The technician called me almost two days later to tell me a virus caused this to happen. I told him I wasn't sure I agreed with him since I have had the same virus protection (Norton) since 1996 on several computers and never had a virus. I told him I had received several LOW MEMORY warnings but continued to use the computer and it would no longer allow me to log in with my password. He quoted me a price and I told him I did not want any loss of programs or information because some of the things could not be replaced. I was assured nothing would change on my computer. I was called in the afternoon to pick it up and when I arrived I was told it would be another 30 minutes because Norton back up was causing the memory loss by backing up constantly. I mentioned that it wasn't that bad because the laptop is three years old and it took that long so it was not a major problem. I returned 30 minutes later, paid by check and returned home. I volunteer with our local Relay For Life and responsible for working with team captains and notifying everyone about meetings and updates. I also volunteer with a teen group, Putnam Interact Club, sponsored by Putnam Rotary Club. I had approximately 280 Relay For Life email addresses, 40 for Interact and numerous others for personal use. My email account was gone and the desktop folder for my Live Mail was empty. The folder I had with all updated contacts was also gone. I could not locate anywhere. I then found all my documents were gone. I had at least 50 forms, letters and flyers for Relay For Life and another 30 or 40 for Interact Club, a dozen for my wife (she is a teacher) and some school work for my grandson. All were gone. Checking further I found ALL my pictures were gone. I had approximately 50 folders and some contained pictures which can't be replaced as previously mentioned. I called immediately and was told to bring in it back Monday (today) and maybe these things were in another folder. I checked all that was left and nothing could be found. There was other information lost as well, a game program used by my grandson when he was here and it would not allow another account to be created. My email account was also deleted and I will have to contact ATand T to set it up again but have the problem of NO contacts. ALL the Norton information was deleted, including the logs and ALL backups. I am unable to restore because of that. I also can't check the logs to verify a virus and, if true, which one. Why was all Norton information deleted, including logs and backup? I was told the back up caused the problem and I doubt that. The logs did not cause the problem but they were also deleted. Why? I am bringing it back this morning because I am desperate but this will be the last time I use them for computer repair or updating. Not happy and find it hard to believe that I am unable to verify a virus because logs were also deleted. Why was my updated contacts folder deleted from the desktop? I don't use Yahoo mail and the contact list there is almost two years old and shows only first OR last names and is not useful to me but they did leave that intact. Additionally, my computer runs slower than it ever has and there is little remaining because of missing files so it should not be slower than ever. I know this is a lot but all the details I can think of right now. Perhaps others are happy with this company and I am sorry to say I can't share their confidence and trust.
Description of Work: I had received a low memory warning but continued to use another day then I was unable to log in. I contacted them to have more memory installed. NOTE: NOTE: after the problems below, I returned the laptop to them on 10-21-2013. They found all the missing files and installed. They did this in just a few hours and apologized profusely. Because of what happened, I would think twice before recommending but they did make good on the errors. There was one game they were not able to locate and, although a problem, it is a minor problem. I updated their standings so their grade is now higher. Still unhappy that it happened at all but satisfied with the final result and the way it was handled.

Got the computer back and they worked with me on getting signed in to the new accounts and also advised me to on how to have more "safe" browsing habits to keep this from happening again
Description of Work: I had gotten a virus that had stolen all of my personal information and sent to people across the globe!! They cleaned out the virus and reset the passwords to the sites and advised me on how to proceed. I have a yahoo email address and having them reset that and move all of my stuff into a new/more secure email address was a godsend!
