I was very disappointed in this service. My main gripe is that he only applied one coat of paint to the trim of my house, even though some of the wood was bare and should have had primer applied first. When I told him I wanted him to apply second coat, he told me that he had applied the paint thickly, so no second coat was needed. I called sherwinn williams to ask them if this was true (which I was prettty certain it wasnt). They confirmed that the first coat had to dry before the second coat was applied. I shared this with him and he reluctantly (and with an attitude) and very quickly applied a second coat to only the parts that were previously bare, not to all the trim. He made me feel as if I was being unreasonable for asking him to do this. S.W. also told me he should have applied a primer under the first coat, which he didnt. He and one employee did all the prep and painting in one day. When he quoted me $900 I assumed it was for at least two days of work. It was obvious he was rushing through the job and not applying paint according to the specs. I must take part of the blame for having trusted him since he was recommended by two friends. I should have specified that I wanted two coats and primer, but I assumed he was professional and would do the job well, especially considering he was recommended by other customers.I also should have gotten more than one estimate. I will never use him again and I will tell the people who recommended him about my experience so they can consider this before recommending him.

The crew showed up by 8am and started working right away. They did both the ceiling and the walls. Since I am replacing the carpet in a couple of weeks I told them not to worry about any spills on the carpet but I was surprised to see only 2 or 3 paint spots. They were very tidy. I made a pot of coffee for them and when I returned to the house later in the day they had washed and stacked the dishes too. There was a space above the fireplace which I said I would paint later because it required moving a heavy mirror but I was pleasantly surprised to see that he took it upon himself to paint the area and replace the mirror. When the job was finished the crew moved furniture back into place and leftover paint was stacked neatly away.
