We chose this Company based on reviews, which were mostly good. We found out otherwise and hope that you take this review seriously before hiring this contractor. We worked with Scott to design our kitchen, chose cabinets, countertops, colors, and ordered cabinets and materials, then waited to begin. Demo day came. We knew on this day that we were in trouble. We watched three people, including the owner, remove everything. We watched them leave our brand new refrigerator and range IN PLACE DURING DEMO. Both were damaged as they used them for tool rests, stepstools, and seats. Old cabinetry dented them as they were removed. We needed to INSIST that they be taken out of the kitchen. THIS IS A BAD SIGN. By the end of day one, the entire kitchen was gone. They hadn't just demoed, they had destroyed the kitchen. On DAY 2, the cabinets were delivered to our garage for storage during install. The cabinets had been delivered to Paradise Kitchens three weeks prior while we waited for a start. My wife noticed that all of the cabinets were the wrong color, which we questioned. The owner told us that the color we chose was not available when he ordered them, so he orderd a similar color. My wife called the company and found out that this was not true. He never told us. He assured us that we would not know the difference. There was a distinct difference. We complained and he wasn't happy. He reluctantly agreed to repaint them. Who wants brand new cabinets repainted, but what was the choice? The owner had the cabinets picked up for painting. They sent two workers, one of which was a project manager with a trailer at the end of the day to pick them up. The trailer also contained all of the trash from other jobs that day. Our cabinets were put into the trailer, piled in just like trash ( I'll include a picture if I can) for removal. I had a huge fight with the manager (Bob) and another rude employee. He did not care. After discussion with the owner, we had these people fired from our job. We waited three weeks. They installed upper and most base cabinets in one day. It was the end of the week, so we decided to put the fridge in place for the weekend. It did not fit. Not even close. They had installed the cabinets off-plumb and off- level using the excuse that the walls were not plumb, level or square. I PERSONALLY HAD TO LAY OUT THE LINES FOR THEM TO REMOUNT THE CABINETS. They had to move cabinets and reinstall everything for the to fridge fit. They completed the rest of the base cabinets and left. We had the gas guy come in to install a new gas line for the range which he did. The range did not fit. They had to reposition the cabinets a third time for that to fit. I expressed great concern, and the owner expressed that like everyone else, they were having a hard time finding employees. They had taken our money...they should be able to do the job. I decided at that point to watch EVERYTHING they did. There was no project manager...he had been fired. They installed an entire pantry/ coffee area with a floor to ceiling cabinet to completion, including the countertop, after which I pointed out that the entire thing was not plumb. It was installed along a wall which was not straight. They blamed the walls, very unprofessional. They had to remove the entire area of cabinetry and redo it. That took two more weeks. I had to supervise the entire Re-Do, again. This job is now 11 weeks into a 5 week job. It is a LIVING NIGHTMARE!! We are convinced that they are incompetent. They installed finish mouldings including crown mouldings along the ceiling to match existing crown mouldings in the room. They had removed the old mouldings and reused them as new. The contract called for new. The mouldings wer cracked, chipped, nail holes everywhere which they attempted to hide. We made them replace them. The owner put a screw hole through the side of our new range vent hood, which had to go back out for repair/repaint. He also put sheetrock screws through to the insides of the cabinets which we cut our fingers on when we cleaned inside. He had to redo that. He stood on the brand new countertops in his sneakers, not a ladder, to adjust the doors. He wanted our money on time, however. We had the job mostly completed, and at thirteen weeks, we FIRED Paradise Kitchens as Incompetent to do the job. We had it finished by someone else. I could go on and on. NIGHTMARE! This contractor, in our opinion, is not worth working with under any circumstances. He sounds, acts, and comes off as professional and competent at the beginning, but cannot deliver.
