Precision Garage Door of Delaware

Service man came from Rehoboth to Camden, DE working under Precision Door Service. He was on time and did most of the work the first visit. He lubricated and adjusted chains on the door that wouldn't stay down. On a second visit he replaced the seal rubber on the bottom of two doors and the side of one and replaced a light bulb socket on one door so the light would work. He was very pleasant and informative. The work cost more than we had expected before the call ($375) but was worth having all this fixed.

He did a good job. He also discussed what to do about the main garage door, which is slightly damaged and uninsulated. He was very informative. No high pressure for a sale.

The service was fine. The only thing I didn't like about them was their office staff I didn't think was efficient at all. I was pleased with what they did and they seem to be authentic. They seem to meet their actual commitments. I think everything was fine as far as the work was concerned, I just had issues with their back office. I would consider using them.

I was not with the technician when he replaced the rollers and wires on the pulley door but when he was done the door worked like new.

They were incredible.There was a little tick in the door and he sent his supervisor the next day and they took care of it. He called me himself as well, his name is Dean Wilkinson and he addressed my concern, sent a guy out and made sure everything was perfect. They are awesome people. He was a little more money than Sears and some of the other places but worth every single penny. They are great, really good company. He uses his own men, own trucks and he trains them. It was well worth it. I got a five year warranty on their work. They sent me a confirmation of my appointment by email. They called before they got to the house so I would know they are on the way.

I was disappointed that I still had the problem, but there a gentleman working on my neighbors garage from the same company, and I asked him to come look at it and he fixed. We did not have this problem until they change the wheels. The first guy came out too early.

It was fine. I was having some problems with it and they took care of it. He was very professional, very nice, and personable. The only thing I didn’t like was we talked about some other options because he said our door opener is 15 years old and he can put new rollers for $300 now or if he can come back after a few months. The fact is, I can get a garage door opener for half that price. He did a nice job. Maybe he has a nice garage door opener but for my house, it worked really fine. He was very prompt and was here on time. It was nice dealing with a regular company instead of Home Depot or Lowe’s. It was more personalized and I did like that.

He then did a miraculously good repair job on the severely bent garage door. He also got the light working on the door opener. He said that his work was a little like being MacGuyver and I told him that he was much better than MacGuyver...

I did not know about the 5 % Discount for angieslist members. What an expensive repair. $599 for a door repair. The repair took about 35 minutes. The parts cost maybe about $125 to $150 which make the labor cost over $400. What was I thinking. Totally outrageous cost.

This morning, a spring broke on our heavy 2-car garage door. Luckily, our daughter's car was outside, so my husband drove it to work. That left me homebound. So, I checked Angie's List to see who had a highly rated garage door repair record. I selected & called Precision. Melissa was very nice and assured me that a technician would be here between 12 and 2. Later, Jim, the technician, called to tell me he would be here by 11:45, and he was. He looked at the broken spring and presented two options, repairing the spring for $325 or, given the age of the door, etc., rebuilding the mechanism. He explained the differences in the warranties, etc., not only to me, but also to my husband (who I called since the garage is his domain - lol) Once he got the okay from my husband, Jim started working and completed the rebuild in about 1.5 hours. Afterward, Jim explained that our garage door opener should be okay. Openers with plastic gears wear our due to the strain of such a heavy door, but our opener has metal gears. I cannot verify that Precision has the lowest prices, but they are available 24/7 for emergency service and they give a 10% Senior discount. I am very satisfied with their professionalism, responsiveness to my needs, and quality of work. I would recommend Precision Door Service.

Everything was fine. He did what he was suppose to do. He was a nice guy. They were prompt.

The technician did an excellent job

As mentioned above, Precision Door did an excellent job for us in repairing our garage door. There was a bit of a problem with miscommunication/misunderstanding between the repairman and myself as to what we would receive and the price contracted for this work. After the work was done, I had a discussion with the installer re: my understanding of the services to be performed and the cost for the services. Clearly there was a disconnect between us. I mentioned my displeasure to the installer and paid the amount for the work that was done. The installer mentioned our issues with the owner and the following day Dana called me to investigate the cause for my concern. I found him to be very reasonable, very understanding and expressing a very strong desire to resolve the issue to my satisfaction. After some discussion, he said he would call me back after Thanksgiving...which he did. The resolution he came up with was eminently fair and resolved any and all issues!!! Again, I found them to be an EXCELLENT company to deal with and I would highly recommend Precision Door to anyone as well as I would use them again in an instant. My underlying belief is that the true measure of a company is not how things go when all goes well but, rather, how things are handled when there are problems. Precision Door meets the highest standard when it comes to dealing with a company that wants their customers to be delighted with their service!

