It went just horribly. In my opinion, things could not have been much worse. It appears that RECROMAX does not have quality personnel in all trade areas. Almost every part of my restoration was a problem and much of it remains undone or is in need of repair after 5 months. My restoration, at most, with quality personnel would, could, should have been completed in less than 15 work days. The Project Manager (PM) did not purchase the correct materials and/or in sufficient supply. Three different sets of doors, 4.5 inch insulation for 2 by 6 walls, no joint compound when the drywall finishers arrived are examples. He did not schedule, workers and materials to be on the job at the same time. It appeared that he did not schedule workers to work more than they wanted to do on their schedule. There is little on site supervision of the trades working for Recromax. To the best of my knowledge, this company does not have regular employees who are tradesmen. They have subcontractors (not licensed as I know of, because none of the "trades" produced a license or business card for me) who come to work when it is convenient for them, they do their work, take pictures send them to Recromax and get paid if it is a good picture. After the first go round of problems with drywall, insulation, door install and base and crown molding; Recromax begged us to let them have a second chance. I regret that the second chance was given. The PM's lack of the supervision and construction knowledge was the main problem for my restoration. Flooring was installed in June and no one has come back to fix the problems. The picture of the mantel along with the fact that the flooring is not properly installed and the moldings are not in place demonstrates the ongoing problems. In August, while we were gone, someone came to install the siding on our house. They gained entry to our porch by cutting the screen and dislodging another door from the frame. When we asked, "How did they get in?" PM replied, "They manipulated the screen on one of the doors. He conveniently left out the word "cut" or 'damaged". Things happen, but you fix them right away. They are not left to some other convenient time for someone else to fix. Some siding has no nails, while the other siding is not installed to code with the proper nails. The pictures taken by the installer of the siding were taken before gravity took over and is not an honest representation to what is. My pictures show where the siding has fallen off. In addition, there was extreme pressure put upon me to choose materials for less than the insurance company settled for. The estimators for the company denied they knew how to figure material allowances. In all fairness, we did take scheduled vacations. However, there were plenty of days when we were available and work could be done. PM never had a schedule for the day we returned or for the 5, 8, 10 of 15 days in between. PM stated he had to wait until Monday to know what the schedule was for the week. And only after the Monday morning meeting would he be able to tell us anything. With drywall fixes, painting, flooring issues, siding issues, damaged fireplace mantel, texture missing on the ceiling, porch floor , screens and doors damaged, materials removed form the work site as outstanding issues, the insurance told me that they would not have Recromax come back to my house on August 27, 2018. This is a mess. Higher them and you may never see a qualified tradesman. I would not hire them for anything. The person holding the license is not available. The COO is not readily available. At one point, the PM said we would not be able to meet with the COO. No one ever offered the name of the principal on the license CGC 1521076.

I had a leak in a pipe in my home that caused damage in my master bedroom closet. The carpet was ruined and water had soaked the drywall up about 2 feet. I called Andrew David at Recromax and they came out within a few hours to access the damage and provide me an estimate. They explained to me what they thought I needed and did not try to pad the estimate with unnecessary repairs. They had the drying equipment and the dehumidifiers with them on their truck and placed them right away. They told me it would take about 3 days to make sure everything was dry. When they returned to pick up the equipment, they checked the walls with a moisture meter to make sure. That same day, my outside wall was patched. He matched the stucco up so well that one could not tell there was ever a hole there. Another worker replaced the carpet and everything was back to normal. Being in Florida, leaks can be a major problem if not treated properly. ie..mold, etc. It is nice to know that if it ever happens again, I can call Recromax and they will take care of it. I would highly recommend Recromax for any type of remediation. In fact, after talking to Andrew, I will be contacting them to do some remodeling projects as well. They are clean, professional and fair in their pricing.
Description of Work: Repaired outside stucco wall, dried out damaged area inside, replaced carpeting
