Stellar Painting & Remodeling

Owner provided initial quote. On-time for appt and definitely took the time to explain how long it would take (conservative) to complete the job. I chose Stellar because of the reviews on the site, the fact that they were local and they did not require that they do the paint as well. We wound up having Stellar do the paint (with additions) in the end. One thing I learned - do not plan an inside wallpaper removal and paint job in Spring if you have a fixed/finite schedule. With the funky Colorado weather this Spring, Stellar, and I hear, outdoor paint schedules in general were turned upside down due to weather. This backed up their schedule and put our planned project in jeopardy. Understandable without a doubt, although not pleasant when you schedule a job with no wiggle room. In the end, Stellar rose to the occasion and knocked it out of the park!!!! I was extremely impressed that the project manager went out of her way to juggle their backed up outdoor projects to find the correct crew for our job. The two man crew they sent (Kenny and Devon) were beyond professional and accomodating. They arrived each day on time and really made us feel like they were there to complete the job to our satisfaction within the specified date req's...whatever it took. They cleaned up each day and spent time to outline what they would do next and time needed. Bottom line, very professional company focused on providing a completed project that would exceed expectations....which they did in spades!

My initial appoint was for Friday, May 17th for an estimate, however the tech was in my neighborhood on Wednesday, May 15th ( I believe his name was Robert ) and called and asked if he could come by and take a look, I had a previous appointment. So I said tomorrow, Thursday, May 16th at noon (12:00) would work; he said that would work.: at 12:50 no rep from Stellar nor a call. I phoned him and identified myself and he said "I'm running late" I said "I have to get back to work'" (not happy)....He suggested Saturday, May 18th at 10:00 I said "okay" I texted him at at about 9:00 to cancel because I had an accident the day before.. However at 10:45 he shows up 45 MINUTES LATE with no apology and wanted to do complete our business.. I asked if he received the text and that I had fallen and I needed to rescheduled.. He said he would take a look, I said the gate is locked and you can't get in the back to see the eves or boards... IMAGINE MY SURPRISE when I received a QUOTE via email.. A QUOTE based on no QUESTIONS to or from me about my needs and or wants the: iron bars..how they would be painted the cost of shutters and so on.. An assessment of about 2 min looking at the front of the house... BLATANTLY UNPROFESSIONAL maybe being African American, and living in the Montbello area he just assumed not being punctual and no communication would not be an issue.. IT IS... NO YOU CAN NOT PAINT MY HOUSE....

The workers were prompt and professional. I would work with them again.

The bid process was very painless, and low pressure sales. We took advantage of the color consultant who helped us get the right colors and that weren't exactly like any of our neighbors. The scheduling was a little rough - I work best via e-mail but our scheduler seemed to prefer phone. I left e-mail questions for her but only ended up getting answers when I'd call. Also, they assume you'll just be home during the project so you should bring that up if you can't be home all the time. There was also some confusion on the invoice - I paid with a credit card as the guys were leaving, then got a follow-up e-mail from their invoice lady that I had a balance due. A quick phone call to her straightened it out, but I didn't like that my credit card payment was "at the other office". I did receive a "paid in full" statement and see that my card was charged appropriately. The workers at our home were very courteous and professional. No complaints at all. Neat, on time, and very thorough. We are happy with the job and how our colors look. Looks like a new house!

They were amazing. Great workers, great price, and great quality. It's not always easy working with dark colors and white trim. They were able to blend the rooms seamlessly. We have gotten several comments from other contractors about the quality of the work.

We did not go with them because their bid wasn't competitive. We got 5 different bids and they didn't win the bid. They were $1,000 higher for the paint job. The owner actually came out. When my wife showed him what we wanted on the interior, she got the impression that he really didn't want to do it so he bid it very high. What we were looking to have done was pretty simple. She didn't get a good vibe from the whole experience in dealing with them. We got other bids between $13-$20,000.

The owner came out to give us an estimate. He delivered the estimate very quickly, and it was quite detailed (time, materials, etc.). Once we decided to use them, they were able to get us on their schedule quickly. The two guys who did the electrical work were hard-working, friendly, and very professional. The gentleman who did the tile was creative and hard-working as well. He'd never worked with this crazy tile we got - but did a lot of brainstorming to make it work. In the end his ideas were great, and he has a very artistic flair. He's also very friendly. The billing was smooth, and the work looks really good. We've received many compliments on our revamped kitchen.

very good job of prep and protection of existing finishes. Took extra care with painting down to base moulding and included painters caulk of base moulding to wall board. Lots of prep to remove peeling paint on windows. This was well done.

The were unprepared for simple wallpaper removal. They showed up and didn't treat the walls with steam or anything and then ended up scraping for hours and leaving glue residue throughout our basement. I went and purchased a $40 wall paper steamer and did everything the two workers did in half the time and by myself.

The crew did an excellent job. They were on time and were very professional.

They were prompt, courteous, and their work was excellent.

