I saw Dr. Banbury for a consultation on a face lift. I liked her at the first meeting. She examined and explained what she would do. We set up a date for the surgery but also an appointment in between. When I went the second time she wanted to know if I had thought about the procedure fully and did I still want to have it done. What I like is that she wasn't trying to "sell" me on this procedure or any others. She wanted what I wanted and let me know what to expect from the time I woke up in the morning, going to the hospital, what to expect in the OR and Recovery Room, letting me know that someone would be with me at all times. She also gave me a personal booklet outlining some of the feelings I may go through in the following weeks; how the swelling would go down over one week, two weeks, three weeks, and fully healed by three months, probably sooner. I would look fine in three weeks but full recovery takes a little longer. My entire experience was fantastic. Even the staff at the hospital, Christiana Care-Wilmington, was fantastic. I couldn't have asked for better. I was there for one night and I have a follow-up this week. I wanted to get everything done - in a rush - and instead of seeing an excited paying customer, she slowed me down and said we'd take each procedure one at a time and take the time to think about what I'm having done and make sure I really wanted it. All in all, I could not be happier with the experience. I cannot sing her praises enough. I will be having more procedures, slowly, when she thinks I am ready. I feel safe with her decisions.
