What a wonderful company to work with! Fredrick, the owner, is honest, reliable and fast. I had 3500 sq. ft. of tile installed during a renovation that the GC did not care for during construction. it was filthy and I could never get it clean. Fredrick came out the day I called for an estimate and had his men there on the exact date we agreed on. Fredrick came four times during the three days it took to get the job done to check on their progress. I can't sing his praises enough after having dealt with so many sub par contractors. Excellent job!

I never thought I'd LOVE terrazzo floors. We purchased a home with terrazzo floors that were 59 years old. The home previously had carpets and walls removed so there were many many holes and ugly cement in the terrazzo - I didn't think it would be salvageable. We debated putting tile over the terrazzo but decided to quote a restoration job. I'm so glad we did! Frederick was a pleasure to work with - responsive, professional, honest and in constant communication during the entire job. He came out and inspected our floor and gave us multiple options - polish, patch or even leave some of it. His team arrived early every day and did a great job. They even came back out to fill additional holes once the job was complete. We are beyond happy with our floors - they are absolutely beautiful! They look brand new and no one can tell where the work was done. I'm so happy that we kept the terrazzo - they are such a beautiful and unique feature of the house. My only regret was not doing the entire house at once - we'll be calling Frederick again to return and work on the remaining rooms!

Fredrick and his crew turned a worn out 60 year old terrazzo floor into a polished work of art. The floor looks new again. Their attention to details and care for their work is only out done by the hard work they put into the job. It was a pleasure working with them.

It couldn't have been better. The best service company I have encountered in my many years in Miami. Frederick was more knowledgeable about Cuban tiles than anyone I have spoken to since I redid my home 20 years ago. The Cuban tiles were a big selling point for me when buying the home. During the redo the workman broke most of the existing tiles in a bathroom. Then began months and way too much money trying to duplicate the old tiles. The only place in Miami that made Cuban tiles the way they were made in the old days couldn't get it right. I tried a place in S. Carolina and in Mexico with no sucess and in the process learned about those kind of tiles. Frederick's expertize and enthusiasiam about his work was most impressive. He took time to explain what was involved and what the result would be. There were other areas I was considering having cleaned, Frederick thought I shouldn't do them. It took me about a year to have the work done after he gave me the estimate. When I finally called to get the job done, He had all the info, estimate and insisted on keeping the price as quoted. A screen on the porch door was ripped during the job. Frederick delivered the check for the repair days after I told him what the new screen cost. The handyman/carpenter never gave me a reciept, no problem. Now the floors look much better than I had hoped for. I wholeheartedly recommend this company.

Our countertop was badly scratched and had lost its shine. We gambled on refinishing, rather than putting in a new counter top. Frederick came for the estimate beforehand and was very honest and professional with us. The workmen arrived on time. They were very friendly, neat, and efficient. The job was small and we had to pay the minimum fee, which was still very reasonable. The job which they did was excellent. We can recommend them without hesitation.

Frederick met me at the house within one hour of first contact. He was early and has a professional manner. The thing I liked the most about him is his first question to me was about my intentions for the home- was I going to move in, was I going to flip or rent it. This tells me immediately that he is trying to understand my needs and provide a solution that is the best fit for me. Frederick cautioned me that after a lot of work, this terazzo floor would likely maintain liquid stains due to years of a carpet backing attached to it, and that since I was flipping it fast, a floating wood floor would be a much more economical and attractive solution. We shook hands and I vowed to consult him on my next terrazzo floor. A man willing to walk away from a job is likely a trustworthy one. I look forward to seeing that frederick's work is at the level of his professionalism on the next job.

