While I had my dog at the grooming dept the groomer hurt my dog. My dog suffered a cranial cruciate ligament tear. The vet at the store was too busy to see my dog even though the injury happened in the store. I have a wellness plan with Banfield and yet, I had to take the dog to an emergency vet which cost me a lot of money. The store tried to cover up the injury. I wanted to take my dog back the next day as my dog had not voided or defecated in over 12 hours. The vet again was overbooked and couldn't see the dog. Finally, they agreed to see the dig if I dropped her off. Four hours later, I got a call from the vet telling me exactly what the vet at the emergency vet had already told me. The staff were rude and never communicated to the vet. The vet didn't even know why the dog was there. The dog still hadn't voided or defecated. After doing Xrays to determine if the dog had a fracture, the vet called me and told me that I could pick up the dog. The vet didn't even know if the dog had urinated or not. So, when I went to pick up the dog two more hours later, the vet tried to get me to pay for the xray which was covered under the wellness plan. She tried to get me to pay for medications that I had already received from the emergency vet even though I had given the tech all the paperwork. The vet is too busy and the staff are overwhelmed. Also, the vet did nothing about the problem with urinating which was the reason that I brought the dog in. Luckily, 30 minutes after speaking with the vet and waiting for the staff to bring out my dog, the dog urinated. The vet tried to tell me that the injury couldn't have been caused by the groomer. My dog went to the groomer healthy, now had a cranial cruciate ligament tear and the store doesn't want to take rresponsibility.

Description of Work: My dog had a cut and groom, buffed nails and ears cleaned. I bathed her because she hates to bathe but I will have her bathed there as well the next visit. They had my dog done in about 1 1/2 hrs. Gabby had no negative effects at this visit which was a problem at other groomers.

I have been using petsmart grooming since I got my shi tzu in August 2011, I tried a home grooming operation and felt petsmart did a better job for less money. He always looks great, they are good about estimating the time and calling me when he is done

The price was between $60 and $65 for the last service. I like that they have extended hours. I can usually get my dog in within a couple of days whenever I decide to get his haircut done. I think they are expensive. They are pretty good when it comes to their punctuality. They set it up so that you drop your dog off and then pick your dog up about a couple of hours later. However, I don’t think they are flexible enough. There are some things that you may want to do when you drop your dog off. If you are working, then you have to drop your dog off before you go to work and then pick the dog up after you come home from work. They don’t really have the kind of set up and they are not good about that kind of stuff. They get crabby about it when you don’t pick your dog up when they are ready for you to pick your dog up. It’s like somehow you have done something wrong to them. It doesn’t always fit in sometimes when you are busy. They don’t tell you the exact time. You have to wait till they call you. I think they should work a little bit more with the customer while getting the dogs dropped and picked up. The other thing is that they don’t quite do their nails good enough and that would be my complaint. They always have some kind of reason for it. I don’t want my dogs to have the sharp nails where they are able to scratch anything. I pay for the service and I want it done.
