So...I am here about 3 years after my first review of Suncoast to "update" on the work that was performed. I had initially been frustrated and not happy with the response time during the process of trying to get an estimate and then after we ultimately hired them realized that Chuck had some health concerns that were lending to some of the delays and actually hired him to do a remodel of our guest bathroom. I was impressed with his work and even came back and updated and changed my report from a negative to a positive in response to the good job. Fast forward to about 2 months ago. My wife had been pointing out to me a discoloration in the wall and what looked like a leak in my garage right where the guest bathroom is in my home. I put it off for a couple of weeks and finally had a "leak detection" service come to my home. They very quickly uncovered the problem which was was a leak of the "sewer water and toilet water" under the tile in my guest bathroom. The cause was 100% due to the installation of the new toilet that was part of the renovation that we hired Chuck to complete. The wax ring under the toilet was the wrong size and not even sealed properly. This was also confirmed by a second contractor that we hired to fix the issues. I tried to reach out to Chuck and explained the situation and he initially seemed open to at least looking at it and maybe offering to fix the issue and then it never went further from there. My wife called him and I called him and he accepted no liability for the way the toilet was put in the new bathroom despite TWO different contractors AND the leak detection service all saying this whole problem and issue would have been avoided had the toilet been installed properly and this leak was going on for a long time slowly at first. The net net of this whole debacle is that I had to basically repay to have another contractor rip up all the tile and base board and "redo" the entire bathroom. This cost me another $1000 out of my pocket all to just have this leak corrected. This is what I ultimately got for using Suncoast and Chuck. I actually had hopes at first that he was a stand up guy and would stand behind his work and make it right but that did not happen and I hate coming here and leaving this review and affecting someones ability to find new business but this is upsetting. It took me a couple of months to come back here and update on this since it first occurred. I am happy to share the invoice from the contractor that fixed the bathroom as he suggested he should put a note in the invoice if and when I wanted to pursue this in small claims court saying that the toilet was installed incorrectly and this would have been the result of the contractor doing the bathroom remodel.

It came out perfectly. It looks just like I hoped it would.
Description of Work: He opened up the wall between my kitchen and living room and installed a countertop in the space. He did an excellent job.It came out looking just as I envisioned it would. He was very helpful in coming up with ideas to make sure I was pleased with the outcome. He went out of his way to obtain the materials needed to ensure the result that I wanted. It looks perfect-like it has always been like that!

I contacted Chuck by phone and left a voice mail and email on 06/16/2014 and received a quick response back from him. We set up an appointment for 06/18/2014 for 7:30 AM. I explained to him everything I wanted done in the mobile home, which consisted of dry wall in living room, kitchen, hallway and 2 bathrooms, and painting. The kitchen would be getting a new counter top, back splash, and cabinets painted. I also wanted new flooring put down in all rooms. Chuck took the time to measure and was very personable. He seemed interested in the job while he was there. After he was done getting all the measurements he said I will get back to you on Sunday, which would have been 06/22/2014. Chuck did inform me that he would not be able to do the floors, due to having a problem with his knee, but did provide me with the name of a guy that worked for him doing floors and stated he was very good. I was okay with this and set up an appointment to meet with the flooring guy. I was very pleased with the Sonny (the flooring guy). While Sonny and I were talking, he asked what all was going to be done in the property and I explained everything to him, he gave me some ideas that would work better than what I had originally planned, so after Sonny left I left a voice mail for Chuck advising him that I had some changes that I wanted to make and this would probably change his estimate. I waited patiently until 06/26/2014, since I still had not heard from Chuck I decided to give him a call, and had to leave another voice mail. I got a text from Chuck on 06/27/2014 informing me, "Sorry about the delay. My knee replacement is happening earlier than expected. A lot of prep to do and trying to finish up jobs beforehand. Have you contacted Sonny yet as far as the flooring? He may be able to help with the baths and drywall as well. Eddie Jackson has worked with me for years doing drywall, stucco, plaster, etc.. Is it okay to give him your number? Sorry again but the knee won't stop. Chuck" I am very disappointed with the lack of courtesy given by Chuck, he never returned my previous phone call, and then he couldn't even take the time to advise he would not be doing the job, but had to send a text. I fully understand that medical conditions do arise, and a person's health comes first, but a two minute phone call could not be fit in his day. I have been in touch with Sonny numerous times and was also told I will get you an estimate and my brothers do drywall and tiling. I set up a meeting with Sonny's brother and he informed me that he would have an estimate ready by 07/6/2014....Well today is 7/13/2014 and no estimates. Needless to say the lack of common courtesy really stinks!