Stellar Painting & Remodeling were friendly, provided a good quote, they were very responsive, and I would recommend my family or friends to get a quote from them.

They did a great job. There was a problem that they had to come back forth but they fixed it with no problem.

Jack and his team squeezed our project in this February and though there were some stressful moments, we are very pleased with the final product. The biggest snag was around my choice of kitchen countertop. Because I didn't like granite, we ended up having some issues with the price and fabrication of the chosen countertop material. Again - in the end we were happy but I would probably have used a different fabricator in the end for the countertop, but in the end we were very satisfied with Jack and his team.

Stellar Painting visited my house. The initial appointment went well. A representative spent about 45 min discussing an external painting job. I was told that I would have a quote emailed to me in approx 48 hours. I did not ever hear from Stellar Painting again. I was disappointed in that the initial contact via phone and during estimate meeting was good. Obviously, the lack of follow up with an estimate implied a lack of interest in completing the work.

I had a handyman pull out my uppers on my kitchen then disappear living me withe a mess. Jack Wilson came out and he had great suggestions on how to i improve the plans that I had an architect draw up. The overall bid was much less than everyone else's and the quality of the work is excellent.

Once the work began, the team was professional from start to finish. Not only did they do a great job, but they took time to make sure everything was clean. Additionally, they did a few extra repairs (I found a big hole underneath a cabinet I'd removed in the bathroom. Great job, great team - hire them!

As the work progressed, I wanted a bit more done and Jack was always clear about the costs of the additional work. I received weekly bills detailing the hours that the subcontractors worked and receipts from any materials that were purchased by the subcontractors. Denise and John were Jack?s subcontractors and they were very skilled, careful workers. They made gentle suggestions as the work progressed and were always open to my vision of what I wanted. They were courteous and respectful of my home, they always cleaned up before they left, and continually checked to make sure the bathroom tile, placement of the lights and sun tube, listelle position in the shower, plumbing and towel bars were the way I wanted them. It was a pleasure to have Denise and John complete the work in my house and the quality of their work was outstanding. The finished bathrooms are beautiful and luxurious. Jack Wilson is conscientious, fair, caring and an excellent communicator as are his subcontractors Denise and John. They did a wonderful job for me and I totally understand why Stellar Remodeling has such a high rating on Angie?s list. I would certainly hire them again.

I loved them on the first day and booked them for a second day since the first day's work was great. Sadly, the second day didn't go as well. The guest bedrooms had giant designs on the wall, and instead of using the primer I left for them, the painters just used more and more paint to cover up the designs. The designs can still be seen. Also, the corners of the room are painted WAY darker than the rest of the walls. Also, I have found paint spots on my carpet, bathroom, and sink. It's like they didn't care what happened on the second day since I gave them such rave reviews on the first day. I was bummed that the upstairs was not as beautifully painted as the downstairs. The painters were nice, but I am not happy with all the issues.

It went well; they moved furniture they didn't have to and covered everything thoroughly. They even called me at work to see if I had extra touch up paint for the walls for a couple of spots they wanted to perfect.

The outcome was beautiful. Troy, a very talented man, did a great job for us and it was exactly what we wanted. He was on time, very neat, and great with our dog. We would definitely use the company again when we are ready to do more work!

Went as planned, from the prompt and professional estimate provided by Greg, through completion. No hassles--ever. The guys doing the actual work were professional and very careful about protecting our furnishings. There were just a few small touchups needed on the last day, but Brian (the team leader for our job) was thorough and did a great job. It went better than I expected actually. There is always "paint dust" no matter how much protecting goes on...so I spent a day and a half cleaning afterward (hardwoods and all the furniture). It took them about 6 days total for the job, with two guys working for 5 out of 6 days. I'd HIGHLY recommend Stellar, and would use them in the future.

They did respond but he was a couple hours late for his appointment.

Unlike another recent reviewer, we had an extremely positive experience with Stellar Painting. My wife and I are new to the area and hired Stellar solely based on the reviews we read on Angie's List. Like our other AL experiences, we weren't let down. Starting with our estimator, Greg and continuing with our three painters (wish I remembered their names), we found everyone at Stellar to be professional and courteous. The only slight snafu we had was the day they were supposed to show up, we got a call from the office saying the painter's truck had broken down and they would be about an hour late. I don't have a problem with something like that if it's clearly communicated and it was. The painters were very careful about covering our furniture, hardwoods and carpet and even helped me move some of our larger furniture. They were here for three days and worked quickly and quietly the entire time. Toward the end, my wife and I decided we wanted our stairwells painted as well as an upstairs hallway and bathroom (all outside of the original project scope). There was some confusion about how we would be charged so the painters put me in touch with Stellar's owner, Guy. He was kind, professional and very fair in my opinion. We agreed on a price for the extra work and it was done within a couple of hours. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Stellar Painting. They have good people who do fine work for a fair price. That's all I can ask for!
