John responded promptly to email and phone messages, picked up the machines, diagnosed the problems, devised inexpensive solutions where available. Added antivirus software to avoid future issues, advised against expensive repairs in the older machine. He restored both machines to excellent performance, explained manufacurer issues (I missed out on an hp class action suit due to waiting too long) and was cheerful. prompt and professional throughout. I will use his services again, and consult with him prior to my next purchase.

I called John one day when our 18 month old HP laptop suddenly died.  He diagnosed it over the phone as a common problem this model of HP's have been experiencing, which is a fried motherboard.  Needless to say,  I wasn't happy that this happened on a laptop only 1 1/2 years old, and subsequent research on the internet confirmed his theory.  Anyway, I agreed to have him repair it, and John showed up at my home to pick up the laptop.  He had to order a new motherboard, which took approximately a week or so, and then he returned it in working order.  The only thing I noticed after getting it back is that it would no longer power off when you pressed the power off button.  After calling John back, he thought he might have gotten a bad motherboard, so he agreed to pick it up again and get another motherboard. John kept our laptop until he made sure it was working correctly, although it was tough since our total time without our laptop was a few weeks.  He was always courteous, and his diligence in getting our laptop back in working order is to be admired.  On top of that, I believe he had to eat the cost of the replacement motherboard, since he did not charge us more than his original estimate.  Because of his diligence and because he stood by his work to make sure it was working properly before getting it back to us the second time, I can highly recommend him and will be using him for any future computer problems.

I called around, and got estimates in the hundreds of dollars, using Angie's and yellow pages. Jon is a one man operation out of his house, but he picks up and drops off. I was only in Florida for 5 days, there was time pressure. John could not get out to pick it up, so he gave me his address to drop it off. He had it almost completed by the next day, and thought that we had internet access to complete the updates. But mom has phone internet only. So John had to continue for a while longer. He dropped it off th next day. Worked with mom a bit, and was really good with her. For some reason - the CD/DVD player did not work. I called John and he loaded the generic software for it and all was well. (I am certain that without time pressure John would have caught that as well.) He made recommendations regarding local ISPs, etc, something that I consider important.. John was pleasant, knowledgeable and I think mom will feel comfortable with him when she gets over her fear of computers. And I feel very comfortable with him as well.
