!!! Could not have been better.

We are constantly having issues with the setting on our BH cable box and whenever a repair person is at the house they never take the time to show us what to do because they are in such a hurry. (and we are totally incompetent) Well, once again when we turned the TV on this morning all the settings had changed. I emailed Mike asking for his help and had no problem with having to pay for a repair service. He was kind enough to email me back promptly and volunteered to help us over the phone. Little did we know that BH had decided to change all their settings and shortly after I had emailed Mike I discovered that. Even though I had never met Mike or used his company I was very impressed that he would offer his help to an unknown client. If ever I need a TV service in the future, he will be the first I call. Thank you for being the type of person who still knows what customer service is.

On Friday evening the picture on our big screen suddenly stopped working. I checked the Internet and TV owner's manual to try to determine if there was something I could do to repair the problem. Since the TV is 5 years old, I wasn't sure if the repairs were worth doing. After a little research on the Internet, I was certain that the TV's Lamp needed to be replaced and that this was not something many people had good luck replacing by themselves. I called the company that provides the service warranty for my TV and they informed me that lamp replacement was not a covered repair under the warranty and gave me a general estimate for the cost to replace the lamp. I searched Angies List and located one of their top rated companies, Advance Electronic Solution, LLC and called them on Saturday morning at 7 AM. At approx 8:30 AM Mike, from Advance Electronic Solution returned my call and we discussed the problem. He asked me a few questions about the problem what I had done to troubleshoot it and quickly came to the same conclusion that I had, the lamp needed to be replaced and Mike arranged to come out house. I had another appointment later in the day, so Mike rearranged his schedule to accommodate mine. Mike arrived around 10:00 and began to diagnose the problem. Sure enough, the lamp was burned-out. Mike also advised that since the TV had 6,183 hours of play time, the color wheel was reaching the end of its useful life and also should be replaced at this time. However, it was my decision to do so. I elected to have the color wheel too. The TV is now working like new.
Description of Work: Replaced the lamp and color wheel with original parts in our big screen Samsung DLP television. Checked the other components to ensure that everything was in working order.

I called them because I had streaks across the top of the TV. Mike gave me an estimate and took some parts out of the back. The picture is now better than previously and he did a super job. He was very polite, told me everything he was going to do, and then showed me what he did. He came on time and with a uniform, too.

--Mike has been exactly on time both times that we had appointments with him. --The completion of the work was exactly as expected and the neatly organized cables exceeded expectations. --He called to follow-up twice to insure our satisfaction --I will certainly use his services again and recommend his services without reservation.
Description of Work: We have a fairly complex audio video component installation that had to be moved to another room. This included disconnect, reconnect, pulling of cables and confirming programming of a complex universal remote. At first we believed that his price was somewhat high. After observing the complexity of the work and the excellent outcome, we believe it was a fair price.

Mike did a great job installing my new DVD/VHS player. He provided the new cables and thoroughly explained how to operate the new unit. He was prompt and worked quickly. I would certainly use his service again.
Description of Work: I purchased a new DVD/VHS player but couldn't figure out how to set it up to my TV and Verizon box, because my current cables wouldn't fit. My daughter, who's our tech person in the family, was puzzled as well, so I called Mike. I thought maybe I was having a problem because my Sony TV is about 16 years old and the technology was incompatible, but Mike was confident that he could help me. He came to my home within the hour and set up the new unit. He had to provide me with some new cables as well. Mike explained the new set up to me so I could both view and record, which was very much appreciated. Although I thought the cost was a little high, I needed his help and I didn't have the skills to install the new unit. In this day and age, people deserve to be reasonably compensated for their very specialized skills.I wouldn't hesitate to call for Mike's help in future.

I called Mike on the 18th because we lost the picture on our Samsung DLP tv. After getting full details on the make & model of the unit, he indicated the problem probably was the lamp. Since none of his technicians were available, Mike came out himself that very same day. He pulled out the lamp (which was quite obviously shattered inside). Because of the way the lamp had broken, Mike suspected that there was another problem which caused it to break in that manner. He tested various parts, ultimately finding that the ballast was defective. Fortunately, he had brought both a lamp and a ballast with him, so he was able to replace it as well. In addition, Mike gave us some excellent maintenance tips to extend the life our our TV's components. Furthermore, he gave us a discount on the service call because we were Angie's List members. The only point of contention was the cost of the bulb. It was higher than it would have cost us from the Internet; Mike's explanation about it being "OEM" and "not from China" rang a bit hollow when I looked at the bulb which was quite clearly marked as Phillips (not Samsung) from China. (I cannot comment on the cost of the ballast because we had not priced that out online as we did not know we needed one.) However, all things considered I feel Mike is professional, dependable, and very good at his job. Our TV is now as brighter & quieter than ever!
Description of Work: Mike replaced the lamp, tested & replaced the ballast. He also cleaned the interior of the TV, esp the fan and other dust-sensitive areas.

Mike is very professional and provided me with the information to make the best decision about the repair. I will definitely call on him again and would recommend others to do the same.
Description of Work: I called Mike the morning of 5/1/09 to ask for service for my DLP Samsung TV. I explained the problem and also asked for service on my Bose entertainment system's DVD player. He asked me several questions about the problem and was able to diagnose a connection problem that caused the TV's lamp to burn hot. He told me how to correct the connection problem and the TV lamp turned on. We were going to set up an appointment, but he said he had a service call very close to my location and he would stop by that same day after his appointment. Great! When he arrived he checked my TV connection and looked at my Bose system. He told me that the repair of the Bose system would not be cost effective and I might want to consider another DVD player to hook up to the system. This solution saved me money. I paid for a service call (mutually agreed upon during our phone discussion) and will be calling him back to replace the TV lamp in due time.

