Active Landscaping & Irrigation

The provider emailed me and said they do not service my area so I contacted Angie's List for a refund.

Provider arrived on time and put system on one minute cycle to watch each sprinkler head for correct adjustment to cover grass with right amount of watering. Then adjusted time depending on area in sunny and shady area time wise. Did the job in approxmately 30.minutes.

We received a call from the company within 30 minutes of placing our order for the sprinkler tune up. We scheduled the service for Monday between 8-12. On Monday, Dan called us and let us know he would be at our home by 10:45 and he was actually a little early. He was extremely knowledgable and went right to work with the inspection. Dan reset the clock and told us if that did not cure the problem with the system turning on during thunder and lightning storms that we would probably need a new box. We opted to see if the quick fix would work. So far so good. We had a thunder storm that afternoon and the sprinklers remained off. He found one broken sprinkler head and advised us there would be an additional cost if we wanted him to replace the head. We had it replaced. I found his professionalism and great personality a plus. He never pushed us into something we did not need or want. He was a pleasure to work with. I would call him again and I would recommend him to others. On a scale of 1 to 10 I give them a 10. Awesome company!!!

They were awesome, on time and extremely professional. I've actually moved all my landscaping maintenance to them.

They came on time and made initial repair on broken pipe. Made another appointment for obtain and replace valve and then completed the job. Tech was very pleasant and efficient on both calls. They know what they are doing. Will use them again.

Dan showed up on time. Was very professional. Very polite. Walked us through the different zones. Answered all of our questions. Sent us an estimate on future projects just as he said he would.

(Note: I did not choose this company to install irrigation.) A salesperson from Active Lawn Care and Landscaping came to my property to provide a bid for lawn and landscaping irrigation around our pool and side yards, approximately 1/4 acre. One spray zone around the curved pool deck to minimize well water spray on the deck, and rotors five feet out to irrigate remainder of lawn, as well as the side lawns. The salesperson was not going to be installing or supervising the installation. I told him there was an existing schedule 20 pipe that could be used as a supply for the new zones, and he (as well as other contractors that gave bids) agreed that was fine. After a quick, somewhat arbitrary measurement around the curved pool I was told I would receive a quote. The quote was as follows: ----------------------------------------------------------------- Irrigation: Irrigation Zone $600.00, Qty 3.00, Total $1,800.00 3-zones added (1-spray along pool) Will need to go under or through crushed asphalt. Irrigation:Estimated Time/Parts $0.00, Qty 1.00, Total $0.00 *This is estimated. If additional hours/supplies required then client shall be notified for approval prior to completion. 50% Due Upon Approval - Remainder Due Upon Completion ----------------------------------------------------------------- Here are my issues with this quote: 1. Alarming lack of detail, the least of any bid. No mention of required irrigation controller. 2. We already agreed that no new supply line was necessary "Under or through crushed asphalt". 3. This is actually an estimate and could technically increase. No other bid I received had this stipulation. 4. They require 50% up front. No other bid I received had this stipulation. 5. The actual installer did not see the property. So on the day of the install I would be dealing with people I haven't met, nor have they seen the property. A potential for disagreements and even language barriers. 6. The company that did install the irrigation put in four zones to properly irrigate, with the same requirements specified to them. They may do excellent work but there were far too many red flags on this bid. I could have been upcharged for an irrigation controller, or even arbitrarily charged for "additional hours/supplies" while the project remained unfinished. While they have many "A" ratings I don't know how many of these were for minor repairs as opposed to complete systems. My advice to Active Lawn Care and Landscaping is to send someone who will actually do the work or at least supervise to create a bid, stick to that bid, offer far more detailed bids without up-front payments and eliminate potential additional charges.

It went well. They did a great job. The tune up took 20-30 minutes, and we hired them back to install new heads – enough for the full backyard. The install took an hour and a half, and that was at a later date. We've hired them for regular maintenance. They are busy, but they're good so we don't mind.

It was fine. They did a great job. They sent one tech and he was at the home for an hour.

They were not able to service my area so I am requesting a refund on the deal.

I don't think they checked all of the zones because one of my heads in the front was spouting a geyser of water after they left. Either they caused the issue or they overlooked it. They also failed to correct an issue with a head in the back that needed a new nozzle tip. After their work was over I knew it hadn't been addressed so I asked about it and the repairman said he would fix it before he left. He never did. They were prompt setting up a meeting and were on time though. I suspect this offer is just a rouse to generate bigger sales. It's like taking your car in for a quick oil change and coming out with an estimate for $600 worth of work.

Very prompt and professional service. They provided an accurate estimate and completed the service after I agreed to the estimate. Couldn't ask for a better experience!

He was great-on time - didn't try and sell me things I didn't need and may use him for our Homeowners Square - will call him if I need service again.

It was okay. They worked on my older system. I have sprinklers in my front and back yard.

They did a great job & my front of the house flower garden area looks beautiful. The area had been landscaped when the house was built 10 yrs ago & was fairly well maintained until about 2 yrs ago. Before the work was done it looked like an abandoned house with the entire area completely overgrown. Victor contacted me right away came out & did an estimate. I got their proposal right away & the work was done the next week. When they started the work we decided to remove the old hedges & replace them with new ones easier to maintain. They gave me a price for the extra work & plants, on the spot, & completed the job the same day & it looked great. They were very professional & I was completely comfortable working with them. If I need any lawn or landscaping in the future I will definitely call Active to do the job.

Meet with Victor, found him very knowledgable.

Active Lawn care showed up and looked over the entire sprinkler system. Found and fixed some problems with the central control box program. Then found that one of the sprinkler heads had been covered over by an A/C air cycle machine concrete pad when the house was built ten years ago. This was causing damage by forced soil erosion to the concrete pad and possibly the house foundation. For no extra charge they dug up the line and capped it off. Great work considering our house inspector completely missed this problem. We'll use Active Lawn again.

Tech let me know when he was coming, was friendly, professional and capable. Found minor repairs needed and performed service as advertised through Angie's List deal. JH

Called the Provider. They returned the call and left a voice mail. I then returned the call again two times and left a voice messages each time. Never heard back from them at all after that... Went with another provider who was also on angies list..

Perfect. Great communications. Professional services. Will use them again.
