I have done work with dozens of contractors. Ina, the owner of Full Range Construction, is, hands down, the worst, and least professional contractor I've ever dealt with. We own a rental home that needed some repairs before being sold, and hired Full Range Construction to do the work. The owner, Ina, hired a subcontractor who unplugged the sprinkler system during the remodel. The neighbors advised me that the lawn was dying, so I asked Ina to plug the sprinklers back in. This is during the July heat... Her subcontractor plugged the sprinklers into a 4 plug outlet, that was not plugged into the wall, so the sprinkler system was still unplugged, and any surviving grass was annihilated. Not even weeds survived this drought. The grass was completely fried, just in time to put the home on the market. I asked Ina for compensation for this. She completely blew a gasket, claiming that she went over and above the work description, and demanded that I owed her a thank-you, rather than her owing me for the dead lawn. Ina had carpet installed before the baseboard was painted. This is completely wrong, and the result is that a thick seam of paint is on the carpet next to every baseboard . Even a rooky doesn't make this mistake. I could mention a number of other issues with the quality of work done, but why beat a dead horse? I can deal with unprofessional people, but poor quality work is inexcusable. I offer this review so that others won't end up paying for shoddy work.

Ina will indicate that she will do anything you want - they are there just to be the hands for your job. She can save you money with discounts she gets and won't charge you extra. They have a separate labor rate from all materials. The contract is vague. This has been a complete nightmare. I am detail oriented - I ask about and point out things I see (i.e. crooked tile, a bar height counter built 3" taller than standard bar height). This is seen as critical and they don't want questions. I'm told to "wait until we're done to critique". There are some things that can't be fixed later in the game and it seems like it SHOULD be the standard to let your contractor know your expectations so they can achieve them. This contractor wants to come in and execute the job and get out, without someone asking questions, telling you their expectations, or having knowledge of how to do the work properly. The quality of the work is OUTRAGEOUSLY poor by any standards. I've had home improvement experts into my home (someone who does their own remodel work, a home builder, and 2 other kitchen contractors) who have reviewed the work performed to date and agree that it's not acceptable quality. Items were done not to code (covered vents, and while I stopped them from completing my stairs, they would not be to code the way they are installing them). The contractor convinced me it was okay not to permit, so I'm not sure what other items in my home may not be done correctly. I was told she can do a kitchen in 2 weeks, average 3. My job went on 7 before I stopped them and they're still not done. You will be told that X piece of work will be done tomorrow and it rarely is. It appears that full range will hire the cheapest person to come in and do the job in your home. Additionally, because this contractor has one rate for their labor and the homeowner purchases all (or pays Full Range) for materials on the job, there is no reason for Full Range to be responsible in their purchase and use of materials. I have receipts with items which have not been used in my home. They have stood in my house and prevented me from taking my son to an activity until I wrote a check for receipts I received an hour earlier and had no time to review. I have paid for hundreds of dollars of items on receipts which were not used on my job or were purchased far in excess of what was needed. I haven't determined if it's carelessness in how they purchase items (so a receipt may have items from multiple jobs), or if there is intent in purchasing extra and they return the items and pocket the remaining. For perspective, here is the list of items Full Range said they had left to do in my kitchen vs. my list. This is the reason I stopped work to discuss: Full Range: Quarter round, chalk bar, touch paint, trim lights (she said I need new ones because they couldn?t' get them installed right - the electrician has since fixed that), add 3rd pendant light, adjust doors and drawers on cabinets, paint kitchen windows, stairs and rail. My list: Move the vent which is underneath the range, reopen the vent under the cabinet, uncover the vent you closed by the front door, replace backsplash tile (crooked throughout), replace island tile (Full Range has admitted that they need to redo all the tile), quarter round doesn't match, finished ends of quarter round aren't mitered for a finished look, bathroom transition presents a problem with toe stubbing, transitions in the hallway are mis-colored and don't match the floor, shelving holes in one cabinet aren't drilled evenly, spice cabinet doesn't close smoothly, there are gaps in the floor, there are chips in the floor, clean up stain on the floor and doors from trim in the hallway, clean up sloppy paint and drywall mud throughout (it's on walls, light fixtures, floors), base of dishwasher has exposed 2x4 and drywall, dishwasher is not leveled and attached into the space, refrigerator is not leveled, range doesn't have granite behind it and is not lowered to the countertop, window unfinished, microwave which is supposed to appear built in is not, cabinet doors are not adjusted, sink makes a horrible glurging sound when the laundry drains, stairs and rail are not completed, texture on the ceiling and walls was applied inconsistently. Her list was indicated to me and until I presented her with my list that was all. After she got my list she said "We weren't done yet". Additionally, it's been a blame game of how somehow I've prevented them from being able to do their job. Honestly, I was encouraged to move into my kitchen and begin using it which feels like her mind, all those things she's saying they weren't done with were done in their mind. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't use this contractor. The plumber who was in my house is no longer doing work for her, she fired the first electrician and brought in an electrician who wasn't licensed. Be very careful.
Response from full range construction
"We did everything we could to help [Member Name Removed] we could not find away to make her happy. We are sad we could not finish the job it was coming out to be a great job the kitchen is beautiful. We charged her labor only and she still owes us $5000. The total labor was $10000 the rest were the parts. We have alot of pride in our work"