Response from SUNCOAST REMODELING LLC
I was up front with [member name removed] that I had three over proposals out and that I schedule as they are accepted. I also told her that Sonny would be doing the work and as far as I knew the two of them were connecting and planning the remodel. If anyone were to check my reviews over the past 10 years you would agree this is very out of character. I apologize for any miscommunications but no ill attempt was present. As [member name removed] stated I gave her a quick response and immediate appointment. I have been in this business a long time and assure you that you cannot please everyone.

It went pretty well. They ran into some unforseen issues with electric wires in which they had to install multiple junction boxes in order to lengthen the electric runs for the new higher ceiling. The new base cabinets next to a door were installed without a spacer which caused the cabinet drawers not to be able to be opened fully. I removed the casework around the door and planed it down so the drawers would open. Trimwork between the cabinet and crown molding could have been installed with miter cuts versus the butt joints they used. We threw some changes at them and they handled them well. Very easy to deal with. The project went longer than we thought and it cost a little more than originally quoted but we are happy with the end results. I would hire them again.
Description of Work: Remodeled kitchen. Relocated one wall and raised ceiling. Re-textured wall and ceiling. Removed some tile on the walls. Installed new can lights in ceiling. Installed new cabinets including hardware for doors and installed crown molding. Came back after granite installation to reconnect the plumbing under the sink.

We are not full time FL residents, so when Chuck and Milutin gave us the estimate in August they had no problem with our start date in February. Since we live in PA I ordered most of the fixtures for the kitchen and bath online and had them shipped to FL. The tub I ordered was a little to wide so they made some adjustments to it and it fits perfectly. To my surprise, Chuck was able to install the windows in the sun room without damaging the tile window sills. When it came time to install the cabinets there were several problems with the sizing of the cabinets. Once again, Chuck made adjustments and they fit perfectly. Chuck was very flexible with the many changes or adding of additional work that was not originally talked about. Suncoast was able to work through the many challenging obstacles that came about during our kitchen and bath remodel. These guys work well together. We are totally satisfied with the job they did from start to finish. I know we will be hiring them again.
Description of Work: Chuck and Milutin did a complete kitchen and bathroom remodel, they also installed 2 entry doors and 6 windows in our sunroom. They enlarged the wall between the kitchen and living room and enlarged the opening between the kitchen and the sunroom.Denis fixed a very badly buckled wall and ceiling between the kitchen and living room... to perfection!!

Chuck came to the house and reviewed the work we needed done. He sent me the proposal by e-mail the next day and we scheduled a time for the work to be done. Chuck and Militin arrived when they said they would, started work immediately and completed all the work in a timely and professional manner. We could not have been more pleased with the results of their work. I would highly recommend them for any remodeling job. When we have any additional work to do around the house, I will certainly call them first.

I had a leaking toilet o-ring, which caused problems with the bathroom floor. Chuck and Milutin came by on a Saturday, and I had an estimate by Monday morning. Once work started, they were always prompt and kept me informed of what was going on and emailed pictures of the work. They were careful to keep mess to a minimum and taped a butcher block paper path through the house. We spent a couple of hours in Home Depot and Lowes picking up materials and they were very patient in pointing out my different options and explaining what was needed. My house is 70 years old and has a small (6 x 7.5 foot) bathroom which is now the nicest room in the house. The quality of their work is outstanding. No detail was left unattended, they assisted with everything down to how best place the mirror and shelves.
Description of Work: Chuck and Milutin gutted the bathroom and replaced floor rotted joists and subfloor. The tub and fixtures were replaced, tub area and floor was tiled, with beadboard and a chair rail put up in the rest of the room. A vanity mirrror, lighting and shelves were installed.

