 + 5 moreCovill provided all the labor for the construction project and coordinated the subs for our specific needs. These included: (1) a foundation crew, (2) an electrician and (3) a tile installed. All of the subs arrived on time, were efficient and very professional. Building permits and HOA approvals took a bit longer than two weeks mostly due to new Survey requirements required by the Town of Ocean View. George handled all building permits and inspectors with the county (Sussex) and the city. Deck and Sunroom footers went in over a period of two days including inspections and approvals Framing was next and took approximately three weeks including the required inspections. During the framing period George and I met on site with the electrician to go over their work and installation of lights and fan. The new gable roof was installed over a period of about three days waiting to ensure good weather. Finishing work inside stretched over a period of about three weeks which included (10) window and (1) sliding door installation. The gable also included four custom window installations. Next they completed the tile floor in the Sunroom along with the remaining trim work and final painting. The last phase included installation of the deck floor, steps and deck railing. There were some fits and starts as is normal here on the eastern shore. But the project was completed on time and under budget.
Description of Work: George Covill and his crew built a Sunroom and Deck addition to our new home in Ocean View It was a complete turnkey job except for the survey work required by the town of Ocean View. The job was estimated to take 8-10 weeks and that is exactly how long it took to complete. The estimate was reasonable, accurate for the custom job we requested. With the exception of some changes and upgrades we made, the company stuck to that estimate and the time frame promised. We researched several companies before choosing Covill so we went into this with no unreasonable expectations. This job could have been contracted with a larger company with somewhat less customization and completed in 7-10 days. But cost estimates ranged from 35-50% higher than Covill. _____________________________ P.S. Covill Construction is a small business that does excellent work but needs a steady stream of jobs to maintain fiscal continuity. In the current economic environment this may present some problems and add time to any specific project. Considering this, our experience with Covill Construction turned out exactly as I expected upon signing a contract. They operate slow by normal standards but not by eastern shore standards. If you want a good job, these guys will deliver. If you're in a rush, you should choose another company. Do your research and choose wisely.

Description of Work: Found a major roof/deck leak and repaired. They had to replace a major part of deck and waterproof roof. They repaired, replaced and did it all with care and precision. We had this deck and roof repaired 3 times and this is the first time it was done properly. They took care details inside house to repair water damage.

 + 1 moreGeorge was always prompt and completed the work in a very timely manor. He and all of his sub-contractors were very professional. He was always very easy to reach on the phone throughout the project. Being that I live in DC, it was a bonus that he would come out on weekends to discuss the plans and progress with me. Also, he redesigned my great room with a keen eye toward detail and design that surprised me. I had old arched windows removed and installed glass doors.
Description of Work: Remodeling my great-room, screen porch and a bathroom, in my weekend residence.
