We had a oder of Eight Closets unites with glass doors Picked and Delivered from Ikea , It was a huge order 68 doors, frames, baskets,shelves, ect. Costing $229 for picking and delivery of items, $3000.00 for the entire order...we felt since it was such a big order we may not be able to pick it ourself. Ikea offers a Picking and Delivery Service, we had the store do it for the above amount, Ikea is located in Mimi about 1 1/2 hours from our home in palm cost. Door to door its a full tank of gas, and 3 hours of just drive time...and of course dealing with the store it self. You can count on a four hour day door to door, being human there is No Way you can assemble such a large order in the time allowed by the store for there store policy of 48 hours from the time of delivery to report a discrepancies to Ikea. Ikea has NO lead way for there own mistakes, we were delivered the wrong size frame for one of the doors.An $80.00 Item, that I was more than happy to pay for....apon calling Ikea with hopes that they had good costumer service, they would want to keep me from doing this...they would place the right size door on a truck that would be in our area anyway ....It was like taking to a brick wall ! I learned fast you had better enjoying staying on hold for at least an hour! only to be told as if they are reading it out of a little red book...if you do not call us in 48 hours its up to you to bring it back no matter how far you live,Never was it said it was them that picked the wrong item just that there was no other way they had to handle it...I asked to talk to the next person above and was placed on hold for the second time....20 minutes latter, than the phone went silent...Im sure they hope you think you have drop the call...but I hung on. A voice did appear on the line, only to give me the company spell yet again...and again..and again....The powers that be do Not give there Store Managers any Lead way of resolving a simple thing that was Not our mistake. It is impossible for an regular person to assemble a big order in 48 hours! I will have to make the day trip..and the tank of gas again. Lets not forget that tank of gas is $70.00!

The kitchen experience was good. It is a little bit of hassle for somebody, who has never done it before. I would recommend go for it. They prices are excellent. My kitchen looks beautiful, I am very happy with it. I had some stuff after the work, I returned that to Ikea without any problem, but my advice would be that be on top of it and be aware of what your next step is and start getting your appointments with people set up ahead of time.
Description of Work: I purchased whole of kitchen cabinets, three sofas, kitchen cabinet lighting, and all kinds of stuff from Ikea.

TERRIBLE. See above.
Description of Work: I ordered a piece of furniture through the IKEA website. Despite the fact that this store is, at most, an hour a way, and this is a standard item, I was charge $100 shipping for a $260 piece of furniture. I ordered it on 11/27/12. Estimated delivery was 12/9/12. On 12/10/12, not only had I not received the furniture, no one had even contacted me. I called them and was told that the earliest I could get delivery was 12/14/12. Unfortunately, I have to fly out of town for medical treatment and won't return until 12/21/12. Therefore, I won't have it for Christmas and I asked them to cancel the order. They agreed to cancel the order, but the $100 shipping is non-refundable. The representative argued with me and started quoting me their "terms and conditions" which provide that this is an estimate only and they can ship whenever they want to and hold me to it. I told them this was poor customer service. With Amazon, if they miss the shipping date, I have the right to cancel the order, no questions, no charges. She told me this is because Amazon guarantees their shipping dates (which they don't) and IKEA doesn't. Beware of this company, they market super reasonable prices but nail you with "added" charges.

The long walk through the store is annoying like a a rat race where the cheese is unbuilt poorly mad furniture. Some of the pieces were okay and visually pleasing but it really is disposable furniture.

It was a complete nightmare experience. The store directs you through every single item in the store. All we wanted was to go see were the desks not kitchens, not bathrooms, not kids rooms JUST DESKS! Why is that too much to ask? There's also a restaurant in the store for some strange reason, and yes, the store forces you to go by the restaurant to get out. You can't go see one thing and get out. In fact, my husband and I referred to leaving the store as "escape" instead of egress because the exit was so badly marked (not at all in most areas) and obscured by floor the ceiling shelves full of stuff. I can't believe the fire marshall hasn't called them out for this. It's a huge safety risk if a fire or some other problem should arise. They make you walk through two floors of junk to get out after you've seen what you want to see. The parking garage has traffic directors because of its very poor design and too-small size. I will never go back to that store ever again. To top it off, we tried to order our desks online, only to have the website tell us items in our cart were out of stock but didn't tell us WHICH items were out of stock! After we figured out which of the 10 items in the cart were out of stock, the website told us it would be A MONTH to deliver it to our house with no option for expedited shipping. Complete nightmare experience. Do NOT go to this store, ever. In fact, we will never be using Ikea for any of our future purchases.

Unfortunately, I never even got to speak with a store representative. All the representatives were helping other customers. I tried to wait to speak with a representative, but had no luck. There was no queue or way to be put on a list to wait for a representative. Out of frustration I left the store (which was no easy task as you know if you've ever been to an Ikea store). I contacted the company via e-mail. Ikea headquarters was very responsive and sent a reply e-mail very promptly telling me they had notified the Sunrise location of the matter. The Sunrise location never contacted me. It is obvious with all the customers shopping at the store that day that they are not concerned with individual customers such as myself. As a result, I'll take my business elsewhere.
Description of Work: I went to the Sunrise Ikea store to get information and help with kitchen remodeling.
