My husband called Bruce and asked for him to give us a bid on some interior painting we needed done. He arrived on time and took a lot of notes. He went out to his truck and about 10 minutes later came back into the house and gave us his bid. Bruce was the 4th painting contractor who gave us bids. Two of the other bidders bid much higher than Bruce. We had written out a list of the items and rooms we needed to be painted. We were very detailed about the job because we had a set budget. One paint contractor we found on Angie's list was very professional; however, he kept adding things to the project. We needed our rooms and doors painted, but he wanted to make changes to the room and doors, in addition to painting them. He was also a general contractor so he was focused more on remodeling than painting. (Our house was built in 1953. We would have loved to do a remodel, but that was not possible at this time.) Because he kept addicting things to the job, his bid was $2500. The other high bidder used our specific list and bid $1,200. The third bidder gave us a price of $930.00. Even though Bruce was a little higher than the low bidder, he was very nice and walked through each item on our list to make sure he had a clear understanding of our project. Bruce was on time every time he came to the house. He and his assistant, Clay, cleaned up everyday. Bruce and Clay were both very respectful and very hard workers. We had some shelves in our small pantry that had some stains due to wear and tear for many years. Bruce made sure the stains were removed. When we had our walk through after he was through, Bruce told us there may be something we didn't see for now, but sometimes after two or three days we might see something we wanted corrected. He said he would come back and address anything we felt needed a touch up or a re-do. It has been about 5 days and my husband and I have tried to look at everything that was painted to see if we needed Bruce to come back. We haven't found any issues or mistakes. The finished project turned out great. Bruce and Clay are both very good painters. We will definitely call them for our next project.