There aren't enough good things I can say about AA&J. From my initial contact with Frederick, the overall experience was great. He promptly responded to my phone call and was able to come out within 48 hours to give me an estimate. Not being a native of South Florida, I'm not as familiar with regular wear/tear on stone floors and maintenance required. Frederick helpfully explained what was and wasn't possible as we had several small and a few medium sized holes scattered throughout the space. After agreeing on the terms of the project on Thursday, AA&J was able to send out people Monday morning to start. Altogether, the work took 2 1/2 days to complete. I was impressed that everyone that worked on my house has been with AA&J for 5-10 years+. No shady sub-contractors here. Better yet - they showed up on time every day - arriving before 8:15 each day so I didn't have to worry about being late to work. Frederick showed up with the team the first day to introduce me to his workers and walk me through what they would be doing. He also arrived with the team every morning from that point on to check the work and progress. My furniture was carefully moved to accommodate the work each day. All I was responsible for was moving my breakables (china, etc) out of the bigger pieces of furniture that were going to be moved. When I returned home from work each night, all equipment and materials were removed and we were able to still utilize our kitchen and the majority of the space. They went out of their way to provide exemplary service - I came home one evening to find that they had even brought in the empty trash can from the curb for me! At the end of the project, Frederick walked through the space with me to make sure I was happy and gave me some tips on ongoing care for the floors. The floor turned out beautifully. We had another flooring company come in 2 weeks later to give us an estimate to replace our upstairs carpet with hardwood. The person they sent out remarked on our floor downstairs - he was so impressed with AA&J's work that he asked for the name of the company so he could refer clients!

Frederick was very knowledgeable and spent time going over what needed to be done and what we could expect. Since it was terracotta, they needed to use Ph neutral cleaners and polish. He said it would take 4 to 5 days if they ran into problems. This was the first refinish in about 25 years. Prior to the work starting, we removed all the furniture except for the very heavy pieces. When the crew arrived, Frederick went over what needed to be done, that they should move the remaining furniture as needed, do 3 to 4 passes with the cleaner, and 2 to 3 coats of the polish. It only took one day for the cleaning, followed by a day to be sure everything was dry. On the third day they did the polishing. The crew did 4 coats. It looked great except for a couple of areas where it did not seem to shine as the other areas did. I called Frederick and he was over that afternoon. He identified the areas as having more than normal wear and said the crew would be by the next day. They arrived in the morning and touched up the problem areas with two more coats of polish. That solved the problem. It was a great experience and our floor looks better that the day we moved in 25 years ago.

The floors had been covered in carpet many years ago, but the carpet had been removed about eight years ago. The carpet nails remained where they were, and so AA&J had to cut the carpet nail heads off and even them with the floor. They also had to fill many, many holes in the terrazzo itself before they could polish it. It is true there were numerous holes to be filled, and they did fill the edges very well, but they did not fill the holes in the middle of the hallway. Also, they did not fill all the holes in the other rooms either, especially those in the center. Although many holes were filled, we estimate that between 10 to 20 percent of the holes were missed. Because these rooms had large areas with a great many personal items and furniture for us to move before the work could be done, according to our wishes the work was completed in three stages. In order for the terrazzo holes not to look as if they were filled, small stones needed to be set in the fill material by AA&J. This was done proficiently in the areas that were first finished, but less toward the end of the job. When we called attention to one of the larger holes filled without any stones at all, there was no argument, the manager simply had that hole redone. There were two steps, one between the dining area and Florida room, and one between the Living room and Florida room. When the job was nearly finished, we were told that the down-side of the steps could not be polished to match the rest of the floor, but the holes were not filled on the down-side of the steps either. To their credit, AA&J did help us by removing approximately a six inch wide, by one inch high, by six foot long concrete, sloped, slab barrier located in front of our French doors leading to the back yard. They then filled the one, two and one-half inch wide trench left, and also five, one-inch holes (all with no stones added). This extra work was not in the original estimate, but the workman wanted the room to look better, and we were not charged any extra.. After the floors were polished they were not perfect, but they look very nice for flooring that was originally installed in 1955. They have a look of wetness that is not wet, and we are pleased with the work. It took AA&J approximately eight days of work to accomplish all of the contract, with two workers for approximately six of the days, and one worker for two of the days. Everyone that we were in contact with was very pleasant and friendly.

I can not say enough good things about Fredrick and his crew. We called him in when the floor guy we were using at the time was not bring the terrazzo back to the condition he had promised. I called Fredrick on a Sunday and two hours later he was at my door. He was 100% honest and upfront with me about what was possible as far as the restoration went. He showed up on time on the day we agreed upon and completed the project on time. The final result far exceeded our expectations. He left our house clean and in the same condition he found it in. I couldn't be happier with the level of service and professionalism. Fredrick was a dream to do business with. After 7 weeks of renovations and multiple contractors coming in and out of my home, Fredrick was by far the easiest to work with and the most professional.

Frederick answered my call right away and even came to my house to give me an estimate the same day. Extremely courteous, knowledgeable and professional. AA&J Floor Care are experts in the care of stone floors. I have a very porous marble installed in my house and other companies that I have hired in the past have made a mess of my floors. The crew worked diligently most of the day always being careful with my furniture and baseboards. My marble floors are now clean and shiny!