The good: I already had the opener I wanted and the installer said he could work with that. He did a great job with the install, especially considering he had to work around a beam that was in the way. He provided a sales pitch of other options, but was very respectful of the choice I made (which wasn't the premium selection). The bad: It was cold, which was inconvenient, but he made sure I knew how cold it was....7 times. It got to the point where he was hinting he'd rather come back the next day when it was supposed to be warmer. I couldn't take time off work again, so he stayed and did it that day. I was happy with how the work turned out, but unfortunately, the attitude left me with a bad taste in my mouth. In all, I'd go with Precision for the work again, but if I recommended them, i'd recommend asking for someone other than the installer I had, if only to not have to listen to the whining. The other disappointment: I told them when I called for an appointment that I had gotten the name from Angie's list, but I didn't get the discount when the installer wrote up the bill. I don't know if the info got lost in between the phone person and the installer, but in the end, I didn't want to have to deal with the installer any longer than I had to (didn't want to keep him standing in that cold garage, ya know), so I didn't press it when he tallied up the bill.

I usually wait a while to write my reviews. This gives me time to thoroughly inspect and test any products installed or services performed to make sure I am completely satisfied. However, some things came up which didn't allow me to write this sooner and this review is long overdue. I contacted several door companies for estimates. Most were out of business....not really sure why. This did give me pause in hiring Precision Door because I was not sure they would be around to honor any warranties or service issues in the future. My opinion changed after checking there BBB rating and viewing the website. On their website I was able to view the technician's picture, his experience, and his background check dates. This was a major plus because I could see they did not sub out their installations and took pride in their employees. Also, the owner Dean is reachable and loves to hear feedback. Speaking with the technician, Russel, was a very nice experience. I am an engineer by trade and I am very picky. I like all my wires run neatly, with 90 degree angles, to give a really clean appearance. Also everything must be straight, level, and balanced. I know I can be a pain. Russel took the time to help me spec the exact system that I wanted, taking into account all of my requirements. He was able to talk to me on a more technical lever to address any of the questions which I had. He even worked around some existing issues I was experiencing due to a sub par installation of my other garage opener done by the original builder of the house. I often look for things when choosing my vendors such as punctuality, vehicle condition/ appearance, tech appearance/ attitude, and quality of work preformed. All of those come before the price because I feel they are the most important and I don't mind paying more if I get more. Russel arrived on time both for the initial estimate and the installation. His appearance, attitude, and work performed were all indicative of a professional who takes his job seriously. The truck was clean and clearly marked. This is in stark contrast to some vendors who have shown up in unmarked vehicles and I do not know who they are. Russel took the time to go over not just the opener but the whole garage door system and gave me helpful information on maintenance and possible issues in the future. I feel I paid a very fair price for the quality of work received. I have been extremely happy with my garage service. The parts which were installed have preformed perfectly. The installation itself was exactly how I wanted it done complete with wire management and exact mounting locations and instructions. I will be calling back Precision Garage Door to install the next opener on my other door.

We moved into a new house and in the first 5 days one of the springs on the garage door broke. I called precision on ,y way home traveling for work at 5:00 on a Friday evening and was shocked when she asked f they could come tomorrow (Saturday) from 12-2. Two people came on time identified the problem, fixed it efficiently and have me advice for maintaining it going forward. One of the best service experiences from the booking call to paying the bill! I highly recommend precision to anyone needing garage services.

Fine. Dana was on time and pleasant. He's a garage door veteran so he knew what he was doing. He did need to return to make a minor adjustment and did so without any problem. I will use them to replace the actual opener when that needs to happen.

Fantastic service and value. Technician showed up on time and got right to work. Quickly replaced all rollers and lubricated all moving parts. Thoroughly explained service provided and gave advice on how to maintain door. Explained what parts may fail in the near future and gave some estimates on how much it would be to repair. Very knowledgeable and friendly. I asked about insulation. Tech gave me some different options for insulating the doors and told me how I could do it on my own. Would definitely recommend Precision Door to anyone. And the Angie's List Big Deal was an excellent value.

They were excellent. He talked about the lifespan of the garage door opener that is on its last leg because it is so old. He basically is the garage door "whisper".

Scheduling was easy and courteous. Service was prompt. Technician explained additional work which needed to be done in addition to the Angie's list coupon offer at a reasonable price.

The installer showed up on time He removed thd old door and hauled it away. He answered my questions and complied with my request. He cleaned up but left a few nuts and bolts which I cleaned up.

Scheduled for a day earlier but called to say they would be late so I rescheduled for next day as I was not available then. They were there in the allotted time as promised the next day. Very good communication so you know what is going on. Second time I used them. Will use them next time too.

He explained what the problem was and gave me several options and prices and what each solution would do to resolve my issues. I selected what I thought was the best option, and he separated the total bill to be paid in two installments, which was very helpful. The door works better than ever and is much quieter.
