Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

They did an inspection and was able to fix it. They recommended a new water heater, which I knew I was due for. He was very helpful, informative, and a very polite.

I have to say I was a bit skeptical to use Roto Rooter. I had heard of conflicting comments and reviews online. I was dealing with some contractors regarding a blocked, possibly broken sewer line on my property and I never felt I was their priority. Tired of the lack of communication and always getting the "run around" I contacted Roto Rooter. Roto Rooter (Mike ) came early the next morning to accommodate my work schedule. After running a camera through the line, he suggested "jetting" - running a high pressure water jet to clear blockages and cut out all the roots. Arriving again early the following day, the jetting was completed in under two hours and was in the clear! No Excavating Needed! (You Rock John!) Knowing what I know now thru my experience, I only wish my first call was to them! They exceeded all my expectations. I will be using Roto Rooter going forward. Lesson learned!

The rep was prompt, thorough and courteous. He even made recommendations on how to prevent issues in the future.

The technician arrived on time--same day service--and was extremely professional and pleasant. He wore the shoe covers, taking them on and off each time he went in or out of the house to his truck. He explained everything in detail, particularly the process involved, and even went to the basement to show me the pipe in question and check for any leaks. While I was a bit surprised by the expense, I decided to have the service because I trust the technician, and I am very pleased with the result. We have not had this problem develop in 18 years, so I expect not to have to repeat it.

I noticed a mist spray coming from a pipe in my basement on a Saturday over the holiday weekend. I contacted several plumbers and this provider was the only one available. The plumber came out within a few hours of my call. He was professional, explained the problem and the fix. He also showed me some other potential problem areas that I might want to watch out for. It was not inexpensive, but given it was a Saturday on a holiday weekend, I was thankful they were available.

Check the price before they come out.

The provider did not have a long enough snake to clear the roots. He told me he didn't have a long enough one to finish the root clearing properly so, therefore, the job/warrenty was only good for one month instead of 6 months. I was still charged full price because he got the sewer flowing again. The next day I had a camera put down and it showed very heavy roots for the next few feet to the second clean out which is where he couldn't reach with the 100ft snake he had brought. Hopefully it won't back up again before I get the new pipe layed next week.

Our repairman arrived on time, and listened carefully to the problem that we were having with our in house sewage lines. Our repairman spent the time to carefully plan his approach (as access required working in a living area in our home), and while the job ended up being very difficult due to the clog location and design of our homes aged plumbing system, he carefully spent the time without getting frustrated, and completed the job promptly. He was respectful during the entire visit and clearly outlined what needed to be done, the cost, and what to expect if it did not work. We would use their services again.

I cleaned out behind the refrigerator, cleared out the under the sink work space, turned off the water and drained the water lines, removed ceiling tiles in the basement in order to make the job easier, I provided 15` of copper tubing (with fittings) and ran it up through the basement/kitchen ceiling/floor near the water supply line readied for it to be connected into the waterline, had extra towels ready (just in case they were needed) and did all this before the plumber arrived. The job took about an hour, and I feel very confident of the work that was done. Chet was very professional and I give him the Best rating for his work! Maybe I am out of touch with today's plumbing cost but I thought it was a little on the expensive side. The bill was $306.88 and thank goodness I had a $30.00 members' coupon from Angie's List which made the final bill: $276.88. Was this a good deal? I don't really know, I used them after calling several other near-by recommended plumbers, but they responded first. Because it was July 2, I was not sure if I would even get someone (being so near to the July 4th holiday) to come to my home: all the other plumbers did return my calls but it was an hour or two after I had made the appointment with Roto-Rooter Plumbing.

Tree roots got into my sewer line and caused a backup. Roto-Rooter was there within 2 hours of my call. The cleaned out the basement, hauled away the debris, made two dump runs, steam cleaned the bathroom and basement and deodorized everything. They have left fans to dry the area. The crew was courteous and professional. Will, the representative, called my insurance agent and started a claim on my homeowners insurance for me. He put me at ease. I was my birthday and Roto-Rooter was the best "gift" I could have. Thank you.

