Burke Construction and Design Inc

We will never hire Burke Construction and Design again! We had a porch covering built over our existing patio with an estimated cost over $30K. We started the project August 2020 and was told it would take one to one and a half months to complete. After many delays and excuses and what Mr. Burke (Shane) admitted "I dropped the ball," we thought it was completed in January 2021. In Feb 2021 we noticed that an upper outlet was missing and singles came off the roof on two separate occasions. It took many phone calls and texts to Mr. Burke to get a roofer to come and repair the roof (May 2021) with a promise that a roofing inspector would come out to investigate. After multiple phone calls and promises of a return call, Mr. Burke texted us and stated if we called again "I'm just going to block you and we can communicate via email." That was on June 8th. As on July 14, we have seen no roof inspector and the outlet has yet to be installed with a hole in the siding. No further communication has been made by Mr. Burke and we are in the process of finding someone to install the outlet. Mr. Burke makes many promises but never completes what he starts. We have found other websites that have repeated the same information that he starts jobs but makes excuses why he can not finish. We would never recommend Burke Construction and Design Inc. for any home improvements or construction.

Shane and his crew had previously remodeled a basement bathroom shower several years ago. This was a small job that involved removing an existing single unit shower and installing a custom tiled and glass door enclosure. Their price and work was excellent. Two years later we again used Shane and crew to add hardwood floors to our living room and office. Again his price and work were excellent. The most recent work was an overhaul of a bathroom originally built in 1984. This time the job was more extensive as we wished to remove the built-in tub and all 3" white builder grade tile and replace it with travertine tile walls and floor, granite counter tops and a curbless shower. Shane worked with us on the material and design and did an excellent job in meeting our requirements and expectations. The finished room is a huge improvement and meets all of our needs. We had some minor issues on scheduling and completion of the work due to schedule changes on our part. This is typical of dealing with a small business that is often sensitive to tight scheduling and weather delays. In the end Shane made good on all promises and finished the job to our complete satisfaction.