Managed to save me time and effort and money.

We decided to restore an old 1956 home that had original terrazzo floors underneath layers of old carpet, linoleum and adhesive. As we started to pull up the old flooring, the terrazzo looked yellow, stained, and horrible. We did not know whether it would be worth it to try to restore the old terrazzo so we called and received estimates from 3 well-rated Angies List providers who worked with terrazzo. Frederick came out the day after we called to give us his opinion and an estimate. He was on time and very thorough. We were impressed with his knowledge, experience and honesty. He explained that although he expected the floors to look much better when he was done, he could not assure us that all of the stains could be removed. Most importantly, to someone who is detail oriented like I am, it was clear that Frederick really cared about the quality of his work and would do his best to make sure we were satisfied. Although he was not the least expensive estimate we received, he was well worth the price and we are so happy that we went with him! He and his crew spent about a week patching holes, lightening stains with poltice and polishing our floors. His crew was on time, diligent, professional and friendly. Frederick was great, he tried different poltice strengths for me and even re- did some patches to more closely match my floor. Frederick stopped by and called every day to update us on his progress. He continued to work above and beyond what we would have expected to lighten or remove all of our stains. When he was done, our floors looked amazing. Everyone who comes into the house first comments on how beautiful the terrazzo looks. I could not be happier with the whole experience and would highly recommend AA&J.

Frederick is a genius with natural stone of all types. He knows how to restore and care for them properly. He and his crew worked arduously for three days to restore these heavily scratched and damaged floors to a sparkling like- new appearance. Frederick is a perfectionist and a very knowledgeable gentleman. Their work was impressive by any standards. He even left us a gallon of neutral cleaner to be sure we maintained properly this meticulous work. We would strongly recommend his work to anyone needing floor care.

We recently purchased a home and the house has terrazzo floors. I contacted Fredrick after seeing the reviews on Angie's List and he was out there the next day for an estimate. They worked on our floors within the time span we agreed too and provided us with an update at the end of each day. Fredrick was a pleasure to work with. He was extremely professional, trustworthy, punctual, and courteous. I would definitely use his company again and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to polish their floors.

Frederick came to my home as scheduled to preview my job and provide an estimate for his services. When i contacted him to schedule my job, he was able to commit very quickly to completing my work in a timely fashion. His crew was courteous, professional and efficient. My kitchen floor is absolutely beautiful and has been restored beyond my expectation. I would highly recommend AA&J, without reservation.

Found Frederick through Angie's List after shopping around through various companies. Contacted him on the weekend and he responded next available business day (Monday). He scheduled an appointment for the same day and came out to the home and provided an estimate. He stated what he was going to do, how he was going to do it and how long it would take. I decided to go with him after a week of various back and forth phone calls and comparing him to vendors in a comparable price range. Decided to go with him as he was the cheaper of the two final options and seemed to provide the same services and appeared to have the same skill set and knowledge as the more expensive counterpart. From what he initially stated, the process took a little bit longer but everything else was spot on. It took a little bit longer as I had the company come back out to the home to retouch areas that I was not completely happy with (certain edges and corners). When Frederick came to the house for the first time the floor was very dirty, dull, cloudy and scratched. Once the company came out for the last time, the end result was a shiny (not extreme high gloss but more of a natural look) and each marble chip was distinct from the other chips around it. Overall, Frederick did a great job in getting in touch with me. He provided constant updates if I was not at home. If I asked him to redo a portion of my floor that was not to my liking and even if he did not agree he would do as asked. Apart from the company coming out to finish the spots I asked them to redo, there was a small amount of debris and trash that I had to clean up left by the company (not a total mess). The work itself was a great job and the company managed to get out some stains that I was surprised they were able to eliminate. Not included in the job: taping up the baseboards. The company only taped up the appliances and the cabinets. Frederick did say he could tape up the baseboards for an additional charge (which for the amount paid I did not think it was warranted). This caused some paint chipping on my baseboards as Frederick stated it would happen. I asked Frederick not to do crystallization (vitrification) even though Frederick would have provided it at no extra charge. Did not choose to add this process as I wanted a more natural look. He did recommend I do it though. I hope this polishing lasts for years to come as he stated. When I redo my kitchen, I am going to have him come back and polish the areas that will be affected once cabinets are removed and repositioned.