Scheduled to come between 830 and 1030, they called to say they would be here closer to 230 . When he said the garbage disposal would need to be replaced and that it would cost $600, I said no thanks. Luckily there was no charge to have him come out.

Sometimes its ok to pay more and get a seasoned professional. I had a very serous problem that could have cost many thousands to fix if not for expert workmanship. It was a close call but disaster was averted thanks to the work of both technicians at Roto-Rooter

The plumber came and snaked the sewer line and then another guy came to camera the line. Both were very good; knowledgeable and professional. Only problem was the price. Expensive!

They showed up 5 to 6 hours late to pump the tank. And then when it was discovered that the line from the house had clogged due to back up from a full tank we were charged just as though it was a separate unrelated service call. It took 10 minutes to clear it. $400 to pump the tank and another $200 to clear the line. When I later researched these prices with other companies I discovered how badly I had been fleeced. Pathetic- I would never use them again nor would I recommend them.

I scheduled the appointment online late at night and requested an appointment in the morning (Saturday). I received a call from dispatch in the morning with an adjusted time. She also asked if I wanted to provide a cell phone number and she would call when the plumber was on his way with at least 30 minutes notice. I received several calls with updates. I did appreciate the updates as it gave me an opportunity to do some errands. The assigned plumber has a vehicle problem and dispatch quickly found a replacement plumber. The plumber arrived when expected and performed the work in about 1 hour. He gave me the price before starting. I thought the price on the high side but because it was Saturday I was glad to have the work done with no hassle. The plumber cleanup after himself and showed me his work.

Woman tech very professional: cleaned out basement drain/snaked it. Also used their enzyme to clean drain. Took a little over an hour.

Called Ansonia, CT office to clear bathroom line. Explained that our septic guy came+ cleared out line but couldn't reach portion from bathroom going 12 ft out. Asked what the cost would be + was told every job was different, couldn't give an estimate but once tech came + gave estimate we were not obligated to use them, it was a free estimate. When tech arrived w/i 2 hrs, he said price was $409. I said isn't that a lot to clear 12 ft of line + was told price is always $409 per line, no matter how many ft. If I was told this over phone, I would have had the option of calling other places to see if they gave estimates over phone. Since we had people working on our kitchen cabinets, I needed a working toilet + had the line cleared. I gave a similar review to Roto Rooter in response to their request + later received a very nice phone call saying they were sorry I wasn't happy with not receiving an estimate over the phone but that is their policy + I didn't have to use them,, I could have refused the service. They apparently need to tell their techs not to give their pricing secrets away. With many other plumbing/drain companies available, I won't be using Roto Rooter again.

He checked the drain and said it would be $409 plus $59 extra for a bottle of liquid to keep drain clean. We thought the price extremely high for snaking a drain and decided not to use Rotor Rooter. Too expensive!!

Since the bathroom is an integral part of our household, when it became clogged, the whole house came to a stop. I tried to unclog the drain but to no avail. I called Roto Rooter since we have had quick responses in the past and they came within 2 hours of the original call and fixed the clog within in a few minutes. He also recommended we purchase a bottle of pipe shock treatment to use every few months to keep the clogs from forming which we did and we have had no problems since.

Tech. arrived and went straight to work , he had to chip away the blockage and put the camera down it to the drain line to inspect the pipe for any extra blockage. He let me know what would be needed to avoid this again and how to correct it.

Very good. They where able to get someone out to me within the hour. Raymond, who was the plumber who responded was great. He was able to tell me almost right off the bat what was the problem and explained to me what he was doing the whole way thru this very long service call. The clog was very stubborn but he made sure that all lines where clear and free of any debris before he left and even showed me what he was looking at on the camera so I could be sure that all was clear.

It was good. They were nice and they showed up on time. They gave me a quote and finished the work in a couple of hours. They were very efficient, professional, and answered my questions. They were a little on the expensive side.

When I called they said probably would not arrive until 2:00pm.
