The company responded immediately to a request for an estimate for some mildew/moisture/mold clean-up work and did not try to over-charge or dramatize the work that needed to be done. First, they did not charge me for an estimate like another company where I had to pay $150 for nothing. As a woman trying to get estimates, I found that some contractors totally tried to take advantage and rip me off and quoted double the price that Mike did. He offered a fair price for the work that was to be done and I did not have to negotiate the way that other companies totally over quote. He is also quick to respond to phone calls and emails and is very good at providing quick written report/documentation for work. The company also accepts cash or PayPal payment. I would absolutely use them again and also recommend him to family and friends.

+ 1 moreWow... great company to hire. Mike, Adam, Heidi and Bob all were total professionals! Mike came the same day I called and looked over the project and set up a structural engineer to come to my home. He gave me an estimate the same day and the work was set to start within the week. Crew arrived on time (ok, early by a few minutes) and were effecient and got right into the job. They did all required work and left my home clean on both days when they left.
Description of Work: Mold remediation in kitchen ceiling from storm water that followed a vent stack, repaired drywall from water damagein both kitchen and bedroom and rebuilt roof trusses damaged in Super Storm Sandy when a tree fell on house. Set-up structural engineer for truss repair. Engineer arrived in 2 days, figured the job and had all paperwork sent to me and copied to Mike (Instructions/materials list for truss repair).

+ -1 moreMy phone call was returned the same day and a time was scheduled. He showed up a half-hour early because he wanted it to be light out when he planted the tree. Basically, he did whatever I asked him to, and we discussed him coming back for additional services.
Description of Work: Installed bird feetder, put together bird bath, planted tree, hung fireplaces, hung photos, set up fire-pit and positioned it in backyard and probably a few other things I don't remember.

Description of Work: No service was performed. The service was purchased to remove and install shutters. This company came to the house not prepared. He did not have the equipment to install nor remove shutters. He asked my husband for a ladder and a drill bit. He said that the coupon brought would not have covered the amount of time needed to install shutters. If he was prepared to do the job, I would have paid the additional cost to have it done. I was so disppointed with this company...and he had the nerve to tell me what other services that he performs. Don't think so!

He went through all of the items on my "To Do" list, and even told me the ones I wouldn't really need help with (and explained what I needed to do). I booked the appointment directly after his estimate and bought the Angie's List deal for the 1 day service. The one hiccup in the service was his arrival time. We had initially decided on start time of 8:30am, when no one had shown up and I hadn't received a phone call by around 9:15am I gave Mike a call who explained that he was helping to set up another job and would be over around 10am. Thankfully I have a job that allows me the flexibility to work from home. Once Mike arrived he got to work on all of the items we had spoken about. He started with the leek and was able to do the other smaller things in between the coats of the ceiling repair drying. I was extremely happy with all of the work that Mike did, as well as his overall demeanor. He was super friendly and didn't talk down to me when he was explaining what he would be doing. I will definitely hire him again!
Description of Work: Repaired a leek in my roof (specifically in the roof-boot), remove ceiling and insulation that had been affected by the leak, reinstalled dry-wall. Various house-hold tasks: - Hung stain glass window - Fixed linen closet door frame - Patched a whole in bathroom ceiling - Patched popped nails in ceiling - Adjusted shower door that was sticking

The overall job went well. He did a great job of bidding and making us understand the process of mold remediation. He was on time all three days.
Description of Work: Mike removed areas of drywall in family room and basement. He contained areas with plastic and applied Cryocide and Permaguard to prevent future mold growth. He hauled away all saturated sheetrock and thoroughly cleaned up. His two employees, Heidi and Bob were great,too.

Description of Work: Mike tested for mold and found it in one bedroom. He removed the effected Sheetrock from the ceiling, removed the insulation. They washed down all the mold area and replaced all the insulation, ceiling, and painted the entire room.