The screen on my 10 yr old Sony went dark. I had sound but no picture. Went to Angie's List and called Mike. He asked for all the information, and we scheduled a service call for the next day. He was able to take the TV apart in my home and repair the problem. I am thrilled, as I did not want to replace this TV. It's working beautifully. Mike is a skilled technician and a gentleman, and I highly recommend this company!

Mike returned my phone call promptly and when he had a flat tire and knew he would be late for the appt. he called immediately to let me know when he would be here. He arrived when he said he would and when he saw the part my 8 yr. old tv would need he told me it would be $700. However, he had a board in his truck that he thought he could cannabalize the parts from. He not only spent extra time fixing my tv, but when I told him I was going to cut a hole in the wall for the cables, he offered and did it for me. I asked him where I would need to plug in my new wireless speakers and he spent time setting them up for me at no extra cost. I can't imagine anyone giving this kind of customer service in this day and age. But he did and I appreciated the extra time and effort he put into this service call.

My six year-old 26" Toshiba had horizontal white lines across the upper quarter of the screen. I emailed Mike a description of what was going on. He called me back within an hour and knew what he had to fix. He was able to quote me parts and labor, so I set up an appointment (because the TV was too big and heavy to bring to his shop). Mike showed up on time and worked quickly and efficiently. His diagnosis of the problem was spot on! The TV is working great and the overall picture is much better, too.

I found this company through Angie's List. My 52" Toshiba DLP TV was making some awful noises and was having problems starting up. I found that it was the light engine, a very expensive part ( $600+250 labor+tax). I talked to Mike over the phone and he was familiar with the problem. He called his supplier while I researched the part prices from several online sources. He called back promptly with the pricing information and it was higher than the lowest price I found. I convinced him to call the online retailer and he found them to have inferior parts and support compared to his usual source. We ordered from his usual supplier and he showed up several days later to install the part. Unfortunately it wasn't an exact fit due to differences in manufacturing over time, so he had to send back both the old and new parts so that the manufacturer could determine the perfect match. He came back with the new part and installed it. A few hours after he left, I felt like the picture just wasn't right, so I called him yet again to see if it could be adjusted. He came out and cleaned the screen and lens but mentioned that the bulb seems very close to burning out and a new one would help (he had mentioned this the first 2 times he came out too). About 2 days later, the bulb burned out :-). He had the part in stock at a very competitive price. He showed up again very punctually and installed the bulb. The TV looks like brand new. Mike made several visits to my house for the initial repair without trying to charge me any more; sometimes on Saturdays. He was prompt and friendly every time and really showed his professionalism and knowledge of the trade. While his parts supplier was not the cheapest, it really paid off with a superior product, service, and the relationship Mike had with them. I would use him again.

It wasn't an emergency but he came right away, which was nice because we had to get up to turn the TV off and on. My mom loves having her remotes working now, and the VCR working, too. She has tapes of when her children were little (and I'm one of her children), and of her daughter's wedding which she got to watch yesterday and loved.
Description of Work: He did electronics work for us. He made our VCR work, which no one could get working. He made the picture quality on our TV a thousand percent better. And he programmed our remotes which no one else could seem to do. He was very, very patient and very nice. The price sounds a little expensive, but it really wasn't because he had to spend almost $100 in gas to get here and get home.

Shortly after the service man left, I realized I might have purchased an extended warranty for this set and I called the national chain store I bought it from. I DID have an extended warranty and it was still in effect. I would have to use their service contractor for the repairs. So, I called the service man and offered to come pick up the parts. He, however, offered to drop them off at my house later that day, which he did for no extra charge. He was very gracious about the whole matter and I would definitely call this company again. I feel like there is a very high level of integrity and pride of workmanship here, not someone out to make a quick buck.
Description of Work: My large screen DLP TV was not working and I called this company. The service man arrived at the scheduled time and had to spend quite a lot of time taking this very complicated set apart. It turned out that there were two boards which were defective. The cost of new boards would be more than the set was worth, but he said that he would replace the parts that appeared to be damaged and would return with them and put the set back together. If the set worked, I would owe him an additional $547. If it didn't, the only money I would be out was the original $100 for the service call. I agreed and he took the parts.

Mike came when he said he would and was prepared with the parts necessary to fix our Hitachi. This is the second time we have called Advance Electronic Solution and have been very pleased with the service, the clear explanation of what is wrong and what is needed to fix it, and the amount charged for the service.
Description of Work: Our Hitachi big screen TV developed a double picture. Mike came to the house and replaced a part that had gone bad. He also made some adjustments to the colors.

I had noticed when he left that there was still a yellow line on the television so he had to come back out and fix it again but he came back out right away and he was a very nice gentleman. He did get it fixed. I thought he was polite, courteous, and very thorough.

He was very kind and courteous to my dad. He was very knowledgeable about what he was doing. HE CAME BACK TWICE MORE WITHOUT CHARGING A SERVICE CHARGE. THERE AREN'T A LOT OF PEOPLE TO CHOOSE FROM.
Description of Work: I called about my father's t.v. The person said he would call right back and he did. I described the problem. He said there was 100.00 service charge. He brought some parts. It was something with the tuner. He had to order the part. He didn't charge another service charge. The t.v. worked for about 24 hours. He had to bring another part and fixed it. He came again when dad punched the wrong buttons. He came back two more times without charging.

Description of Work: My husband contacted Mike Eidi and set a time to look at a problem with our T.V. Mike came at the time specified even though he had a very tight schedule. My husband asked to please make time out of his busy schedule as we have guest coming in from out of town. Mike identified the problem in short order and corrected the problem. He sat with me for 20 minutes to show me how to operate a new surround system we recently had installed by another company.
