Garbage Collection
After my weekly garbage pickup, they repeatedly put my can in the street in front of my mailbox, preventing both the postman and me from reaching my mailbox from the street without moving the can. I called several times but the problem continued in spite of assurances from the office that the driver would leave the can on the sidewalk for me. Then my bill suddenly increased by 13%. I was already playing extra fuel charges that other disposal companies don't charge. When I cancelled, they picked up my can a full week before they were supposed to pick it up. For a while they couldn't find the can and kind of implied that I had taken it. Then they discovered that they actually had picked up the can, but they didn't tell me that until I called a second time to inquire about it. I requested a refund for the final week of service that I didn't receive. I was told I would receive a refund. When the final statement came, they'd added an additional charge instead of sending the refund. I called to have the charge removed and re-request the refund. They refused to refund my money for the final week of service that I did not receive. At that point, I was so angry that I wrote to the president of Waste Management. That was a couple of weeks ago and he has not bothered to respond so I now am warning people to avoid Waste Management. I switched to Bestway and am happy with them.

Garbage Collection
Missed several payments due to working out of US. Paid past due amount billed, received additional notice of more past due amounts and paid these also. Ended up overpaying the company, but they did not resume service. After several calls I discovered they wanted additional payments to restart service but had not planned to tell me this. Have cancelled the service and requested return of overpayment.

Waste Management had forgotten to pick up my recyclables three times. I would call the office and then they would send someone back out to pick it up. After the third time I decided to go with a different company. I gave them three chances to correct the problem and it continued to happen. I would not use them again.
