Came on time for estimate. Showed good example of tile and we agreed to have it installed. Discussed foundation cracks(newly laid foundation) and solution prior to tile installation to ensure tile would not crack if cracks persisted. Showed up late to begin work. Used duck tape for cracks as opposed to original materials discussed - claimed it was just as good...but why was this not the first option? Due to errors on the part of the tile company people and the M&K installers not checking tile lot numbers on boxes - two different lots were laid and thus there were differences in the tile sheen. Could not see difference when grout was on tile from installation. After cleaning the next day, the difference showed. When we called M&K, Kevin told me I did not know what I was talking about. Took a week before someone came to look. The installer agreed the tile was not correct. Kevin was rude on the phone and still insisted I was clueless. FINALLY after 3 weeks he agreed he would try to have his tile supplier find matching tile so all tile was the same. After TWO months of phone calls every other week, tracking Kevin down because he NEVER followed through when he said he would get back to us, Kevin said they had not found the tile but thought I should call his supplier. I called and they found the tile that same day. It makes you wonder how hard he was trying. Two weeks later the bad tiles were replaced with the new correct ones. Good job but the installers left before doing on last tile. I had asked them to look at it but they forgot and left without letting us know they were done. The tile needed to be replaced. Called Kevin and he insisted again that they did all they were supposed to but that, eventhough he had no obligation, he would do the one tile when he got a chance. It is now more than three months and it is not done nor do we expect that he will come to complete the work. Bottom line - once M&K has your check - forget about communication and accountability.
