S&W Kitchens (Melbourne, FL office in particular) is a great company to work with, and Laura Scott is a wonderful designer. I hired them to remodel our 35 year old kitchen and had no clue where to begin. Laura walked us through the planning process with great patience and ease (and cheerful demeanor) beginning with an assessment of what we currently had and what we were hoping to accomplish in the finished design. With that understanding of our needs she worked up several proposed configurations and presented them to us as 3D and 2D presentations. Then she guided us through the material selection process for color, style, and mechanical configuration. Once we were satisfied with all that, she worked up a final plan including a detailed List of Materials and work plan. During that process we also met with Dale (construction lead). Together they laid out a timeline for the construction giving us a time window of best case and worst case duration. For the most part, they hit the timeline as promised and finished within the original prediction window. The work crews were polite and friendly. We felt very comfortable having them around the house (no security concerns.) They answered any questions we had while they worked and during the job progress. They worked carefully and kept the house as clean as possible by removing construction debris each day and hauling it away (no dumpster in the driveway!). Floors were protected with heavy-duty cardboard mats that were taped in place to prevent damage. Our hardwood floors came through the process without damage. We used plastic drop-cloths over everything each day to shield from dust. (It's inevitable that dust gets everywhere. Buy a stock of A/C filters and plan on changing them out every day or at least every other day during demolition and early phases of the construction, especially if drywall work is going on.) They can also place plastic sheeting to close off rooms as much as possible but the circulating air carries a lot of dust around the house nonetheless. Measurements were taken of our kitchen on at least two occasions ('measure twice, cut once' theory) so as to be sure they were correct. However, we still ended up ordering a special cabinet in one position as the one cabinet was too wide for the location because they ordered the wrong size. The quartz countertop fits perfectly. Alignment and seam work are exceptional. I couldn't find the seam until my wife pointed it out to me. The quality of the back-splash tile work is also exceptional. The installer meticulously hand fit pieces around the difficult areas. After the cabinets were installed, Laura inspected them and ordered replacement bits for anything that was scratched or dinged or had questionable surface finish. They cabinet installers adjusted all the drawer slides and cabinet hinges for proper operation. They had first indicated that they would stage all the materials in their warehouse and then bring them over, then we discussed storing them in the garage, but we were concerned about humidity issues and bugs, but in the end the materials were all staged in our family room. (We moved everything into the other rooms to make room for the materials. It had two benefits: first, it was adjacent to the kitchen so it made work efficient and easy; secondly, all materials were under A/C and so all dimensions stabilized in the wooden parts prior to installation. It was inconvenient for us because of the crowding but it was probably the best solution in the end.) It is inevitable that remodeling is inconvenient. However, S&W Kitchens did their best to make everything flow smoothly. We are very pleased with the finished result and I easily recommend S&W Kitchens and Laura Scott for anyone seeking to remodel their kitchen.

Thank goodness for S&W Kitchens! My husband and I had had bad experiences with renovations and contractors in the past and were beginning to think that there was no such thing as a good contractor. Luckily, we found S&W Kitchens. Whitney Rutledge immediately understood our style and knew what we were after from a design standpoint. She planned out our kitchen renovation for maximum utility and suggested features that brought our kitchen renovation to a whole new level. We are thrilled with what she and her team accomplished and we couldn't be happier! We definitely recommend Whitney and S&W Kitchens for any project. You won't be disappointed!

