 + -1 moreHad problems with my A/C and took it to Larry's Service Center. They thought it was the Compressor and after checking with me installed a new one. Also found a couple of other things wrong and replaced them. I picked up the car when expected and parked it for a couple of weeks. When went to use the car at that time the A/C wasn't working, I called Larry's again and they told me to bring it back right away. They had to replace a few other pieces but they did not charge me for them or the labor to do it. They called me and kept me abreast of the service along the way. At the end they washed and cleaned the car before turning it back to me. They aim to please and to do a good and professional job.

They are so honest, they have told me on two occasions I did not need service I had requested. They are prompt, and it's so easy to get your car to them anytime because you can leave it at their Chevron Station on Alton Rd. 24 hrs. a day. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

They wanted to charge me over $3000 for the service and some miscellaneous work. I dropped my car off with Gary in the morning and picked it up in the afternoon. When I asked him how much I owed he stated: and quot;$80and quot;. I told him that surely he misunderstood me and that this was supposed to be a major service. He responded: and quot;if you asked me to clean out your refrigerator, I could throw everything away and buy all new stuff OR I could check the expiration date on the milk, the yogurt, the cottage cheese, etc. and replace what's neededand quot;.... I've been using them ever since for both my car and my wife's car and have never been disappointed.

He did it as promised, when promised, and because he found nothing that needed repairing, he didn't charge me anything! Even though he probably spent 3-4 hours going over the vehicle. Oh, yes, he repaired one small oil leak by re-sealing.
Description of Work: I asked him to go over my recently purchased '87 Mercedes 420-SEL to check hoses, electrical connections, drive train, seals, suspension, etc. -- a complete physical. He did it as promised, when promised, and because he found nothing that needed repairing, he didn't charge me anything! Even though he probably spent 3-4 hours going over the vehicle. Description of Work: I brought my Ford E 350 to Larrys service center on tuesday morning June 12, 2012. I was met by Gary who was very nice. He told me he would charge my battery and try to figure out why my engine was stalling. I worked all day waiting to hear from Gary but I never did. I finally called Gary like a half hour before their closing. He told me he charged my battery but he couldn't diagnose the problem with my engine because the computer they use nowadays to diagnose problems on a vehicle wont work on a vehicle as old as mine. He told me he didn't want to work on my van and just guess at what was wrong as this could end up costing me a lot of money. So he advised me to just pick up my van at their Chevron and bring it back to my other mechanic who couldn't figure out was wrong either. I picked it up the next night and I tried to drive it home but it stalled out two or three blocks from the station. unfortunately this was the night where it poured down rain. fortunately though a very nice girl walking by on her way to Publix, offered me one of her service calls from AAA. I had the van towed home and that was that. In closing I'd like to say what a nightmare. I had very high hopes for Larry's. The place is very clean and looks very organized. I just think they dont like to work on older vehicles because they can't hook up the computer to them. So if you have an older vehicle dont waste your time briging it to them. I wish they had an old time mechanic who doesn't need a computer to diagnose problems with vehicles.

 + -1 moreAnother excellent job by Mark. Car was difficult to shift and I suggested the clutch might be ready for replacement given it's age but Mark said that he would investigate. He called later to inform me that it was just the master and slave cylinders and it would be ready later in the day. I was ready and works well.

 + -1 moreWhen I first moved to Miami Beach, in 2009 I went to Larry's because of the convenient location to my workplace. At that time they replaced a fuel pump. I have an older model Jeep so I have been there a handful of times. This last time, although they do not perform major engine work, looked at my vehilce and told me what was probably wrong. They did this at no charge also. There prices are fair, work done properly and quickly. The GM Gary, and the entire staff at Larry's are great. Customer Service like the "old days" I would HIGHLY (and frequently do) recommend Larry's Service Center

In particular, ask how necessary a certain job is, whether a less expensivebut workable alternative is available, what sort of warranty applies, and how long it might be before related work has to be done again. Your questions will be answered honestly.
Description of Work: We first discovered Larry's in 1983, when a friend's car went dead near our house and they fixed whatever it was for a mere $11.00. We have been using them ever since, for both ,maintenance and for both minor and major repairs on several different cars., They are scrupulously honest and professional, and will give honest advice if something is necessary, desirable but not necessary, or simply a matter of maintenance. In some cases, they have done minor jobs at no charge. We consider ourselves fortunate in that our house is only a few blocks from their garage. They have done work for us ranging from low single digits to high double digits. I reluctantly gave them a B rather than an A on price only because, while scrupulously honest, they do charge the usual substantial rates for labor by the hour. Ditto for punctuality, as there have been just a few times when they have taken a day or so longer than originally stated. Founded and formerly managed by Larry Raybon, his son Mark has now taken over. Both have earned the title of Good Citizens. South Florida has always been infested with crooked auto repair places, several of which victimzied us in the past, and we are pleased to have discovered and used Larry's.

 + -1 moreI have used them a number of times. Very pleasant experience. I always deal with Gary, the manager I think. Once I said I needed an alignment. When I came to pick it up, he said it just needed a slight adjustment, and didn't charge me for it. He could have told me he did it and charged full price. No way I would have known. Other similar experiences give me the feeling they can be trusted, which isn't always the case in this business.

Vehicle inspection not required for registration renewal and car was sold "as is." Buyer was informed of problem. If I again need auto service in the southen half of Miami Beach, I would certainly include Larry's in my search for a repair shop

From day 1, the guys here have been so helpful and I'm very appreciative. For anything I need, I can just take my car over and they'll look at it right then and give me an honest opinion about what the situation is and if it's an easy fix. If I need to leave my car there for them to work on, someone always drives me to my office, which is very helpful.
Description of Work: I have been to Larry's numerous times over the past year and a half. They have done oil changes, replaced a fuel hose, checked out my air conditioning on 2 different cars (they are both older) and some other substantial work. The estimate I gave above was for their most recent work, where they replaced a leaky fuel hose.
