THE BLIND KING

In November 2015, I contacted the Blind King and a talked with a woman in the store who helped me pick some fabrics and advised what products I could use on my windows. She scheduled an appointment for Larry to come out and measure my windows. Larry showed up measured the windows, gave me an estimate and asked for a deposit. He stated it would take a few weeks to get the shades made and he would come and install. I have called several times and gotten the run around about when he was going to install my window treatments. I've left messages and have gotten no response. I finally got in touch with the accounting office and asked for my money back. All of a sudden Larry returned the call. He returned the call but still had a lot of excuses about why he hadn't been out to do the installation. So, from November until now toward the end of March, I still have no shades and he has my money. After reading the reviews here, I see I am not the only one who has had this experience. Maybe at one time the Blind King was a legitimate business but I have my doubts about this now. I feel that maybe I have been defrauded and he never had any intentions of doing the work just getting my money.

Larry came out to measure and seemed nice enough. We picked colors, he took measurements and he left saying he would email an estimate. A week goes by and I had to contact him via email to get estimate. He did not respond right away and said he was having trouble with his email. We agree to the quote and he said he would get back to us about an installation date. We heard nothing for a week and when I called, the ladies at the office told me they would give him the message. When I finally got ahold of him he said he needed to come out and measure and finalize colors. To my knowledge, my windows had not changed in size from the first measurement and we had already picked out colors. When I told him this, he said, "Oh yeah. We need a deposit". I gave him $1000 deposit. He then told us he would send the order in for fabrication. Weeks went by. I would call him on his cell, call the office and send emails. He would respond about every 4th attempt to contact him. He said he was having trouble with his cell phone and was going to get a new one. (wow! email trouble AND cell phone trouble. Yeah, and the dog ate my homework). He finally sets the date of installation a full 8 weeks after the deposit was made. I took off work on that Friday to be at the installation. The night before he emails me saying he does not have the materials and will have to reschedule. Thanks for making me waste a vacation day. He sets it for two weeks later and assures me it will be installed that Friday. Again, I take off work and, again, he sends me an email less than 24 hours before install and this time blames the fabrication company because they were having "trouble" with the motors for the motorized shades. He tells me it will be another 2 to 4 weeks before they ship the motors. That was enough. I demanded my deposit back and have gone with a different company. What a terrible experience with this company and I am amazed at how unprofessional Larry Mistrestra was during the process. His blatant lies, lack of communication and non-caring manner are great reasons to pass on this vendor.

Larry Mistretta, the owner of this company, has completely left me in the dark. I am a senior citizen and I live alone. This man has taken half of the money for my estimate and quoted that he would be able to come out within 4 weeks, which was perfectly acceptable. This was in late June. It is now the end of August. I have called a dozen or more times to attempt to get ahold of them and absolutely nothing. They still have my 1700 dollars with no sign of any satisfaction whatsoever. I did not know he would be a fly-by-night. Former reviews are pretty good. I want all potential buyers to make note that in the past year this company has FIFTY SEVEN PERCENT (F) ratings. I am not the only one this is happening to. They may have been okay before, they maybe used to perform work for people. The only thing I would give them an A in nowadays is scamming the elderly and stealing their money.

Payment given on 4/25/15 to blind king ($2500.00) and after multiple phone calls by my sister to get the install scheduled, I took over trying to contact these people. They had told her 6 weeks after 4/27 payment. Its now Aug 18. I phoned them a week ago and got told that someone would call me back after I gave them my information. No returned call. Phoned later that day, left a message to be called back. Of course no phone call back. Called this morning. again she took my info and said someone would be in touch. They called back later today but the phone rang once, I answered it and they hung up. I called back. She was surprised. I then wanted to know about my blinds. she put me on hold. Larry came on the phone and said that whoever made my shutters did them backwards. I asked him why someone didn't reach out and let me know stating that it had been 4 months. He said that he has new staff and they didn't know to do that. I then asked why they didn't return my calls last week to which he blamed his new phone system. He said that he would know something tomorrow morning 8/19/15. As the blinds turn. This guy is all excuses and no work..

Terrible, poor service

Phone reception was rude, belligerent and hostile. I identified myself as a previous customer who had a closet collapse and needed to be reinstalled. First put on hold extensively and she seems surprised when I was still holding when she came back to the phone. Afterwards refused to schedule because I couldn't give an exact date that it was originally installed which was years ago. Told her that Larry had done the install and that the first original install was irrelevant since the closet was destroyed. I needed a new closet. She still added that nothing could be scheduled without that date which is preposterous. Horrible customer service. I will never given them any business again.

I would like to thank Larry and Cheryl Mistrella, owners of The Blind King and Home Interiors, Inc Port Richey, Florida, for being professional and responsive to a difficult situation I was having with one of their product suppliers. When all hope was lost dealing with this supplier, I contacted Larry an Cheryl and with one five-minute phone call, Larry offered a solution and took full responsibility for the lack of professional service from this supplier. I now have the correct blinds that match the offices and look great! The Blind King truly deserves an A rating for customer service and product. Deal with them direct for any of your blind needs and I'm sure you will be happy and, if not, they will quickly remedy the situation.

Larry came to give us an estimate and advised us about which windows would work best. He even suggested not doing a window we were thinking about changing indicating through his experience that we would not be happy with the results. He helped us pick out the appropriate blind and did a great job of installing them. We are very happy with our new blinds and would defiitely use Larry at the Blind King again.

Went very well. Two gentlmen arrived on time and completed in good time. Very courteous and professional. Were exceptional very neat and careful covering and protecting soft cypress floors. Very pleased with results.

Kim did the estimate and Jeff did the install expertly. Very competitive prices. Couldn't be happier! It pays to hire pros!

THE SALESPERSON CAME OVER AS WE REQUESTED, THE INSTALLATION WAS DONE QUITE RAPIDLY, AND TO OUR COMPLETE SATISFACTION. WE HAVE BEEN VERY PLEASED WITH THE OPERATION OF THE BLINDS.
