They are like an intermediate where I can get a discount. When I have to get their particular vendors to get material I have to go through them. I would rate them poorly across the board. I spent $ 50,000 on buying materials from them and I felt in that case I should have been treated better. In 2011 I decided to upgrade my house so I bought the materials from them and over that I had to pay their installers separately. I had my stairs done by them and it was outstanding. I was dealing with one of the DirectBuy employees for consultant service and I had to go through different people at the company to inquire and purchase each type of material individually. I went and ordered about hardwood floors as I needed some for the stairs as I was going to do a combination of hardwood and tiles on the staircase. They did a wonderful job but I had to order the thread for the stairs three times. I was OK with them making a mistake once but not three times as I found that ridiculous. Each time I had to place an order I had to give them a cheque for no fault of mine. The first two times she did not order enough of the thread and the third time she ordered the thread she ordered more than enough but it cost me a more of money. The people from Rainbow Co. came and gave her the right measurements but she did not know how to do it. When she did not order right the second time the guy from Rainbow was there and he questioned her. In spite of this they wanted to blame it on Rainbow CO. but could not since they gave the right measurement and the guy was there. Then I approached the manager and ordered the cabinet, the kitchen island then and there. We had one of their people come out and measure our present island so that they would get an approximate of how much bigger the new one should be. But it ended up being the same size as our present one which was ridiculous as I had to pay a couple of thousand dollars for a new island which would be the same size as I had before. It was an island which I had to put resting against a wall as the back of it was so flimsy and if I did not the whole island would collapse. A lady from the company came to inspect the island at my place and knew very well I had ordered for a free standing island and not one which had to be placed against the wall. She tried ignoring this aspect with me by just having a small talk and taking the cheque for the third order of the thread. This angered me as I had a lot of pressure to get the work done by Christmas and they were not doing their work properly. They were like seventeen different people coming to work at my place at that time. I stopped by to meet the Cabinet operations manager as I had to pay a difference on some toilets which I had purchased. I asked him if they did a survey as I wanted o blast him and he was like its kind off random. As I was leaving he asked me if I wanted to talk to the owner. I was happy at this offer as I knew how busy he could be otherwise. When I entered his room he was on the phone so I thought he might be busy and as such I could make an appointment and meet him some other time. Then all of a sudden he gets off the phone and seems exited as he thinks I have come to give him a testimonial on their wonderful services. I was like I was not there for anything like that rather I had come to complain about certain things which were going wrong. As I start to tell him what’s going on he stops me even before my second sentence and says there is nothing he can do about it. Then he sits back in his chair and I continue to ask him why those threads cost me more. He replies saying that’s because I never paid enough the first two times. I said that I paid more the third time than I did the first two times and he tries to defend himself by pulling up testimonials which other people have given about her service. When I started to talk about the cabinets he started to act crazy which confused me. He then stood up and said that the conversation was over and sent me out of his office. This was not they way I was supposed to be treated after paying $ 50,000 for their service. I was really upset and left there in a bad mood. On my way out the receptionist tried talking to me which I ignored on my way out. But I was decent enough to call her back and apologize for not speaking to her. Instead of the owner apologizing about the way he acted with me he only stated that he would talk to his staff about it and if they needed additional training he would provide them with it. When my husband call to ask him why the conversation between us did not go well and why he had not listened to what I had to replied by asking what could he do about it. To this my husband said he could start of by paying the difference which was $ 190 and he replied saying he would split it with him. I did not think this was right because after paying a total of $ 75000 they were only ready to split a difference of $ 190. When my husband called to complain about this again they sweared at him and said they do not simply give out money like that. I haven’t written a letter as yet to complain about them to the president. I am not sure if he would understand my problem but I hope he at least reads the letter when I do send it. No amount of money can fix what I suffered. It was a personal attack on me. They do not have a clue about customer service. This was my bad experience with them. I would not recommend them to others. I would not use their service again in the future.
