I initially took my auto into the dealership. I paid $100 for them to give me an estimate and they gave me one which was so expensive that I couldn't afford it. I drove my car home and didn't drive it for months. I took it back and asked them to repair a part of it because I can't drive my car without air conditioning. I assume that they would honor the original estimate but they told me they don't have that estimate on file anymore and they wouldn't do it for that price. They wanted to charge me a lot more. I wasn't able to drive my car for six months. I've heard of Davie Garage and I took my car there. Not only did they fix the air conditioning for a lot less money but the gentleman, Robert, was so nice. He found some other things that were wrong with my vehicle that needed to be fixed. In fact, he found out that the tread was wearing out and the tire could have gone out at any time and I didn't even have an idea about it. He showed me what was wrong and I took it to a tire shop and got it fixed. They told me it was really dangerous and I would have never known if it hadn't been for Robert. He fixed everything on my vehicle. My vehicle went from sitting in the driveway for six months to driving perfect for the last year. He was just so honest and he didn't try to pressure me into having anything done but just made recommendations. Instead of trying to take advantage of me because I'm a woman and don't know that much about vehicles, it was the opposite. He tried to explain things and tried to be extra helpful. I would definitely take my vehicle to him for mechanical issues in the future. He's one of those guys that I would recommend anybody to take their vehicle to. They were responsive. I called them a couple of times and asked questions and he would call me right back for answers. I was surprised he was able to get so much work done within a couple of days' time. Even my brothers and father who are mechanics themselves looked at his work and they also approved of the good work that he had done.

Excellent business. Very professional. Great work. They came in at hundreds of dollars less than Nissan wanted for the same service. Highly recommended. I'll be going back.

They are really honest and do only what needs to be done. They are really good and well priced.

Since the first time I dropped off my car a year or two ago, I've been very happy with Robert and his team. He explains stuff. I can have special requests. He calls with the info I need and the cars are ready as promised. He actually manages all three cars in our family now.

My son's car began to overheat easily so we took it to Davie Garage. After checking the vehicle, they called my son and told him what was needed, as well as recommending replacing belts and general servicing needed at 100K miles. They gave him an estimate, which actually turned out to be about $40 more than the final price, as one problem they thought existed turned out to be a simple fix. They were prompt, honest, and great to deal with! Recommending my husband take his car in to them for his brakes!

I like that he is very honest, trustworthy, and he takes good care with you as far as anything with cars. He tells you like if your brakes are going to come to. They are fine now and in the future needs checking again. The most important things would be the honesty, trustworthiness, and the repairs are done well. I do not question anything he suggests. I just do it. He is a little bit slow though.

I have been to Davie garage in the past with my old car, but hadn't needed to go until this week. Something went wrong with my car and thinking was a transmission, decided to take it to the dealer. What a big mistake! They diagnosed what was wrong with the car and gave me an $1800 estimate. I was completely shocked and decided that since it wasn't the transmission, I would ask Robert at the Davie garage to check it out. He did, and all the things that they wanted to do to my car or not necessary, other than the battery. Robert has always been completely honest about what needed to be done and I appreciate that. He could have told me that lots of different things were wrong, but he was truthful and did what needed to be done. I highly recommend Davie garage!

I have 4 vehicles - 2 have 150,000+ miles, a third has 65,000. Robert and Davie Garage keep me going and not needing to invest (hardly the right word) in a new car (except for my wife's). He only recommends what's necessary and never pads the job. Always gives customer the option. Only downsides are hours could be more convenient (he's only open M-F, until about 5:30 pm) and sometimes he's so busy that major work may take a few days. But it's all worth it. I always feel confident in the advice and the work.

They will never lie to you!!! I have given them carte-blanche to screw me to the wall and they've come back and said that no work needed to be done!! (my car is 13 years old!!)! There is only one way to put it - Davie Garage is the ONLY place to take your car!!

My 2007 Honda minivan had several non urgent issues. We were pleased to make and appointment with Davie Garage to have them corrected properly. The owner called us to tell us the power steering pump he installed was not working correctly and he was going to replace it with a dealer pump. The owner absorbed the cost of the more expensive pump. I offered to pay the difference or at least split the cost and he did not allow me to share the additional expense. This is the second time I have argued with an Angie's List provider because I wanted to pay more to be fair to the business. Excellent experience. Davie Garage is a first class operation.

I joined Angie's List specifically to search for a trustworthy, capable, and professional auto mechanic. Even though there were a couple of other places mentioned which were closer to my home, I decided to go with Davie Garage, in Davie, Florida. I am happy to say that I was very pleased with this recommendation. First I called to make an inquiry a few days before my visit, and the phone was answered promptly by a friendly voice. Through that phone call I learned that Davie Garage encourages appointments. I explained that I wanted an oil change, tune-up, and check on my air conditioner because the normal and maximum A/C settings were blowing the same rate. I agreed to leave my vehicle one evening after they closed and I used the key drop. The next morning around 10:30am, I received a call from their mechanic, Robert to confirm the services I wanted, and we discussed a few other quirky concerns I had about the vehicle. I received a call back about 11:45am explaining that it appeared the A/C only required some minor adjustments. Robert took the time to discuss the air conditioner issue, and unhurriedly answered all my questions. Robert also made several recommendations for my 2001 Ford Ranger, which I knew were quite overdue. I elected to follow through with a couple, and put-off a couple for another time. I received a call at 3:55pm explaining the vehicle was ready for pick-up. Overall, I felt the service was fair, and knowledgeable, and amicable. I was happy with experience and intend to return for future services.