+ 1 moreNothing was really accomplished when Mr. Liebman went to the house. I told him advance that he would need the "mud" and tape for the piece of drywall and I needed him to check the folding doors so they would not come off track when opening and closing the two closet doors. He didn't even measure the doors while there but said they needed to be replaced. So he couldn't even tell me the width of the doors. He asked me to order the doors from Home Depot but didn't even know the size. The tenant also said when he came by this morning that he asked her if she could go pick the doors up. So the bottom line is that nothing was accomplished and although I bought the two hour coupon he was only on site for about one half hour.
Description of Work: I purchase a coupon for 2 hours of handy man services a couple of weeks ago for $59 for designing renovations. I spoke to Mr. Michael Liebman and advised him of what I needed done. I own a middle of group row house in Baltimore city and have a Baltimore Housing tenant in the property. I currently live in Florida; I moved down here from Maryland last Decemember. I told Mr. Liebman that I neede a couple of services done to meet the requirements of the Baltimore Housing inspector: 1. I had an exhaust fan installed in the master bath and needed him to replace the piece of dry wall that had been cut out of the ceiling. 2. I needed him to check 2 folding closet doors that the inspector said was coming off track. Mr. Liebman called me this morning to discuss the project. He said he went by the house and put the piece of dry wall into the sqaure hole in the ceiling but did not use any "mud" or dry wall tape. He wanted to know if I could get someone to buy the supplies. He also said the tow folding doors needed to be replaced and said I needed to order the two dorrs from Home Depot so he could go pick them up. I asked him about the size of the doors and he said he didn't measure them. He asked me to ask the tenant if she could measure the width. The tenant didn't have anything to measure with. This is not the type of service I was looking for. I was looking for a contractor to perform whatever function(s) I needed and to provide the materials needed and I would compensate them for materials and time. I am very disappointed in the way he does business and definitely will not contact him again. So bottom line the only service he performed was to stick the piece of dry wall into the square hole left when the other contractor installed the exhaust fan in the ceiling.

+ -1 moreMr. Leibman showed up on-time (actually 10 minutes early--which is great because I feel if you aren't early you aren't on time). We provided the shutters and necessary hardware to install the shutters. Mr. Leibman worked efficiently and professionally to install the shutters and did so in less than an hour. Since the Angie's List Deal was for 2 hours of Handyman service, we asked him to look at and fix our front door threshold, which he did. Mr. Leibman was very professional, efficient, and friendly. We not only will use him again but we will also recommned him to others!
Description of Work: I contacted Mr. Leibman regarding the Angie's List Deal with a few questions/concerns and a general inquiry to see if he would be able to install some new shutters. Mr. Leibman spent a few minutes answering my questions and scheduled an appointment to come out to perform the work--after which he reminded me to get the Angie's List deal. After scheduling, I bought the Angie's List deal, which was a steal, $59 for 2 hours of Handyman service.

He is a friendly, professional, hardworking guy. He worked quickly and made sure everything was complete and in order when he left. Took down exterior cracked vinyl, drywall repairing 2 places, fixed bifold closet door that was off track, carried glass inserts for 2 storm doors and put in doors for me (I am older and can no longer carry heavy stuff), fixed double hung windows that wouldn't stay up all the way, etc.

I emailed Designing Renovation to obtain a quote. I emailed the company. Mr. Liebman responded in 2 1/2 hours. The company offered two Deals at the time. Mr. Liebman came to my home (which was quite a distance from his base). He looked at the situation, advised me to proceed with purchasing the 2 hr AL deal( the cheaper of the two). Hetold me what he was going to do: place a metal brace to support the work and repair with concrete. He advised he would pick up the supplies and hand me the bill for reimbursement. As he was leaving my house, he noticed another area. He advised he will patch that up as well. He ended up patching a third area as well. It went as smoothly as this sounds. He and an assistant showed up. He presented me with the invoice from Home Depot. He and his assistant worked together and completed the job in exactly one hour (2 people working one hour=2 hrs). Not only did he repair the two areas mentioned earlier. He showed me a third area....a big hole on the side of the house. He patched that too. He did a great job and I wouldn't hesitate to use him again. He was professional, friendly, and worked quickly and quietly.

Mike was very responsive and gave personal service. It turned out that our mold issue is not a serious problem.

After discussing the job and agreeing to the solution, I later changed my mind and requested a change. Mike covered my request and did an excellent job - no additional cost. Bob was assigned to do the project and did a careful and complete work of the new front steps.
Description of Work: Our concrete front porch steps had pulled away and sunken into the ground. New treated wood steps were constructed over the old concete step and new plastic railings placed on each side.

He completed all of the work that I hired him for, which including going up on my roof, in under an hour. He also offered to perform several extra items of work that I hadn't even asked for. His work is above-par. I needed him to complete several items from my home inspection list for the sell of my home. I was also in a time crunch. Mike exceeded my expectations and certainly made a stressful situation much less stressful! You can tell Mike enjoys what he does; he's generous and fun to talk to as well! I'd absolutely hire him again.