I had called 3 other contractors from Angie's List prior to calling Chuck and no one called me back. Chuck called when he got back from vacation and we made arrangements to meet with him the next day to go over the job. He was very professional and quite knowledgeable as was his partner. He explained to me that he really did not delve into small jobs but he had time that week to help me out.....he was starting a big kitchen remodel the following Monday and would not be able to committ for a while. He sent an e-mail the evening of meeting my Husband and I and we agreed to his price and made arrangements for him to come on Friday to complete the work. He and his partner arrived on time and completed the job in a timely manner. My Husband and I are very, very, pleased with his work and would highly recommend Chuck. My family room looks AWESOME and I have room now!!!! Thank you to Chuck and his partner for a fantastic job!!!

The process went very well especially when you consider that we were in our home in Indy and not at our condo on Treasure Island, but Chuck kept us updated with emails and pictures and answered our dumb questions. We hit some issues that caused a few changes that resulted in extra work for Chuck and his team and as a result some extra charges, but we thought Suncoast/Chuck was extremely fair with the additional costs and it was not an issue for us at all. We are also facing an aging kitchen that is going to need attention before long and I am sure we will call Chuck.

Chuck came out first thing and started working. What should have been a days work ended up being 2 days due to the condition of our wall, but Chuck had absolutely no problems and came out first thing on day 2 and finished the job. Couldn't have done it better myself. Great work and will definately use him again. Highly recomend Suncoast to all our friends.

Excellent job. Chuck, Milutin and Denis are professional, helpful and patient. Overall things couldn't have gone any better. Chuck was so helpful in so many ways. Offering his views and ideas. Helping me pick things out and doing a lot of 'extras'. I would highly recommend Suncoast Remodeling for any job. To sum it all up......................I LOVE my new kitchen!
Description of Work: I had been working on a kitchen remodel for a long time (in my head). Finally the ideas were to become a reality. I had four estimates. Settled on Suncoast Remodeling for a couple of reasons. Price being one and the other that 'gut' feeling after talking with Chuck and his fellow workmen. Turned out I made the best decision ever. Chuck and his fellow co-workers were punctual (always on time) polite and neat (cleaned up every day). They put in a good days work - 8-4 every day. The work involved taking a wall down. I was amazed how little time it took. There were four men working together - the wall was there one day and gone the next along with all the cabinets, etc. I'm sure Chuck will have pictures on his website. They hung the new cabinets, took care of the new plumbing, sink, new faucets, etc. Installed all new lightning which involved changing all the wiring. Tedius and time consuming but the end result was well worth the extra work, Thank you Milutin!

I can't say enough great things about my experience. I will definately use them again when I am ready to renovate my master bath.
Description of Work: Chuck and his team did a complete renovation of my 1950's kitchen. Tore down one wall, moved another wall, created an arched opening, tore out and installed new cabinets and counter tops. Ran new electric, layed tile floor, closed up one door and installed another. In addition, Chuck provided valuable assitance to design details and asthetics. I can't say enough great things about my experience. I will definately use them again when I am ready to renovate my master bath.

Suncoast Remodeling LLC Company gave us an estimate which was lower than another company we had checked with. Also, we really liked the owner of the company, Chucky, so we decided to go with them. He is very personable. He is very honest and up front. He seemed very competent. He?s been here when he said he is going to be here. I have had no problems with the ongoing work so far.
Description of Work: I got an estimate from Suncoast Remodeling LLC Company probably about three weeks ago. They are moving the plumbing from one side of the wall to another side where the windows are going to be installed. They are moving some electrical wiring. They are putting a hole in the wall that faces the living room to open it up. They are also moving the kitchen around and are cutting out holes in the kitchen wall for us. They are removing one window and putting in a smaller window. Then they are removing three other windows to put in sliding doors.