Service went well and was completed on date as promised.

Excellent experience. Been there twice and exceptionally satisfied with the work, price, and professionalism. I trust their work, recommendations, and that I am being treated honestly and fairly (unlike virtually every other mechanic I've taken vehicles to). I go several miles out of my way and pass many other auto service stations to use the Davie Garage and will continue to do so.

This independent garage provides trust-worthy advice and repair of automobiles. Services are priced fairly and below what one would pay at a auto dealership. More important--the owner is an honest, ethical person, with whom I have total trust. The quality of their work is excellent; if something is broken, it is fixed, and the repair price is what is quoted before the work is done. This is one of Broward's best companies, and is locally owned and operated.

great experience from start to finish

This was my first visit to Davie Garage. I took my vehicle to them convinced that I needed new brakes. I also had a rubbing sound at low speed and I didn't know what was causing it. I dropped the vehicle off for it to be inspected for an estimate. When they called me latter they said it didn't need new brakes and the rubbing sound was nothing to worry about. No charge for the inspection. They test drove the vehicle, inspected all the brakes and even found a couple of items for me to keep an eye on that might need maintenance soon. I know mechanics have a wide discretion in deciding what work is needed and the fact that these guys concluded that nothing was required and did not charge me for the inspection tells me they are honest and not looking to justify work. The place was super clean and the mechanics' work areas were very organized. They also have their scheduling and customer communications well managed. There is a nice lady who works the front desk who is very responsive. As soon as my vehicle does need work it is going back here.

Job was diagnosed promptly. The tensioner on my Altima had become defective after 110 k miles and probably affected the Alternator as well. They replaced both, found that my idle problem was related to a gumming of the IAC valve, which they cleaned. They also found a bolt missing from my brake caliper, which could have caused an accident! The office staff is very professional. I will definitely use them in the future. Mr Robert Tubach was very good at explaining my vehicle's problems.

Robert took a great deal of time to answer my questions before I chose Davie Garage. Then, after his review of the vehicle, he provided an itemized breakdown of costs divided into parts and labor. I chose 5-6 and called around to compare prices. Robert's price beat all except the tires, which were cheaper at Costco -- but b/c the car was already there, I chose to go with Davie on the tires anyway. It was an extra $65, but well-spent for the convenience. It was very important to me that Robert talked me through every single item -- why the recommended repair was necessary, the risk if I chose to not repair it, and the implications delaying. I chose to do everything on the list, though there were a few I could have held for a later repair date. There was no rush on my side to get the car back, so it stayed at the garage for a week; I got the impression it could have been ready earlier, but it wasn't necessary for me, so I didn't press for a more rapid return. Upon pickup, Robert again talked me through each item. He was clearly very familiar with the work on the car, and highlighted another problem that was discovered during the oil change (I stripped the threads on the oil pan during my last oil change...cheap aluminum pan!), and described the clever repair the shop used. To his credit, Robert gave me a $100 active duty military discount. It's good to know the shop supports the military. Overall, I am very pleased with the experience and believe this to be a very reputable garage worthy of all of my future vehicle repairs.

Left the Car during off hours, Robert was honest and fixed the car on time and allowed to pick the car up over the weekend.

After receiving a quote from a local garage, I took my 2003 Mercedes to Davie's Garage to get estimates on some upcoming expensive repairs. They gave me a quote on my current repair needs. In addition (as a woman) car repairs are not my strong point, so I was given a detailed explanation of the proposed work. The costs are starting to rise on this older car and Dave gave me good advice and something to think about when it comes to high repair costs on this type of car versus when is it the time to sell the vehicle. He didn't push me into repairs and advised me to get the tires (not at his garage) which is the most important one due to safety, while I decide if I am going to keep the car or trade it in. There was no charge for the inspection and diagnostic test on the car. I will definitely go back to this garage whether it be for this car or a future purchase.

After my mechanic retired about a year ago, I was in search of a local shop I could trust. I joined Angie's List for that purpose. The reviews of the Davie Garage led me to Robert Tubach and I was sold. The shop is clean, the mechanics are well qualified, and Robert earned my trust. He treated my car like a patient at a doctor's office. After hearing my unqualified diagnosis, he examined the new patient and provided a report of what was needed. His estimates were detailed and accurate. His receipt was equally detailed and neatly written. I was pleased with the honesty and transparancy at the shop. Although the repairs totaled over $1,000, I did not feel cheated, pressured, or tricked. My car was repaired promptly and I left a satisfied customer. The Davie Garage is my new service station.
