tech showed up on time, appeared to be very professional. took a look at the door bottom, said this was the only door made that he could not replace the bottom stripping. he would not or could not explain, just insisted he could not replace it. said he would replace the rollers for the same price. i stupidly agreed. he then did the tune-up, but did not do everything called for. after he left i woke up and realized all of the above. couple days later, i called the office, left message, no one has called back to date. should have read and believed the many reviews citing their failure to respond to customers. all in all, a lousy experience. would have been a good deal if they actually did what they offered. angie's list should drop this outfit. not a good reflection on you or them.

Island Garage door NEVER responded to my communications after I paid for their service. Fortunately, Angie's List promptly refunded my payment.

Technician arrived at stated time, evaluated the operation, and performed adjustments and lubrication within 20 minutes. :-)

We'd organised the service via the Angie List Offer some 3 months earlier but could not have it performed immediately as we were not at the property until Sept. When it came to arrange the service call, we had some difficulty contacting Island but this was understandable as they were probably busy on post-hurricane fixes. The tech who visited us was a really personable young guy who was very professional and polite. He performed the work efficiently and also took time to explain the workings/operations of the garage door mechanisms and what we could do to prevent future problems. He left us with a quiet, smoothly operating garage door and explained that we could call Island if any problems for them to fix under warranty. Overall we are very satisfied with the service and the outcome

The representative of Island Garage Door was on time and conducted himself in a professional manner, yet he was friendly and answered some questions that I had. All in all it was a pleasant experience.

After buying the $39 tuneup special, I tried messaging via Angie's to schedule. They didn't respond due to damage from Hurricane Irma at their office. When I called, I got an appointment the same week, and Doug came right on time. He did the inspection and lubrication. He replaced a minor broken part, and the door does run smoother and quieter now. As I expected, he also recommended that I get new rollers and springs. I deferred that because it is quite expensive. However, he knew what he was doing, and I would hire him again.

Called in the morning and Doug came out that afternoon. Couldn't have been nicer or more professional. Great service!

The actual installation process was good. When John the owner quoted the price to me he said the motor and belt had a lifetime warranty. However that was not the case the actual warranty was 4 years on the motor and 10 years on the belt. John told me he would grant a lifetime warranty on the belt and motor due to his mistake. He told me he would send something in writing but I have not received anything after almost 2 weeks. I have emailed him several times asking him to please send me the warranty information he promised me but he does not respond to my request. I liked Island Garage Doors at first but this type of situation is unacceptable. When you promise a customer you're going to make a situation right you need to honor your word. That's the type of thing that "fly by night" companies do.

I thought it went great at first. The technician was early for the appointment, quick to complete the job, and everything appeared in working order. Within two months, the keyless entry pad stopped working. The box he left with the "instruction page" was not helpful to troubleshoot why it won't work. I have called numerous times, left messages, and even spoke to someone once. She was supposed to provide my information to the technician to troubleshoot it over the phone or come out if needed. No one ever called. So I called again several times. It has been almost 3 months since I started contacting them and it is still not fixed. Unfortunately, now I will have to pay someone else to come out and fix what shouldn't have broken after 2 months. The Angie's List deal is not worth the trouble or the extra money you will have to pay when it breaks.

Another Garage door company came out and said we needed new springs, rollers, sensors, mother board, etc for a total of $1000. Since we had a prepurchase inspection by a home inspection company a few weeks prior with only minor problems identified, we asked the company to leave. I went to Angies List which is where I should have started, and found Island Garage. They said they were busy but would fit us in. After a few calls to us to update us on the schedule, the gentleman arrived and went right to work. In a short time had our door working like it was brand new.

The company came out and examined my garage door but determined that with the garage door that I have the service would not work. The serviceman was friendly, professional, and advised me what to do next.

I wrote a review when this job was done about a year ago, but I just have to write a second review. I lost the step by step instructions to change the keyless entry code they gave me. And since I have called them twice to get new instructions. Each time they were gracious and patient like i was paying them all over again. It's one thing to get great service at time of install, but to continue getting this high level of care after the sale is something that should be acknowledged and appreciated.

Although they were a no show for my first appointment, due to a computer glitch, their technician Doug more than made up for that He was on time even had to wait a few minutes for me. He tuned up my door as per my Angie's list agreement, and then pointed out an area of concern. He spotted a rusty cable that could have been dangerous. He explained the problem, and promptly fixed it. I will definitely hire them again.