The biggest compliment I can give is that Chuck made this a virtually stress-free event and the biggest reason is that he communicated well and was very responsive. He came over in a bit of a family emergency situation, secured the old, damaged door and took measurements for the new door and advised me how to order. When I had trouble at Lowes during the ordering process with details about the measurements, he was more than happy to speak to the Lowes personnel so that I could feel confident that the $1000.00 door I ordered was correct. He offered to pick up the door in his truck when it arrived and he delivered it to our house where we stored it at our house until the day of installation. He came on time and worked all day with only a lunch break. My husband was the one home that day and he said Chuck worked diligently with a door frame that was less than ideal. Chuck also took time to explain the whats and whys of the install. One other thing he did that made me happy was that I had asked him if he could possibly preserve the moulding and trim around the inside of the door (it had been a special order and not a typical size/style). He took the time to save all that and re-attach it. Chuck had to come back the next morning to finish a few details including some caulking, His price was fair and less than what it would have cost to have installed by one of the big box stores. After he left I had the opportunity to examine the door more closely and saw that it opened and closed well but there was a a section where the doors meet in the middle where the seal wasn't quite tight enough so air/light came through. I called Chuck and he came over at a convenient time for me and made some adjustments to the strike plates (a simple fix for him but I had no idea it could be done) and and at the same time I showed him something that was a manufacturer defect in the latch mechanism for the slide bolt that goes into the threshold for the stationary door. He advised me to photograph it and contact Lowes and/or the door company's customer service and ask for a replacement part. Again, for my benefit, he took apart a couple aesthetic parts on the door to reveal the "wizard behind the curtain" and showed me the literal nuts and bolts of how that bolt mechanism worked and how it could be fixed. It was very interesting. Chuck was a very competent contractor with good communication skills and a pleasant personality, to boot.
Description of Work: Chuck replaced an outside french door with a new french style door. The opening wasn't square and the new door frame wasn't sized the same as the old one so he had to spend a good deal of time adding materials to allow for a proper swing and correct fit. $1000 door (I ordered myself) and $300 to Chuck for install.

The job overall went great. Chuck and his team started when they said they were going to start, communicated with us on a daily basis, and completed the job on time except for the slight delay on getting the granite installed by the company providing the granite. Suncoast was within the cost estimate range that was provided when they bid on the job. Chuck and his team were very flexible as several times we either changed our minds on something or we asked them to add something not originally talked about. They were good about "going with the flow" and never got ruffled when we asked for something different. There were a few missed details along the way but when we pointed them out Suncoast took care of them right away. The only real complaint we have is our wood laminate floor in our family room has some gouges and scratches in it from where they moved around our refridgerator that was in the kitchen and subsequently moved to the garage. These marks will not come out and are fairly noticeable. At the time we did not think much about them since we thought the marks would come out but they didn't. I would recommend that a refridgerator should not be rolled or dragged across a wood or wood laminate floor! On a friend's recommendation we had previously hired Suncoast to replace all of our interior doors and we liked the work they did so we had them bid on our kitchen remodel. Their bid was very reasonable and our comfort level with Suncoast was very good as they are very good to work with. We strongly recommend Suncoast for any kitchen remodel and we would certainly hire them again for another home improvement project.
Description of Work: Suncoast gutted our kitchen including cabinets, applicances, floor, and a 7 foot ceiling. The floor included tile in the kitchen, foyer, and dining area which was all removed. Lighting in the kitchen and dining area also had to be completely reworked and the kitchen ceiling was raised to 8 feet. After the demolition was done tile was installed including baseboards in the dining area and family room. We also had all door molding replaced as well as crown molding added in the family room. Suncoast installed new cabinets includng all knobs and handles, organizers, and under cabinet lighting. Our house is 34 years old with very uneven walls so it was challenging to make everything fit perfectly but Suncoast was able to work through these variations in our walls and made everything look beautiful. Suncoast also replaced some cabinets in the laundry room with some that were removed from the kitchen.

Chuck and his crew remodeled our kitchen, so we were confident they would do a great job. And they did. This was challenging work because they installed a curbless shower, which is a time-consuming and laborious endeavor. They had to break out the slab and install a large pan for the curbless area. Despite the difficult nature of the work, they did a super job! Glass tile is also not the easiest tile to install, but it looks great and really sets the tone for the modern look we wanted. The travertine flooring looks super too, and the new vanity as well. Chuck and the gang sailed through the work, consulting with us whenever a decision needed to be made. They always gave us several choices and worked tirelessly to make sure we were happy. It's not just a master bathroom, it's a masterpiece.
Description of Work: Complete remodel of master bathroom. Included: demolition of existing shower, tub, wall, and vanity; installation of travertine flooring and baseboards, ceiling fan, and relocated and completely revamped shower area to make a curbless shower. Shower area flooring was removed (down to the slab) and new pan installed. Installed new drywall and re-plumbed shower to include a rain head and hand held shower head. Installed glass tile on one wall. Installed recessed lighting in master bath and bedroom. Installed new vanity and faucets and toilet.

They showed up on time and finish in one trip. The price was very reasonable and it was what they quoted. They cleaned up when they finished. We are very happy with the results and would recommend them to friends and family.
