They did come by and performed an estimate and they kind off closed up, the guy even called me after the estimate but when I looked on line I was like oh my God I was scared I think it was the owners or one of the partners called and I was like I thought I was going to loose my money. This guy kind off answers from time to time then again he disappears I have not yet heard from them since the last month. And I cant get the guy to call me back, I would worn people about them. They do a little bit of work and then they disappear again.

Description of Work: Provider did not act accordingly to our agreement. Signed contract 1/18/2014 to get permits and work done by the end of March2014 as we were leaving for home then.Provident consistently did not have the correct information to get permits with LBTS. Contract stated work would start 9 days after permit issued. March 3 ,2014permits picked up and company called on April 4,2014 to set up date for work to begin.we tried to cancel as we were leaving for home and did not feel comfortable having work done while we were not there. Company refused to give us ANY money back. We found out later the salesperson does not have a license and is working under someone else's license and said person has a criminal record and lots of similar complaints about not getting work done and also not completed. We don't understand how this company can have A rating with better business bureau!!!!

Thank goodness it's finally over. February 11th 2014, seven months after I engaged the services of ADE Construction for the remodel of my master bathroom. The contract sum was $9,900 (excluding permit fees, etc) and I paid them $4,950 on July 17th 2013 as 50% down payment. I did not hear from them for a month. I called on August 17th 2013 and I was told that they were still working on the plans for the required permits. According to the City records, they submitted the plans a day later on August 18th. Florida law requires that contractors taking more than a 10% deposit for a project must make an application for permit a within 30 days and they were just barely on time. I continued monitoring the plan approval and noticed that on 28th August, the city found problems with the plans and asked ADE construction for a resubmit. ADE construction did not submit new plans until 18th September, two months after I had paid them. As soon as the plans were approved on 1st October, I paid the required permit fees as instructed by ADE Construction of $597.58 to the city on 2nd October. I then called ADE Construction and agreed on a start date of October 28th at 8am, with a turn around time of 2-3 weeks. I took a few hours off work on the 28th and waited. The workman did not show up till well after 12pm. In the course of demolishing the bathroom, he did not turn off the mains water supply and caused a flood. The ceilings on the ground floor (the master bathroom is on the second floor) were damaged from the flood. After the initial 3 weeks, during which the workers only showed up a hand full of times, I could not guarantee that there would be someone in the house from 8am when they were supposed to start work (but never did), so I asked that the project manager kindly reschedule so that his men come from 12 noon. He refused and work on my bathroom slowed to almost nothing. In November, I paid a further $3500 to ADE Construction after the project manager threatened to walk off the project if I did not pay immediately after the first set of inspections were performed by the city officials. Even after paying this, there was no improvement in their attitude to the project. Every day, I had to call the project manager to find out if and when his men could show up to work on my bathroom. Frustrated, I took my case to the BBB (which for some strange reason has given them an A+ rating) and insisted on a time line and an agreed upon end-of-work date for the project. ADE Construction failed to provide a date. As time went on, it became obvious that the company was having difficulty meeting its financial obligations to the project. I had pay for fixtures that were hitherto part of the contract, just to speed things up, with the understanding that the sums spent would be deducted from what was left of the balance owed. I even had to pay for the shower enclosure. At a point, I found out that the company had added 5% of the agreed project sum to the invoice as "miscellaneous" AFTER I had signed the contract with them. Of course I protested and it was taken off. I hate to think of the number of people who would have paid this ridiculous extra charge by not thoroughly examining their invoice. Anyway, like I said, its now over, thankfully. The quality of work does not reflect the amount of money I spent (for instance, I can already see problems with the grouting), but I am just glad to be rid of them. It may sound silly, but I will now take my time to bring my newly remodeled bathroom to par! If you think these are the ramblings of just one hard-to-please customer, have a look at the complaints against them in the past year alone, on the BBB website.

This project started as Exantus Construction and about 2/3rds through ADE Construction was performing the work. The contractors were the same. This started with several lies by the Salesman promising things to get the deal. Most were never completed. We talked about a full back splash, custom cabinets providing additional space/storage, lights under the cabinets, installation of a water filtration system under the sink, and sealant for the tile flooring. None of these items were completed. This project started with a kitchen demolition on June 10, 2013. It was not semi completed until mid November 2013. The work was for a small condo. The workers were never on time, complained about everything, used my tools, made a huge mess, and were very unprofessional. They created a 6 month dust bowl in my condo. I am still cleaning up from the mess. This was the worst construction experience I have every had.