My husband and I found S&W Kitchens on a Google search. We had 2 bad experiences in the past with remodeling projects and were very cautious about choosing the right company. Whitney Ruthledge with S&W Kitchens contacted us and from our first meeting, we knew we had made the right choice. We worked with Whitney for several months planning the remodeling of 3 bathrooms. After the first meeting she had preliminary drawings and great suggestions for tile, cabinets, hardware, etc. She is incredibly talented and has a real gift for design and color. We absolutely loved the plans she did for the bathrooms. She had a range of product suggestions and did an excellent job working within our budget. We started construction in October 2018 and Mike Fray was our Construction Manager. Mike did an excellent job keeping us informed of the process and updated us immediately with any changes. Both Whitney and Mike were at our house frequently checking on the progress and they were both always easy to reach if anything came up and we had questions. All the contractors worked under Mikes supervision and we did not have any problems at all. The bathrooms were finished within the time frame they planned and we are absolutely thrilled with the work. We were so happy with S&W Kitchens and Whitney and Mike, that even before the other bathrooms were finished, we began working with Whitney on remodeling the master bathroom, as long as we had Whitney and Mike back on the project! We had a little trouble getting the permits for the master bathroom and Alison Hamilton at S&W Kitchens worked with us the get the situation resolved. Alison was as easy to work with as Whitney and Mike and we were so impressed with her diligence and hard work. We can’t say enough good things about S&W Kitchens, and Whitney, Mike and Alison and highly recommend them!

Shirley Aguilu was exceptionally helpful in selecting our materials and great to work with, Price was higher than I expected, but I guess you get what you pay for. :) Had only one issue with an employee, and he is no longer with the company. Kitchen took a little longer than expected but was done right. Baths were right on schedule.

We used S&W in Palm Harbor. They made the kitchen renovation painless thanks to a Mike (supervisor) and Sarah (designer). They were in contact with us constantly to let us know the day and time each person was scheduled to be at our home. All the workers were prompt and courteous especially Tony, Chris, Brian, Paul and Andre. The work was even finished ahead of schedule. When we are ready for our bathroom renovation, we will be using S&W!

The S&W team lead by Krista was phenomenal to work with during our entire process. She, Mollie, and Haleh from the Winter Park location were intuitive, creative, and had follow through after every meeting. They gave clear direction and recommendations. Dale, their specialist that did the install was professional, polite, and very talented in making any needed adjustments to our cabinets. There's nothing better than working with experienced people that actually listen when we're investing in high quality cabinets with smart designs. I would 100% recommend them for any design needs.

We had managed several home renovation projects in our previous home and we were reluctant to start another one in our current home knowing the time commitment and the disruptions to your life. As a result, we thought we would start with a small project of replacing our kitchen cabinet doors. Our research brought us to S&W Kitchens. After our initial meeting and learning they were a full service company, we decided to switch projects and move forward with the renovation of one of our guest bathrooms. Once we connected with Lacie Rice in the South Tampa office, we loved the entire process! She was amazing to work with and had great design ideas. The S&W process was fantastic – Lacie and Mike (construction foreman) facilitated everything for us from design, demo, renovations, and inspections. Lacie reviewed every finish/detail, budget and calendar with us up front. The timeline was accurate and the project was completed on time and within budget. Lacie and Mike were awesome to work with during the project – they were very communicative and were great with our dog. We did not worry about a thing – it was the smoothest renovation project we have ever had! The finished product is beautiful – we love the new bathroom and our family does too! We highly recommend using S&W for anyone that is contemplating any house renovations. We will be using S&W on our next project. Thank you Lacie, Mike and S&W Kitchens!

We started out with the intention of hiring a contractor to perform a modest kitchen renovation (replacing cabinet doors and countertops), but even that proved to be daunting as we needed to manage and schedule each trade separately. Then we found S&W Kitchens. S&W acts as the general contractor and handles everything from design to renovation and appliance installation. Our modest kitchen renovation mushroomed into a whole house makeover – we replaced everything in the kitchen (including the appliances which we ordered through S&W), added new wood flooring throughout the house, renovated a bathroom, added crown molding, built out a new pantry, and more. Lacie in the south Tampa office was fantastic throughout the design and construction process. She spent countless hours with us not only in her shop and in our home, but also accompanied us to our numerous visits to varied locations to select our countertops, plumbing fixtures, electrical fixtures, etc. Eric was the construction foreman on our project and was likewise great to work with. We couldn’t be happier with the finished product and would definitely recommend S&W to anyone contemplating a home renovation project, large or small.

