I hired 3D Environmental and thought they were doing a good job, initially. I was told that the scope of work that was done would take 2 - 3 weeks. It ended up taking them 7 weeks to accomplish and after the initial agreed upon contract for work, they required an additional few thousand dollars for additional work they said needed to be paid for. During the project, there was work done that was done in a substandard manner and some that also needed to be redone more than three times to get it right. Their work in many aspects was done with the objective of speed in mind and NOT quality. I was also told to else them alone, and not get involved with their work and not to talk to the workers about anything. That said, the GC Dan Fiermonte might have spent less than 5% of the time actually at the job site overseeing the work being done. He relied on some of his workers to oversee all the work. Moreover, the GC did NOT return phone calls, texts or email communications for weeks at a time. When asked to include the verbal warranty / guarantee on their work in writing, the GC Dan Fiermonte did not want to put it in writing. After much discussion and confrontation, he unwillingly eventually did so.

My wife was living in a condo and there was an issue with air conditioner above the unit leaking. It ended up flooding the drywall. They came out to replace the drywall and floorboards. They were very responsive to me when I called them to come out. Alan came out to give me the estimate and I had the feeling that he was shady. He would not listen to me throughout the estimate and he tried to have a bunch of extra work done. Dan was very professional. He was very clear about the explanations of the work and the quote. The crew who came out was good about communicating with me and they were easy to understand. They came out on time to do the work and the got the job done when they said that they would. There were a couple of areas in the laundry room that they cut out, but forgot to patch. The pricing was very competitive. I had no major concerns with them.

I am very disappointed with this experience. I had high hopes after reading the glowing reviews of 3D Environmental, as I needed someone to check for mold and mildew and also to do extensive renovations at a relative's apt. 3D sounded like just what I was looking for. I called Dan and made an appointment. On the scheduled day, I drove to my relative's (and brought a companion to bounce ideas off of). We arrived early, just in case Dan came early. The appointment time came and went. No Dan. No call from Dan. I phoned him about 1/2 hour later and it turned out that he thought that he was supposed to meet me 3 hours later than our scheduled app't. [he said that he had written down the wrong time]. I was nice and said it was o.k. and that I would call and reschedule, which I did. Next appointment: I again brought my companion and drove to my relative's home, again arrived early -- and again waited. And waited. No Dan. No call from Dan. I called him. This time there was not even an excuse. No apology. No explanation at all, except that he was somewhere else. He forgot the appointment! That's it. I lost my valuable time and so did my friend, as I dragged him along so that he could hear Dan's evaluation and estimate of the work to be done and help me make important decisions. Dan may be very good at what he does, but I'll never know. And to have nothing at all to say about not calling or showing up for a second time --- well, there's just no excuse! He totally forgot. Very unprofessional.

I contacted 3-D in Nov-Dec. 2007 to determine cause of staining on bathroom ceiling. Dan Fiore scheduled appt. for late Dec., then called and said he needed to change service date to early January 2008. They arrived for service, said they cleaned the area, sprayed mold retardant, and set up large fans to remove contaminants. Dan had also recommended installation of bathroom ceiling fan - his men installed it. They repaired leaking air ducts - which, they said, were the problem: condensation building up on leaky ducts was causing the mold/staining. I called 3-D in late Jan. 2008 to say that fan was banging against joists and making a very bad racket. They came out to check and said nothing could be done. Said "ceiling fans are always noisy." Then the ceiling staining re-appeared in precisely the same places mid March. Called Dan - they came out again after a 2 week lag. Said they fixed the ducts - again. Ceiling plaster began to bubble in late May/early June - called Dan, he drove down. He then said the problem was that my attic was too hot - but he also said that this time they would use mastic to hold vents together. His guys came down, went up in attic, said they repaired problem. As the guy was coming down from attic, I asked if he had used mastic. His reply (verbatim): "No - and that's probably a good idea 'cause they are already coming undone." He was going to leave! Had I not said something, mastic again would not have been used. The problem continues - ceiling stain, plaster bubbling, mold growing. During our last call, when I asked Dan Fiore about the mold, he said it was growing, and then said it wasn't - and then said I had confused him. The bottom line is that I paid $2,000 for a problem that continues. I am also concerned that this guy advertises in Angie's List magazine.

I spoke to one of my people yesterday and they may have just finished it. It took a couple of weeks. They did most of the work, and then there was an issue about painting, whether they were going to do it or not, so they came back afterwards.

Dan gave me a detailed, correct estimate of the work to be done. I was not in town at the time the work was done. He picked up the apartment key and kept me informed by telephone of the progress of the work. He went to the tile store and chose the tile (white) and sizes needed. He even offered to make a special trip to check for damage when I was concerned about a severe storm that passed through the area. When I returned, the job was finished and the apartment was cleaned up. It was a pleasure to deal with Dan.

There was leaking around the atrium window which caused bubbling in the sheet rock. They tested the interior area and repaired any areas that needed replacing. There were several areas on the roof that the caulking was wearing out and they replaced it without even asking. They came several days after calling for an estimate and to evaluate the area. When they set a day for the work they actually showed up. They were very professional and left the area spotless. I would use them again for any home improvements. I recommend them highly.

A sprinkler head was set off by an air conditioning tech and it flooded my condo. All the walls had to come out half way up and the tile floors had to come up as well. They treaded the mold then put in new walls, tile floors, painted, added crown molding, fixed cabinets that had been damaged. Any changes or additional work I wanted done was never a problem they were happy to do it. They made my home look GREAT ! They were always professional,on time,polite and worked very neatly. I rate them a 10 in my book and would never use anyone else to do any work in my home. They are the BEST !

3D was prompt, quick, and pleasant from beginning to end. We had to email back and forth several times to get the initial proposal/contract correct, but the process was quick and friendly. The work was begun a day earlier than we expected, and took less time than we feared. The men were very careful to protect our floors, carpets, and other items as they moved their equipment in and out. They sanded, painted, and cleaned up after themselves perfectly. We are very satisfied with their work and will call them if we ever have similar problems. We sought a bid from 3D in the first place because the first mold re mediator we contacted would not replace the drywall ceiling, We much prefer the 'one-stop shopping' of working with a company that would deal with the mold and the drywall work. (They would also have replaced our leaking hot water heater, but we got a local plumber to fix that before 3D was available.)

Excellent. Extremely reliable and knowledgeable. Made an unpleasant experience not so unpleasant. Super trustworthy crew.