ADE Construction (Ft. Lauderdale) failed to live up to its obligations under our signed contract, even though it was quick to take our money. The problems we have experienced are very similar to those of the two other parties who have recently filed complaints against ADE with the Better Business Bureau of South Florida: 1. Failure to work in a timely manner. 2. Refusal to adhere to deadlines specified in contract. 3. Failure to provide a work plan and schedule of activities. 4. Failure to provide workers in a logically consistent manner. 5. Failure to communicate with us. 6. Abrupt and complete termination of work and cancellation of contract before the first of our two projects was completed. 7. Shoddy work in some instances. 8. Refusal to return monies paid for work never completed. 9. Misrepresentation. On September 22, 2013, we signed a contract with ADE for the total remodeling of the two bathrooms in our home. We were very clear and emphatic about the timing and deadlines for the two projects. ADE told us that the first project would take 10 days and the second would require four weeks. Our contract contains specific dates for the completion of ADE's work. The first and smaller project, the 6’x10’ guest bathroom, valued by ADE at $7100.00, was to be completed by November 22, 2013, in time for our Thanksgiving company's arrival from Boston. The second project, the master bath remodeling, valued by ADE at $11,000.00, was to be completed by December 23, 2013, in time for our Christmas company's arrival from Atlanta. We hired ADE because it promised to meet our deadlines and because it claimed to be on Angie’s List. However, ADE did not tell us that it is a different company called ADE Construction (Miami Lakes) that is a paying member of Angie’s List. This was only the first of many misrepresentations. Pursuant to our contract, we paid ADE a down payment of $9050.00 on September 22, 2013 and a progress payment of $2262.00 on November 20, 2013. As we gave that second check to the project manager, he promised that he was putting all hands on deck to complete the guest bathroom remodeling in time for the arrival of our Thanksgiving company. He did not do so. The job was not completed on time. On December 18, 2013, the project manager demanded an additional $3500.00 in recognition of ADE's completion of the guest bathroom project. This was particularly galling as that project would obviously require several more days of coordinated work by the tile man, the plumber, the electrician, the carpenters and a general laborer. We refused to write another check to ADE when we had already paid $11,312.00 and ADE had not even completed the $7100.00 project. The project manager abruptly pulled all employees off the job. They simply packed up their tools and left, leaving us high and dry. ADE had not even finished the first and smaller project, which was almost one month behind schedule. Nor had it even begun the second project, which was to be completed just five days hence. As for neatness and quality of workmanship, we also give ADE some failing grades. For starters, ADE had to file twice for the building permits because it used the wrong forms on the first application. This contributed to lost time and raises questions about the competency of ADE's staff. Second, despite ADE's assurances that its workers would go to great lengths to prevent unnecessary inconvenience and messes, we ourselves had to clean up considerable dust, film and glass after the demolition of the guest bathroom because the workman neither sealed off the work area as he was supposed to nor swept up all of the shower door that he broke in our driveway. Even though ADE promised us that someone would come out to take care of that man’s mess, no one ever did so. Subsequently, one of the three different tile men sent out by ADE washed his equipment on the sidewalk leading to our front door and left a mess that has stained our pavers. Finally, the day that the project manager abruptly pulled all workers off our project, they left without cleaning up the mess they had made near our pool. These acts are completely unprofessional and unacceptable. ADE's failure to meet the contract deadlines has caused us great stress, disappointment and inconvenience. After several weeks of never knowing whether someone would show up to work or which task would be completed at what time, we began phoning ADE’s office each morning to find out what was scheduled for the day. We also asked the project manager to provide us with a punch list of tasks and a schedule for completing the guest bathroom project. He refused to do so, saying, “We do not keep records.” ADE’s failure to meet its contractual obligations has also caused us unexpected expenses. Because we had no guest bathroom due to ADE's failure to begin and continue work in a timely manner, we were forced to put our Thanksgiving company up in a hotel. (Our seven Thanksgiving dinner guests were also forced to walk through our bedroom to use the master bathroom since there was no guest bathroom facility.) And because we still had no guest bathroom by late December, our Christmas company left town after one night in a hotel rather than staying for one week as planned. Our holidays were thrown into turmoil due to ADE's failure to perform under the contract. Finally, we have had to hire and pay a new contractor to complete ADE's unfinished work on the guest bathroom. We have paid ADE $11,312.00 and ADE has not even completed the $7100.00 guest bathroom project. We have requested a refund of our overpayment but ADE has refused. ADE has offered to return to finish the first project, but only if we first pay an additional $3500.00, an amount not even required by our contract. We have no reason to believe that ADE would perform in a timely or appropriate manner. ADE has already ruined our Thanksgiving and Christmas. After all we have been through with these thoroughly incompetent people, we are reluctant to begin the New Year with the constant stress and strain of trying to get them to perform their work under the contract. There are many other aspects of ADE's behavior that we found objectionable or in conflict with our written contract. In the interest of brevity, however, suffice it to say that we have not received services that add up to the monies we have paid and thus we want a partial refund, which ADE has refused.

It started out that the sales person, who is also a co-owner lied to me. We gave him a check and asked him to hold it for a day so that we could transfer some funds into the account. He left the house and went directly to the bank where the check bounced. He then called me very upset that the check had bounced. I told him that I wanted the $35.00 back charge and an apology. It is now 4 months later and I have gotten neither. Work finally did begin after two months after repeated calls to the office. Communication has been all one sided. I have to call or text every morning to see if someone is going to show up. Workman have all been very unhappy with the conditions they have to work for in the company. They complain about each others work having to fix what others before them have completed. They came unprepared and often used my tools. I had to clean up after each day they came. It is now 41/2 months later and my two bathrooms are not complete. I was told by the sales person that the job was only going to take 4 weeks. Again, it is now 41/2 months. I could go on and on but I think you get the picture. Stay away from this company. UPDATE: This is an update from my comments on November 25, 2013. The project finally ended on January 15, 2014. Thank God it is finally over. The contract to remodel two bathrooms began with the co-owner, John lying to me. I gave him a check and asked him to hold it for a day until I was able to transfer some funds into that account. He said no problem. Well, he left my house went to the bank cashed the check and it bounced. He called the next morning very upset that the check had bounced. I told him I wanted the $35.00 fee and an apology. He once again said no problem. Now that the project is finally over neither happened. The project, I was told, would be completed in 6 to 8 weeks, well it took 6 months. After giving them a poor rating they wanted to give me $250.00, which I refused, to remove the rating. I did remove the rating because they threatened to stop all work. I wonder what they will try now with this new rating? The workers, when and if they showed up, were incompetent. I have never seen a company with so much staff turnover. They would come unprepared having to use many of my tools. They were sloppy and never cleaned up. The vanities, granite, tile, etc. are of very low quality. Please stay as far away from this company as possible.
