He dropped off people with no experience at my house with a list of things for them to do. He then took off for the day. They ruined everything they tried to do. I paid him a lot of money and got nothing that he promised. He lied to me and cheated me out of much money. Beware, he and his wife are evil people.
Description of Work: A large remolding job. 60K worth.

What a project and one I've been putting off for years. I have a large lanai with a pool and the river rock was completely shot and beyond any further cleaning or servicing. Don's crew came in a chiseled out all the old river rock and hauled it away. They then completely tiled the entire lanai with just some fabulous looking tiles that look like genuine flagstone when completed. They also removed the top surrounding tile layer around the pool and replaced that as well. This is just a beautiful job and my lanai now looks like a resort. A very well done job and I am most satisfied.
Description of Work: Removed all river rock from my very large lanai and replaced with flagstone tile

Well, having used Don for our Garage, I had my doubts about the bath. As usual I deferred to my spouse. After going through what I said in the previous info, I was not as happy with the work in our Master bath. The subs that Don brought in to do the tile work were wonderful. The tilers knew what they were doing and went out of their way to make the uneven walls, etc to look good. This sub was excellent. The sub that did the front of the vanity and the doors and drawer fronts was not so through. Right down the middle of our vanity there is a gap of 1/8th to 1/4th where the woodgrain did not go together. Men say that does not mean anything, but I know that when we go to resale, it will be on a list for correction. I know to many realtors. Also I watch to many shows about remolding . As a extra, We were told at the time that Don put in a brushed nickel fixtures in the shower. Well about 2 months ago, (8/2012) The cartridge in my spouses shower head went bad. Come to find out the fixtures we were told were brushed nickel are actually brushed chrome. Oh well! Don does his work, but be ware you will have additional costs!
Description of Work: My spouse and I met with Don, he drew out a rough design on a pad of paper, We went over several things, including tile, how we wanted the bath to be, etc. we decided to keep our vanity base and have a new top put on and new doors and drawer fronts, along with matching the face of the vanity to match the doors and drawer fronts. Nowhere at that time was moving the window mentioned. I wondered how they would do it without. They started work and worked at it fairly steady, When they started to put up the walls for the doorless shower, OHH!! The window was right in the middle of the wall!. If we wanted to have our window moved so it would not be in the shower, it would be an extra charge. I'm very glad that we bought the light fixtures for over the sinks and the sink faucets. I only with we had bought the shower heads as well. We specified everything was to be brushed nickel from the beginning. When the job was almost done, Don had amnesia about the brushed nickel and tried to tell me that chrome would look just fine in the shower area. I was livid, but my spouse talked me to keep quiet. Don, went and said he bought brushed nickel fixtures and there was an extra charge for them. At this point, I wanted the job done and him gone. From a plumbing aspect, Don is top notch. We will use him in the future as a plumber

As I stated previously, Don was always adding to the cost of the garage. As it was a garage and also my spouses workshop, it did not need to be finished like it would be if it was in a house. My spouse was satisfied with the job Don did. The only complaint he had to me was that Don does not think through his jobs and doesn't know how to
Description of Work: After Hurricane Charley our back garage (1 & 1/2 car) needed to be rebuilt.. I don't remember who gave my spouse Don's name, but we contracted with him to fix our back garage. My spouse always stays around when any one is working on our house. From Don's first estimate to what we ended up paying was a big difference. At each step along the way there was always an additional charge. He completed the job to my husbands satisfaction. And yes we did use Don again for the remodel of our Master bath.

In order to get started in one of the utility rooms he had to move a golf cart that would not start. He told me that he could repair the cart by replacing the battery. He charged me $580.00 for the golf cart repair. I was later told by the golf pro that the wrong battery was used. When I contacted Mr. Davis about this he was argumentative about the situation but agreed to change the 6 volt battery to an 8 volt. He later informed me that he was not able to get his hands on an 8 volt battery and agreed to pay me back the $580 that I had already paid him. I have now written 3 letters since Oct demanding my money back or an explanation. I got no response to the letters but did cross his path one day. He gave me a check for $164 and asked if I was happy. I am not happy he still owes me $416.00 or an explanation. It is a shame that it has come to this because I was happy with his work but his customer service is pitiful.
Description of Work: 90% of the work was remodeling two utility rooms.