We were most pleased with AA & J who recently cleaned and polished our travertine marble floors and stairs. The ten year old floors are better looking now than when they were new. Frederick's crew arrived on time, were extremely careful moving furniture and cleaning up. We highly recommend them for any tile polishing/cleaning project. Five stars are not enough.

Frederick showed up when he said he would for both the estimate and job. He carefully explained what he could and could not do, how the job would look when finished, why he needed to do what he said he'd do and why he couldn't do any more than he told me he couldn't. The floors and walls look great! There is not a drop of debris or dust anywhere! Frederick kept his word. He did a fantastic job at a fair price -- I couldn't ask for more. Without hesitation, I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

Frederick and his team completed the job on our limestone floors today. We are extremely satisfied with the results. We have had our limestone floors serviced a few times before but this was by far a much better result. We were actually very impressed with the entire process from start to finish. The owner Frederick was at my place the day after I called initially. He assessed the floors, gave me a quote, didn't pressure me at all, even said he would not call me back to bother me and that if I decided to use him just to call him back at any time. He seemed genuinely excited about the opportunity to work on our floors. They had accumulated quite a bit of dirt and he knew very well how good they could/would look when he was done. I appreciated that excitement - both about what he does and what he knew he could do for us. I thought about it for a week and then called him to schedule the job. Frederick showed up the first morning with his team to ensure they were clear on the process. He took the time to walk me through the process as well. The job took 5 days which what he suggested it would take initially. Frederick was here every day probably 3 times a day to check on the progress and to ensure he was around for any questions we might have. And at the end of every day he texted me to let me know when his guys were leaving, what he wanted me to do in terms of walking around the various rooms with socks or not at all or leaving his drying fan on, and what the plan was for the next morning. And if I texted him back he responded right away. His team was hard working and a pleasure to have in my home. They were very careful moving furniture around and protecting the space (i.e. protecting wood cabinets, adjacent wood floors, stainless kitchen appliances that were low to the floor, etc). And the team cleaned up before leaving every day. They took very few breaks (quick lunch break on my balcony and a maybe 5 minute break when my husband made them coffee in the afternoon - that was it!). They were focused, worked hard and were very respectful. I asked Frederick about maintaining the floors in good condition to reduce the need to go through this process too often. He gave me a special cleaner without charge and walked me through how/when to use it. He also gave me tips like getting a mat outside our front door to wipe off dirt, or taking shoes off when we entered the apartment and putting rubber bottom clean shoes/slippers on instead. Then I asked him to look at my balcony limestone floors and give me a quote to work on those. I was impressed with his answer. He said he could do the work but he recommended I not incur the cost. It would be expensive. Again, he could do the work but because we live on the ocean with the salt water/rain/etc. impacting the floors daily, the clean look I would pay for wouldn't last but a few months and I would not feel I got the value for the investment. Instead, he purchased a special broom and cleaning product for me to use to get the dirt out and suggested I go through the process of simply cleaning the floors with these products every few months. Anyway, I highly recommend AA&J Floor Service and I will not hesitate to use them again. And I thank all of you who have used AA&J Floor Service and posted a review on Angie's LIst. Because that is the only reason I found Frederick and his company and why my floors are looking so good today.

The owner was able to come to my house on the same day to provide an estimate. However, what I needed done did not match their services. The owner was kind enough to provide me with the information I needed to try to resolve the issue in another way. With such honesty and helpfulness, I strongly recommend this company.

I was very impressed with the owner Frederick and his crew. It was a 2 week job and they even worked on the weekend to get a majority of the project done before Thanksgiving. The owner answered all of my questions and gave me lots of advice on how to care for the floor after they left. The owner also came to my house several times per day to check on the progress and address the bad stains personally. I had the same job done once before 5 years ago by another provider and while it was cheaper, the results were poorer and they only worked on the project for a few days. I believe with this type of service that you get what you pay for... so I wouldn't hesitate using AA&J Floor Care again or recommending them to others.

The process is very labor intensive. The employees were wonderful, moving all the furniture from room to room and back again, and working very carefully so as not to damage anything. The end result - my Cuban tile is restored to near perfection! Keep in mind that my floors are 62 years old. The owner was on the job each day inspecting the work and answering all our questions. He was very professional and reliable.