The project started on time, but ran into issues due to an inexperienced foreman. S&W replaced the foreman with a very experienced foreman named Mike Frary, who quickly took charge and was able to get the project moving. His attention to detail, our concerns, and his follow through were excellent. We have been very happy with our end result - many positive comments from family and friends. If S&W is selected for your project, definitely request that Mike be your project foreman.

I used S&W for my kitchen and bath remodel. They did a great job for the most part but with all projects of this scope, there are bound to be a few hiccups along the way. The designer assigned to us, Sarah, made the initial planning process as painless as possible. Our angular walls in the kitchen were a challenge, but she managed to lay out a floor plan that worked for us incorporating our needs, ideas, and suggestions along the way. She helped us pick out tile, hardware, cabinets and countertop, lighting, appliances, bath fixtures, and everything else needed. There was a few measurement mistakes with the shower door, laundry room cabinets, kitchen window, and bathroom mirror that created delays in the schedule but they tried to work around them as best they could. The one area where we felt the ball was dropped was her not being with us on certain key, stressful dates during our project after being told she would be with us every step of the way. Two days in particular were the first day of the demo and especially the date of the cabinet delivery. We were left to deal with that ourselves and were not happy about the no show. Short of that, she did a good job. Our project manager on site, Mike, was fantastic. He gave us a schedule with a time line for the entire project and worked fiercely to make sure everything was done correctly, on time, and to our satisfaction. He kept us appraised of who was coming, when, what work was being done and the time to expect them. He was always cheerful, friendly, knowledgeable, respectful, and responsible. He was a stabilizing force that I came to rely on daily. He even went above and beyond with help fixing a few small things for us that were not his responsibility, which was greatly appreciated. He gets an A+. I would hire him again in a minute. A few other stand-out employee's who worked on the project were: Handy-man Stewart, who could seemingly do it all from painting to carpentry, and was probably the nicest guy I've ever met in my life. His attention to detail was spot on and he handled every job efficiently and expertly with a dash of down home southern charm. Another A+ employee there. Tile guy Mike, who laid the kitchen floor, put up the backsplash, and tiled the bathroom shower was exceptional. He was a perfectionist who measured every inch of each tile job with precision and laser sharp attention to detail. The results were flawless. The final key player was cabinet installer John, another skilled craftsman who not only cut and installed all cabinetry, but also installed our windows and shower door. He was faced with a few challenges from incorrect measurements, most notably with an over-sized floor to ceiling laundry room cabinet which he had to figure out how to try and fit into a small area that was not easily accessible. It created a lot of heavy lifting and extra work for him to have to take it apart and reassemble it back together, but he got it done. There were a few issue's with plumbing and electrical work that created problems with inspections, but project manager Mike made sure everything was resolved and brought up to code. Two groups I wasn't impressed with were the painters and the cleaning people. I don't think the painters properly prepped the walls as there were many blemishes in places were picture hooks or nails weren't properly removed or patched. The cleaning women spent most of their time on site chatting, did not do a thorough job with cleaning out cabinets and dusting, and made clean, newly painted baseboards stained and dirty from a sloppy mopping job. I refused a second clean-up visit at the end of the project because after the first time, I knew I would do a better job. There was also two occasions when workers brought family members into my home (one brought his wife, another his young son) even though they were not covered by S&W insurance and should not have been on the premises. The project manager was not aware of this and followed up to make sure it wouldn't happen again. All in all everything worked out in the end. We came away from the project with a beautiful new kitchen and bathroom, and the feeling that the folks at S&W did their best to make such an intrusive, messy, disruptive, time consuming situation as stress free, organized and professional as possible. I would absolutely hire them again if needed. I recommend you do too.

