I went into PBT at around 2 pm on 1/15/14 with a problem
with my service engine light going on. I was told, by Mike Dunman, the service
manager, that they would run diagnostics on it and let me know what was
wrong. Before he could do that he asked
me to sign a paper saying if they did the diagnostics, and I had no work done,
I would owe $75 for the labor. If I had
work done, the money would be deducted from the bill. Dave, a service man, ran the diagnostics and
thought it might need a new sensor. He also said I might need another sensor
and the bill for both parts and labor would be around $500. He gave me a
breakdown and I said I would do one part, but not the other. Upon further inspection, he determined I had
put the wrong coolant in my car and it would need to be flushed.
Dave said that would have to be done first and they did not
have time to do both jobs and he could get to it the next day. He said the flush would be $70 for labor and
the coolant he would charge me his cost of around $7.50/gallon.
When I returned to pick up my car, the bill was
$170.71. They had not credited me with
the diagnostic as promised and said they would credit it when I had more
work done. This is not what I was told by Mike Dunman.
I discussed it with them and they did not take the
diagnostic fee off even though I had them do work. When I arrived home I called to ask for the
owners name so I could write a letter and they would only give me a first name. Someone came on the line and said he was the
owner. He said since I did not have the
specific work done that they suggested, I was charged the diagnostic fee. It
was my understanding from Dave, that the technicians that do the diagnostics
(they are paid separately) were not there so he did it himself. So no fee was going to be paid separately.
The owner argued with me, never did give me his last name
and I told him I would never be returning. This is not how you treat customers. He was loud and rude.
I had already paied the bill. There was no need to treat me like that. I would not only never recommend them, I will make sure I let all of my friends know not to use them.

Rotars were warped and had to be replaced. Don't know enough about brakes, but sounded really strange.

They were absolutely excellent. I used them three weeks ago. I like the service, price and the people are so nice. I have been using them for thirteen years. They will call you. Usually I wait there for whatever I have to have done. They are very fast.

The service is good. Their price is right. It is a family-owned business. They bend over backwards. They keep their customers happy. The price was the best. The quality was great. They have been here for a while. They are not like the ones who have set up the business and disappear.

I was given the cost estimate and the final total was the same as the estimate. The manager supplied me with a computerized diagram showing the levels of imbalance prior to the service and the result of the balancing. He also recommended the purchase of a camber bolt and explained why a camber bolt would be needed by the next alignment and balancing. The manager went out of his way to explain the balancing process. I will use them again in the future and will definately recommend them to my family and friends. A very positive experience.
