Our refrigerator is 26 years old and several days before calling Tubby had become ineffective to the point that the freezer was in the 40's and refrigerator was in the 60's (Fahrenheit). Knowing the vintage and thinking we would likely be making a rush purchase of a new fridge\freezer, I was skeptical that a repairman could make a cost-effective repair. Tubby called us back right away and said that it is often a simple and cheap repair such as a thermostat or relay. If it was a broken compressor or other expensive part, he would let us know right away before incurring parts\labor charges.Tubby's hunch over the phone turned out to be true and with a simple thermostat replacement and some freezer (evaporative coils) defrosting, our refrigerator\freezer began outputting cold air as designed just a few hours after the first phone call. So glad our fridge is working again--and now we know more about how to diagnose this in the future! Thanks, Tubby!

The dishwasher was not draining water completely. He had to do a sump pump clean out because clog was so deep into the dishwasher works. He really knew what he was doing and did it efficiently, proficiently, and gave us tips on maintaining a good healthy dishwasher for our area which has hard water. He went above and beyond.

He was very personable and he did the job great. He was very flexible with his schedule. He repaired our dryer and I thought the pricing was great.

Went great. In explaining it on the phone, he knew exactly what would be required, explained that it was a relatively easy repair to make and gave me a brief overview of what would be required if I wanted to try to replace it myself. He came when he said, was very personable and willing to answer any questions I had. Would definitely use him again.

When I called to make an appointment, he asked me to just email him all of our information and that he would call me back. We did this and he never called us back so we had to call him again. We called him because a part on our dishwasher had come off. When he was here, he was friendly. When I tried to give him the certificate, he tried to tell me it didn't cover the price for the service call and estimate. Anyway, I paid him the $50.00 he requested. He couldn't find the piece but he still charged us for the visit although he did nothing. Afterwards, I looked around and I found the piece right away and my husband was able to put it on. The Big Deal was absolutely useless and he never did any work.

It worked out. I thought the price was a little high for the work that he did. He was very efficient. I called him and he came out the said day. He was very prompt and very pleasant to work with and everything. I was just surprised at the repair price. He said they have a guarantee for the next 30 days not only on the work for they do but also if anything that happens on the refrigerator, they guarantee that for the next 30 days. So that’s how he justified the high price they have. They have more of a guarantee or warranty on the appliance than other people offer.

Ray spent considerable time and effort and was able to unplug the drain hose and save the pump and, therefore, the expense of a new dishwasher. They were prompt, clean, and very personable. I highly recommend their services.

The first day, he tried one fix and showed us how to save money by doing some of the work ourselves. That fix didn't work so he came back out late that night. He checked his 2nd hypothesis as to what was wrong with another repairman and together they fixed it the next day. Resourceful & persevering. He discounted the cost due to the difficulty of defining the problem.

Paul did an excellent job, I really appreciated the fact that he shopped around to get the best price for a new switch & wiring harness assembly saving me at least $130. He was able to quickly get the job done even though the new wiring assembly was a complete redesign from the manufacturer (they didn't make the old switches anymore thus the entire new assembly). Paul will be my first choice for any appliance work in the future.

I called Tubby Appliance, and Paul Tubbs was at my house within the hour. He found the problem, had a replacement fuse on hand, fixed it, and helped me reinstall the microwave, all for the cost of a service call. I was very happy with him, and will call him with any future appliance issues!

He called before coming to fix our 10 years old Kenmore stove, and my son was home. I talked to him on the phone asking him if this stove is worth fixing and his response was "yes". He was quite pleasant and cordial, He charged me $165 on top of the coupon I have purchased from the Angie's list. I called the gentleman and told him fixing my stove was a bit pricey and he told me that $165 is what he charges. Had I known fixing the heating element would cost $215, I would have bought a new unit for $475 from Lowe's. thanks,

Price changed without notice and only found out at end of project that he did not accept credit cards! I learned my lesson!! We didn't have $$$ before Xmas to pay for this!!! A small time one man operation,,another mistake I learned well!!!

Paul was very responsive and very helpful with inspecting our refridgerator and diagnosing a repair.

The guy never called me and he never returned my call. He did call about two weeks later and said, "Did I call you?" and I said, "I don't think so" and he says, "Well, oh, okay." Anyway, we never did any business and Angie's List gave me a refund. I've never used him before.

Really nice guy. He fixed the fan right away, but had to order a part for the thermostat. He did a good job, but forgot to tell us that a part did not come in. We had scheduled an appointment the next day and when he did not show we called him and he did not answer. At that point we thought that he was not going to finish so we started shopping for another repair contractor. We got a call an hour to an hour and a half later; he was very apologetic, but my husband had made concessions to get home early. If we had been told hours before that the part was not due to be delivered until then, we would not have had an issue. He came the next day and fixed the fridge and it has been working like a champ.

There is not much to say. Paul was friendly, responsible and quickly fixed the microwave.

Paul called to tell me that he was on his way. He was polite and professional while he was here. Paul was very helpful in diagnosing the problem (heating element was burnt out) and discussing several options with the pros and cons of each (he could fix it, we could go for a refurbished 'new' machine, or the deals that are available on a brand new machine and the warrenties available). I would recommend this service and use them again.

He was definitely professional and knew exactly how repair the thermostat and heating element. I love the fact that the request was called in and repaired the same day. I was able to go grocery shopping the very next afternoon.

I called the service provider and he was really nice, the earliest he was available was 3 days later. He asked me to text him my address and the appointment time as a confirmation which I did. However I was able to mess with the dishwasher and unclog it later that night. Hence I cancelled the appointment.

Refrigerator now runs better than when it was new Tubby knows his stuff and was an excellent professional.

It went fine...turntable on microwave wasn't working; just needed to be plugged in! (I couldn't see that, as microwave is built in and bottom had to be taken off).

chPaul was very nice, professional, and honest. When I called to make an appointment, he first tried to help me diagnose common problems such as a simple wiping down of the seal. When that did not work, he scheduled me in for a service call. He showed up on time, and he was very personable. He could have taken us for lots of $$ to sell us a part we needed. Instead he said it was a quick fix, and told us how to do it. We were more than happy to pay the service call. It's nice to know honest people are out there. I would certainly hire him again.

Paul responded immediately to schedule a service call with us within 24 hours. The washer repair went very well, and Paul was very good about plainly explaining the inner workings of the appliance as well as the repair process itself. Paul was professional, knowledgeable, and very courteous. After correctly diagnosing the problem with our washer, he ordered the replacement part, left to pick it up, returned and completed the repair very quickly. He then tested very thoroughly for any leaks before leaving. We would definitely use his services in the future and highly recommend him to other Angie's List members.