When we decided to do a complete teardown and redo of our kitchen, we knew we needed a full-service company that would manage the process, start to finish. We definitely got that with S&W Kitchens. They took care of every detail and gave us a new kitchen that exceeded our dreams and expectations. We knew we needed a designer that we would feel comfortable working with. Our designer, Laura Scott, listened to us and completely understood our vision. She used her design know-how and considerable talent to pull together a kitchen that is not only beautiful, but incredibly efficient as well. There is nothing better than function meeting form and she definitely achieved that for us. She was attentive to our project throughout the process, checking to make sure all was going well. She went with me to the slab yard and patiently viewed all the countertop options to narrow down the selection. I really appreciated her helpful suggestions and support during the selection process. Picking out the color palette and the various materials for the kitchen was a breeze with her guidance. Looking at the result, we would not change a thing. We were impressed with the S&W planning process where no detail was overlooked. A great deal of attention was given to planning, which we believe is a large part of the success of the project. S&W provided us with full documentation, including all of our decisions, plans and diagrams for the crew, and the sequence of events that would take place over the course of the project. The project stayed on track with only minor delays, resulting in a fully functioning kitchen by the promised end date. Our project manager, Dale Thomas, is highly skilled at managing a project. Not only did he keep the project moving, he used exemplary problem solving skills to resolve issues that came up along the way. He elicited excellence from his crew, trade contractors and vendors. Observing him in action, we came to trust that we were in good hands with Dale and crew. Friends had warned us that a kitchen redo of this magnitude would be a horrible experience. But S&W made it as painless as possible. Before tearing down the kitchen, they moved our refrigerator to the dining room so that we could set up a temporary kitchen to use during construction. They were thoughtful of our comfort throughout the process, keeping disruption to a minimum. The crew was friendly and considerate. They cleaned up at each step of the process and hauled away multiple trailers full of debris. They hooked up our washer and dryer early on to allow us to do laundry at home as soon as possible. Long story short, the experience was far less disruptive than we expected. In a word, S&W stands for excellence. We are glad we went with them and would definitely use S&W again in the future.

I have had three remodeling jobs done by Bill and Tom of S & W Kitchens in Longwood, Florida. One bathroom and my kitchen were totally removed and rebuilt. The other bathroom was basically refreshed with old wallpaper removed new flooring, bathroom hardware, vanity, mirror and fresh paint. Bill provided the decorating expertise while Tim supplied the project planning, supervision and selection of fantastic craftsman. My kitchen had some layout issues that compromised its utility. These utility issues were completely resolved and I was left with a much more useable space. All three spaces always receive compliments from my guests. I recommend the pair to anyone considering remodeling.

The project went great. We separated each project so it took about a year. That was our doing. We first started with the Master Batch. It took 12 weeks, but it was a full gut job and replace. They even had to run a new line from the breaker box. Next was the second bath. This took 8 weeks. Another full gut and replace. All work was completed on time and with a minimal punch list just like the master bath. The last was refacing the kitchen along with new counter tops and paint. This took 4 weeks. We never thought that refacing would look so good. A note about Sarah. She is awesome to work with. She not only listened to what we had to say, but also took note of what I liked and came up with a design that incorporated it. She is always there when we had questions and answered them promptly. If you are thinking about remodeling this is the company to use. They are not the cheapest, but they do great work and always listens to you.

I bought a house on bayshore 2 years ago and decided to totally remodel the whole kitchen. After interviewing a few designers, we settled on S&W. This is a totally honest review and anyone is welcome to come see our amazing kitchen. The design of the kitchen was amazing. Wolf and Subzero appliances, great layout, beautiful counters, cabinets and flooring. It's been a year and we are still amazed at how well it came out. Larissa was our designer in the Tampa office and she is totally gifted. Our foreman was John and he kept us up to date through out the project. The subcontractors were pros as well. The price was agreed upon upfront and that didn't change even though there were some changes along the way.
Description of Work: Remodel kitchen and bathroom.
